I do believe we all know the deal, but in case you somehow don't:
Monster Girl Quest - is a visual novel, created in 2011 by circle Torotoro Resistance. It had achieved a degree of popularity thanks to a pretty good story, likeable characters and good sense of humour.
Wiki, that houses most of the game's western community:
https://monstergirlquest.fandom.com/
Download for the main game, complete with an in-progress NG+ mod by Ecstasy:
https://mega.nz/file/SUJ1SaoZ#h_-elqxrB483l1iZagJA1da3K3YKvFy1ATBRbB079xo
To play the game just launch 'Monster Girl Quest.exe'.
To play the NG+ mod rename the '0-RENAME_ME_TO_PLAY_NG+.txt' file to '0.txt' and launch the game using 'mon_que_ng+.exe'.
The game comes pre-packed with a few side-stories, accessible from the 'Extras' menu. If you want, you can find more side-stories, along with an instruction on their installation here:
https://monstergirlquest.fandom.com/wiki/Side_Stories

Besides the main game there is also an ongoing sequel/spin-off, called Monster Girl Quest: Paradox, made in RPGMaker, which has 2 out of 3 parts complete as of now.
It features a semi-open world design, a solid combat system, and an even more astoundingly pathetic resolution of 640x480.
It can be downloaded here:
https://mega.nz/file/WUJR1SrR#RyxAEL9PJTIneOIT_oQy6YW3fjaEl-HXXfI3KTO-oHs
If you find your eyes bleeding profusely, use F6 to scale the game's window, or F5 to put it in fullscreen mode that doesn't fuck up your monitor resolution.
Despite all of the story being completely translated, Paradox has a metric crap-ton of insignificant flavour and such. Good luck waiting for it to get translated if you give a fuck. You can follow the translation progress in here:
https://bitbucket.org/ArzorX/dokudoku-amateur-translation-team/commits/branch/master
I'm not gonna spoonfeed you on how to patch the game yourself. The download link above is already pre-patched with translation as of early 2020, along with all of the optional stuff and some extra RPGMaker goodies I found on the internet.

Setouchi can actually draw very well, which shows in Promestein (when she's not a seaweed anyway), it's just that he's an extreme fucking degenerate who seems to get off more the more conventionally unfuckable whatever it is that he wants to sexualize is.
In fact that's also true for UN_DO (a serious necrophiliac, but Chrome is really good), Xelvy (Hilde and Laplace), and probably every other artist on the team (maybe other than Delphinus), and in hindsight I think I wouldn't have MGQ any other way.

Think about it like this: MGQ was in sense a granddad of the the monstergirl genre along with Monster Girl Encyclopedia, it's just that Kenkou Cross went more for the [Girl] part, while Torotoro went for [Monster]. MGQ is meant to accommodate the most debauched of degenerates and if you don't like some monsters, that just means the ones you do will look much better in comparison.
Also just realized I said Setouchi is good without mentioning Haruka. Damn, is there something about her that makes my dick so hard.

UN_DO and Xelvy are actually my favorite artists in MGQ. I really like the way UN_DO colors his stuff, and Xelvy satisfies my massive fetish for weird girls. Chimera Bug was my favorite loss scene in part 3
Replies: >>1548
>>1545
UN_DO's coloring is really stylish in a grim-dark kind of way.
Not really a fan of it in sex scenes, tho. With his shading the characters just look like they could use a bath (or maybe I'm just biased as a Chromefag since she always needs a bath).
But Chrome is just amazing as a character, even without her tearjerker storyline (which gets even more heart-throbbing in Paradox if you take her to the admin tower).
And Titania is also pretty good looking too, but not much in terms of character and her scenes are pretty specific.

Xelvy is an oddball for sure. Not a huge fan of his anatomy, but on the other hand, the way he draws his characters there is not much anatomy to speak of, lol.
Also seems like he has quite an anal fixation. It's not very apparent in the original trilogy, not that I remember, but in Paradox, especially the second part, poor Lika's ass gets pegged by literally every passing apoptosis.
My biggest complaint with him is that he draws semen in this strange pissy-yellow hue, it doesn't look appealing at all.
Laplace, Riot and Hilde are pretty sexy (unlike Sonya). I guess he was just made to draw robots.

Speaking of robots, I wish Torotoro would commission some mecha girls from Pochincoff for the 3rd part.
I mean, there is this massive trans-chronological, probably also trans-dimensional secret laboratory going on in the second part and from the looks of it we are going to visit it in it's operational state. It would only make sense to add some robot girls, not just chimeras and Xelvy can't hog all of the spotlight.

Yeah, I won't lie, it kind of sucks. But again, it's because since it's inception MG genre was highly focused on reverse-rape.
If this makes you feel any better, there is this relatively new game called MY]R by takamakuran, which finally has MGs without reverse-rape.

Actually, one of my favorite things about MGQ was being able to go to the encyclopedia and have cum shot on each separate part of the girl, or just out and bukkake them. I always enjoy that kind of thing in porn games, and with all the weird girl designs it kept things interesting. I ended up being a fan of UN_DO largely due to doing that with his characters. There are monstergirls in New Game, but they are pretty light compared to MY]R (mostly a bunch of onis who are just colorful humans with horns) and the percentage of sex scenes is greatly in favor of vanilla humans.
Also, here is the link to a russian mod for that I've randomly found while looking for paradox stuff.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1vEtAIS_GSO_QJC4jTUZcxnJD0En7cKpc
From what it seems it looks like it adds a massive overhaul of labyrinth of chaos with randomly generated legendary artifacts (a-la diablo), some new difficulty levels, even more masochistic than PARADOX, and general QoL improvements like being able to view all of the monster's status effects and grouping numbers with metric suffixes.
The catch is that it's in russian, but their translation seems to be based on Arzor's, so you could probably re-translate all the non-mod stuff back to english using WinMerge or something.

Features: game's graphics are upscaled with waifu2x, bug fixes, typo fixes, S A V E L O C A T I O N fixes, new battle minigame in extras menu, special characters like ♪ don't work anymore, basically a straight upgrade from base game.
It makes use of NTFS symbolic links to avoid having two sets of the same exact files for vanilla and NG+, so first of all don't freak out about there being an archive inside an archive - I had to prepack it into a tarball to preserve the links; and secondly - it will obviously not work if you have a FAT32 filesystem (or maybe links will get resolved by either your archiver or windows itself, I dunno).

Job and race are just multipliers on top of your base stats from level. No matter what job or race you level a character as, they will end up with the same stats later in any given job/race combo. Level up job and character level if you want, there is a character level cap in part 1 and 2. It's 60 in part 2. You'll have to turn up the difficulty though if you want any challenge later.

>However MGQP is great and an actual game.
kind of makes it sound like I should just drop the original and check out paradox instead. I'll do what you said though, and the CG scenes are actually pretty good.
Replies: >>10122 >>10143
>>10118
If you just want to see the CGs from the artists you like, I'm sure somone can give you a complete save. The first game is required to understand what's going on in Paradox. Unfortunately, The final third part of Paradox is still not out, but I have high hopes. The second part was significantly larger than the first, and overhauled the post-game RNG dungeon. So the third part is probably going to be massive. Or this shit has gotten so big they'll expand it to four parts.
>>10118
I think by "an actual game" that anon meant that it's not a visual novel with some RPG-flavored combat. You know how people say Punch Out is a puzzle game that has the look and feel of a boxing game? MGQ is a puzzle game that has the look and feel of an RPG. MGQP, though, is made in an RPG game engine and plays more like a traditional RPG with party fights, rather than playing like a combat engine scraped together in a VN engine. Don't get me wrong, I like MGQ, and the combats can be fun to get through, but you play it for the porn and the story interactions with the monster girls, rather than playing it just because it's fun to play.

I can't keep track of all the Succubus X games, although Succubus Quest I recognize. It's from quite some time ago, if I remember right, but it's popular enough to even have had a few era games. Succubus Prison is, I think, a WolfRPG puzzle game where you're stuck in a house with three succubi who want to rape you to death. Kind of a stealth puzzle thing, if I remember right. I think it was okay but probably hard to play in Japanese.

I think I played this one already and didn't particularly like it. I generally grab batches of h-games and then delete anything I don't think I'll ever replay, which results in seeing a lot of poor foregettable RPGMaker trash, and I think this was one of them or at least felt like it.

I usually prefer to wait until the whole game is actually fully finished and translated before playing it, but this time I bit the bullet and decided to try out Paradox and holy shit, is the story a clusterfuck.

It's not only a bad sequel on it's own, but it actually retroactively shits on the original by making the long ass journey in it pointless because by killing Ilias, Luka fucked up the entire multiverse apparently and it is now destined to collapse in on itself unless one of his clones from another universe pairs up with his edgy Devianart OC son and incestuous daughter.

How can someone who made such a compelling narrative for a porn game in the original make such a retarded hot mess in the sequel. I would rather have all illustrations in it be done by Delphinus and Setouchi than to deal with another minute of this bottom of barrel level of garbage writing. It's not like I am playing this to fap anyways.

I have played many games with good stories and shit gameplay but this is the first time I played one with 10/10 gameplay and story that makes me want to kill myself after every new major reveal. At least NG+ is there to cover that side of the autism spectrum.

If it was actually being written that is. Instead, Ectasy spends months trying to come up with ridiculously complicated multilayered fights on a fucking visual novel engine.

I am fucking mad.
>>15329
>compelling narrative
>MGQ
Look Anon, I love MGQ too but I think at this point its been long enough that we can kinda stop pretending MGQ has a good story. I remember it fondly too, because like many others, it was part of my first steps into the world of porn RPGs and monster girls, but if I'm objective, the characters are two-dimensional, the antagonists are comically villainous, the gameplay isn't very entertaining (it's just one long corridor with almost no flexibility), and the "angels r bad" shtick is one that's been used time and again. It’s time to take off the rose tinted glasses, Anon.
>>15329
>How can someone who made such a compelling narrative for a porn game in the original
Is this bait?
>>15335
Good thing about Paradox in particular is how it gives more depth to some of the two-dimensional villains (angels in particular).
Plus with the whole SMT Order vs Chaos plotline going on between comunist angel and anarchist monster worlds angels having no personality suddenly makes even more sense with how Ilias' power is supposed to be unable to create anything original.
Plantsect sisters still have no reason to exist, though.

Best you'll get is equal opportunity games like Succubus Affection, or weird one-offs like Dungeon of Lulu Farae. Decent amount of battlefuck games to pick from though, which is mostly just dragon quest parodies and some weird nip that thinks he owns Ragnarok Online.
>>39590
I blame it mostly on KC's Monster Girl Encyclopedia, MGQ was a blip on the radar compared to MGE's presence in monster girl related media. MGQ only got as popular as it did because of KC really, if he wasn't there the game would've never sold, and thus never got popular enough for us gaijins to learn about it. I just hope the MGE RPG he's working on will let you have some of the maledom MGs, guess we'll find out in 10 years.
IT'S STILL NOT OUT YET.

There's an old RPGMaker game called SAGA made by ひげ政宗, where a subset of the monsters are monster girls that you defeat and then take home for a rape scene. The problem is, though, that there's only one scene per monster, and in several of those scenes you gangbang the monster with two of your party members, ex-pro-wrestlers Rick and Scott Steiner. Later games from that guy in the same style didn't even have the monster scenes as the guy seemed to want to focus more on the two main female PCs, of which there are always two that change from game to game. He might be coming back around with his upcoming game, though. Then there are occasional BF games which can go either way whether you win or lose like 反逆の妖狐, which is actually just one fox ear girl, come to think of it. Games that are strictly your male PC raping the monsters without the reverse are really not that common.

Modding in RPGM is fairly easy, the ENG translation has several built in mods for example. As for content, yes there are mods like that for paradox too, although from what I'm aware they don't work with the current paradox version.(Could be fixed easily enough, if someone cared) There is the Cecil mod and the Squid-Girl mod. Might be more "content" mods, but I don't play Paradox anymore so I wouldn't know, I doubt it. I uploaded an old copy of the game with the mods applied, but they're nothing groundbreaking, especially since this was before the collab. They are also both based off of mods from of the original VN, so really if you care enough for the content you should just play those instead. https://mega.nz/folder/F4AxSIBY#CiXgpQ9f4-IgyT_XRUEhkQ

Best place to grind is the highest level tournament in Grand Noah, but unlike mimic island it does require you to already have a strong team. If your team is strong enough to oneshot the final round it's a far better place.

Can't believe anon called it.
>have all games downloaded
>playing mgq1 every now and then
>at some point, my computer fucks up
>have to factory reset
>end up back on /hgg/ a bit later
>"ooh, mgq thread, i can redownload that"
>not a single working link

oh yeah, i forgot about how fucking difficult it was to download anything. and im sure if i wanted to download, id have to go to six different fag95 threads for different parts and translation patches that i apply independently, right? god i wish i never got in to h-games

The new monster girl games collection has an up to date paradox pre-patched copy, you just unpack and play:

I agree, you have beyond shit taste. Alice is shit and is hard-carried by KC's design; and the design itself is overdone and overly complicated.
Translation for the Part 3 demo is out. https://bitbucket.org/ArzorX/monster-girl-quest-paradox-translation-part-3/src/master/

God damn it, this isn't gonna be finished for another few years, is it? See you all again in 2 or so years.

It's literally fucking 3x bigger than both previous parts combined, including the crossover shenanigans in part 2
of course its going to be fucking huge

its the same for the VN when it first launched

Hasn't this already proportionally taken a longer amount of time compared to the first two parts than the 3rd part of the original VN took compared to its first two parts?

Have the devs ever commented on why they turned the vn series into a rpg? I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of fans preferred it as vn's, so the whole thing is odd.

Oh boy, that statement would create quite a stirrup in some places. Paradox drawn all kinds of weird people to the series, many of whom admit that they don't even care about the monster girls and just came for the JRPG autsim
>>69251
I can't imagine anyone prefers it as a VN, that's nonsense
Replies: >>69274

The original VN had some flaky JRPG elements for window dressing. A JRPG is what they wanted to do in the first place.
>>69264
Not him but it was a much, much better h-game as VN. I remember fapping right through the entire trilogy for 3 days straight - edging to decent girls and nutting to the best ones and it was a blast, the game's structure with lack of repetitions made it possible.
Meanwhile paradox's porn content is basically an afterthought and maybe a bonus you go check after you're done playing the game part for the day and want to jerk off.

First and foremost it was always just a Dragon Quest meme
The full on RPG the sequel to it is just a natural evolution

Maybe if they ever decide to make an "MGQ2: Adventures of Neris and Nero" game then maybe it can go back to pseudo-RPG VN format again

>edging
Weak.
I came every time Luka did.

The OG trilogy forced you to play like shit and intentionally lose to unlock the scenes, where in Paradox the loss scenes are there but not the main bulk of it, so you can play the game without feeling pressured to intentionally lose, then when you are ready, get as much hentai as you want.

I never really liked the whole 'loss for porn' that is so common in monster girl h-games, I get why its done that way, but I don't like losing, even intentionally. I rather be rewarded with hentai for winning, but again, I get it, its supposed to be 'rape', but i prefer the way paradox handles it.

What? Paradox request scenes are shit because they are mostly just the regular loss scenes lazily adapted to a non-permanent scenario.
>luka loses the fight
>gets raped, then optionally forcibly married or killed
makes infinitely more sense than
>luka walks up to a girl and asks for sex
>minutes later he's crying and whining that he got what he asked for (because it was in the original loss script)
>sometimes STILL gets fucking vored because reasons
>sometimes last line is changed so he's not

Isn't it because Death keeps reviving him after he dies?
She's also always mildly pissed that it keeps happening

The intended target audience is masochists and submissive guys, and there is nothing you can do about it.

So does anyone know who is working on the translation for part 3? It was Dargoth in the past, then others joined in, but I have lost track after so many years. Trying to get updates on how its going, or if its even going.
