Strive for Power is a resource/slaves management game created by Maverik in Godot Engine. In SfP you play a wizard using magic to brainwash a harem of slaves, discipline them as necessary in your dungeon, go on mighty quests and generally fuck around with everyone around you.

Strive for power - web version
Maverik originally developed SfP on a HTML engine. He then abandoned it at v6.4.4 and went to develop SfP on Godot engine.
SFPD picked up the HTML game; dinitro and MetalFan joined the development; DarkwoodDragon wrote some new sex scenes
Maverik's original release: https://mega.nz/#!pVcEVAZD!Itx3HmCmvb_g9cOBOQd_T9N2za11QM_YeBwjXcr-0A0 (play it as-is, or copy files/ to put the images in the development release)
Latest stable: https://gitgud.io/spdevel/sfp-web/repository/archive.zip?ref=stable
Latest development: https://gitgud.io/spdevel/sfp-web/repository/archive.zip?ref=master (pick stable or devel, copy it to a folder and copy in the files folder from Mega to get the flavor images)
Saves are stored in browser cookies, which are based on the folder you run it out of. If you move it, you will either have to restart or use export/import to copy your current game in. Save export is the gear icon or the right-click context menu.
Hints: https://gitgud.io/spdevel/sfp-web/blob/master/docs/hints.md

Note about versioning: Maverik used to call the HTML version Strive for Power 1, being Strive for Power 2 the version ported to Godot.
Now he just calls the Godot version Strive for Power 1. SfP2 will be the sequel of the current game: it will feature new mechanics and will be still developed in Godot.

Yes, you can have a benis if you choose to. You can also be an elf, orc, goblin, centaur, fairy, or whatever else they have in there as well.
Any recommended portrait pack, or can I just download them all and use them at the same time?

Portraits are based on character trait so you'll likely have to rewrite some stuff if you want to use them all. If you don't like the one auto-assigned to someone you can use the internal browser to assign a new one.

Since OP forgot to include a link to the sequel, here's one for those who want to check it out.

It's still pretty barebones, but crafting, dungeon raiding and classes are working.
The dev has said he's working on an overhaul for the UI aswell. See pic for example.

>>129
Theoretically, yes. Or you could put together your own. Or you can mix it up by using a pack you like and adding pic's to your hearts content.
If you do go about adding your own pic's, a protip would be to get the file names right, so the game can assign them correctly itself.

Some variation of a wizard I'd suggest, since the plot and mechanics revolve around player joining the mage's guild and using the main characters magic stats for spells that make it infinitely easier and simpler to keep the rest of your characters in line.
You can still roll with a melee fighter build if you want to. Just go with high agility and use the best weapons/armor you can get for your party and you can breeze through everything short of the area that opens up after the plot is over.
Alternatetly, you can just ignore the plot and go out to hunt qt maido's to bend to your will for fun and profit.

Was it possibru to get "boned" in this game anyways? I remember it being possibru but been a couple of years... i really dislike how most games just make you the boner whereas with 100% females (no futashit) you're the power-top thingie riding that dick dry as fuck sheeeit!

>>1236
You select characters for your party in the "combat group" menu, just below the overview listing your slaves.
If they are greyed out, its most likely lack of obedience, energy or because the slave isn't available for work (sleeping, stressed out, recovering from giving birth and such).

Not as far as I know. There's a few that can't do certain sexual actions, but I think that's intentional (Good luck trying to get a footjob from a centaur), otherwise there's no restrictions on what you can do with any of the slaves.
Some races are better than others for various jobs or tasks, like dragonkin getting the best max stats and different racial bonuses if that's what you mean. It's mostly for your party members stats are important though, so most races have their uses, even if their stats aren't necessarily the best.
I remember downloading this some time ago but didn't touch it until recently, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.
Unlike other slave-trainer-sims this one doesn't seem to bust your balls as much when it comes to happiness/funds/supplies/leveling, so I'm having a pleasant time capturing and training slaves.
For a while I was struggling with Mansion upgrades until I progressed in the main story, and now I've learned I can just capture slaves, siphon their free attribute points and sell them, instead of going through the effort to train them up and begrudgingly part with them.
Additionally I'm a bit disappointed in the laboratory, I was hoping for absurd modifications but it's more along the lines of stat and minor anatomy changes.

You can sell their unassigned attribute points for mansion upgrade points. Just take them from the prison first, strip their unassigned attribute points in the learning points menu, then sell them at the local town to drop them back into prison for taming.

Considering that its only the free demo atm, I'm not sure cashgrab is the right word for it. It's mostly barebones atm. The worst of the bugs where fixed in the last patch, but there's still some around. Careful about loading saves made while you where in the process of upgrading a room, as it used to break your ability to upgrade rooms. Can't remember if it was fixed.
It does have some neat stuff though. The dungeons are better than just walking around the same region over and over in the original strive, and the class system makes leveling up feel better than just making a number go up. Particularly the special classes that are restricted to specific races, which makes the race of your slaves far more important than just determining what their max stats and which racial buff they get.
The crafting system is a matter of whether or not you like that kind of shit. Grinding for materials for it takes ages, and when you get to the rare materials, like dragonbone, that is the current endgame, along with fucking your slaves of course.
Only the one quest in it atm, though it involves a few side things, so the materials for crafting and waiting for the slaver caravan to bring in rare slaves, hoping for that dragon waifu, is the main gameplay cycle, once you get your mansion up and running atm.
>>1165
where the hell are you finding all those games most of what I find thats like strive is usually untranslated or is femdom/femmc trash
>>3932
Fucking hell, I have played this game so many times but never progressed far cause I thought the only way to get upgrade points was selling decent quality slaves. Thanks for this tip, now my dumb ass can actually progress.
This got a lot better since i last played it in the blog days. But whe wiki is only useful for the character/storylines. Does anyone knows how to make your characters interested in when you rape a bandit? Do they join or something? Also how do I brand my slaves? I remember it used to be easier.
The sequel just got an update, link in >>1091 still works.

Update dating, revamped the obedience system, again and a host of minor changes. The biggest are probably the "reputation shops" for guilds, which should sell exclusive classes or something.
Patch came out a few hours ago so I haven't had time to fuck around with it yet to see how much is changed.

Starting slave can be set to be (step) sister and there are pregnancies in the game, they can produce new slaves that can also be sexed.
I don't think there's any mechanics to show inbreeding however.

I had the same issue. At some point naming schemes changed. Left old, right new.
DarkElf =TribalElf

You will have to change the names. Lucky for you I believe the mod only needs you to rename the bodies/portrait subFOLDERS. A folder named "Demon+DarkElf" becomes "Demon+TribalElf". I recommend renaming all DarkElf folders to TribalElf first to avoid confusion when you later rename Drow folders to DarkElf.

Highly stressed slaves can injure themselves and get into trouble.
Dream knocks the slave out for the rest of the day, preventing them getting into such trouble as well as lowering Stress.

>>15536
I don't think quicksell has any options for selecting which slaves to sell. I never use it myself anyway.
A big jail is always the way to go, since taming slaves increases their value and is necessary for upgrade points.
Value of a slave depends on several factors such as level, rarity of the race, traits and beauty. With experience you can recognize slaves likely to to be valuable, but there is no function in game that tells you this other than trying to sell them on the market. There may be a mod for it, but I don't know for certain.

The best places to go for high priced slaves would be goblin cave in the mountains, the elf patrols near the elf town and the monster girls on the beach.
The last one has the advantage of being feral monster girls, so you don't have to tame them to get upgrade points when you sell them.

 >>15537
You seem to get the stats pretty well.
>STR =
Melee damage and carrying capacity.
It's unimportant on your main, useful on everyone else as it increases the amount of loot your party can haul.
>AGI
Hit chance and chance to get hit. You will still need armor but it helps, until the dragonlands onward, by then you will get hit a ton no matter how much AGI you got so you will need armor to survive, but that's post campaign shit, so don't sweat that early on.
>MAG
Determines how much you heal, sedate, damage and such with your spells. Important on your main, since his MAG will be used for most magic. Also useful on the rest of your party by the time you get to the dragonlands as a MAG 10 magic user can do 120-200 damage per spell. You won't need that until the dragonlands though, so again, don't sweat it during the campaign.
>END
Determines HP and the number of interactions per day, at a rate of 1 to 2, as you noted yourself.
Don't sweat the HP, you get 5 per levelup, so you won't be too squishy once you get a few levels and armor helps reduce damage as well.

As for max stats, you choose them when you make your main, all other slaves get max stats from this table:
https://strive4power.fandom.com/wiki/Slave_Race_Stats_and_Abilites
The bonuses you can give are +2 STR and/or AGI from modifications, +2 MAG from tatoos, trait bonuses and what you can find on magic equipment.
For early campaigns, you can use anyone who can fight. High AGI will help on all melee fighters and STR 4 or higher for using 2 handed weapons. Races to look out for are Half/Beastkin Wolves and Cats, Centaurs, Arachna's, Scylla's, Lamiah's and Drow's. Fairies too, if you can find one with Responsive. Dragons are the best over all, but are next to impossible to find outside ordering them from Sebastian.
For Dragonlands, you want to max out MAG on everyone in your party for for damage output, get Mindblast, Acid Spit and maybe heal on everyone. Drow and Fairies have the highest MAG max, if you can find them with Responsive, all the better.
Replies: >>15545
>>15543 cont
One extra thing. Having one slave with high awareness in your party can be useful for avoiding fights you don't want to deal with. Wolves (Half/Beastkin makes no difference, they have the same stats and bonuses) get a bonus to awareness and a set of tatoos can max it out.

Also also.
About slave prices, specialisation is not supposed to affect the price of the slaves.

Sedation decreases:

>end seems to give extra actions on each odd number, there is a cap to that or if i can keep stacking end will get infinite actions somehow?
The latter, there is no cap.
>>15588
You think this dev is bad with that? It's not all that uncommon. Look at Portals of Phereon, where the dev sometimes even scraps old art even though it's perfectly good and has no greater scheme to fit into, and moved from a "spend AP" Fallout-like system to a "two actions" tactics SRPG like system, and at least once scrapped and revised the PC's skill system. You'll find artifacts of old development over there hanging around all the time. I mean, major system changes are pretty healthy for a game in alpha, but maybe not for one that's in rolling Patreon-style open beta. Look at the only still-running major (i.e. Patreon sheqel-grubbing) Legend of Krystal project. They had a perfectly functional prologue and maybe half of a first chapter. They had a workable (for a furry) protagonist spritesheet. They had what could've been a perfectly average point-and-click-adventure flavored sex game with some minimal RPG elements, and they were just in the "grind out content" phase of game development. Then they brought on a "community manager" right as they decided to scrap the whole thing and start again, including changing the sprites. Now, they're nowhere, which is a pretty good object lesson for those people who've considered throwing dollars at these sorts of projects.
>>15580
Huh, I'll give it a whirl around and see how it shakes out
>>15588
Most programmers are like that and struggle with the urge to throw everything out and rewrite it, at least until they get the experience to control that desire.

Implementing stuff from scratch is a lot more fun than working on an established codebase, and once you've got a working codebase you can see where things could be improved or made more clean / elegant. Most flaws can be worked around, but this ruins the beauty of the codebase, so it's very tempting to rewrite things in a more elegant way. Of course, no abstractions are perfect and some people get caught for months at a time rewriting and improving the codebase only to start over with an even better design, without making any user-visible progress.
Replies: >>15672
>>15588
Patreon and other pay per month "services" actively encourage the dev to not make progress, as making progress means the game is closer to being finished and being finished means you get less money.

Endless development games are the only thing you'll find when patreon or something like it is involved.
Replies: >>15661
>>15640
The traditional argument against that is that when the game is "finished," there ought to be a lot of people to whom the game can be sold (rather than from whom funds can be begged each month) who had no desire to pay money for a game that wasn't finished. That doesn't appear to hold for porn games from Western developers, or perhaps it just hasn't been tested as often. How many Patreon porn games have actually been completed and set up in some marketplace for sale? It's kind of a self-perpetuating problem because there is really no Western marketplace for selling porn games, especially of the type that seem to populate Patreon. The Japanese are simultaneously ahead of and behind the West when it comes to this; ci-en and similar are getting bigger over there, though, probably because those developers can reasonably expect to sell the intermediate AND final versions of their games. But there have been a fair number of popular porn games over there that were released in broken or incomplete states and then never really patched to what they were promised to be--but they're still usually fairly playable and more complete than the average Patreon cash grab.

>How many Patreon porn games have actually been completed and set up in some marketplace for sale?
It's becoming increasingly common for Patreon porn games to release onto Steam. As a marketplace for adult games Steam is rapidly expanding.
Replies: >>15670
>>15668
I suppose with no evidence that the majority of those are either Japanese pro or doujin (if I'm using the term right) games translated by the couple of Western houses that do it or the developers or their Japanese agents (and potentially with some mild handwavy obfuscation/censoring for things like shota/loli ("they're halflings") or bestiality), or are those often-softcore low-gameplay match-3 or management semi-VNs (Mirror, for instance) that seem to by percentages be most of the Western porn games that actually "reach market" for lack of a better term. I don't exactly consider Steam an ideal marketplace for adult games considering their wishy-washy behavior when they first started offering them. Frankly, it's also much too public of a venue and I worry that it'll bring too much scrutiny onto the industry, such as it is. Look at the consternation and teeth-gnashing that Rapelay incited in the mainstream media and in the American Congress, and that game is less-than-average as far as perversion goes, and it wasn't being distributed on what is probably the single biggest digital platform for PC games.
>>15611
>Implementing stuff from scratch is a lot more fun than working on an established codebase
It's more like, the bigger the program gets, the bigger the desire to burn it with fire is. It's like looking at forum posts you did a few years ago, you wonder how could you possibly be that retarded.

Great, debugging's going to be a pain in the ass now.
New Strive Conquest version out.

https://strive4power.itch.io/strive-conquest

Added more dungeons, enemy types, crafting recepies, enchanced weapons/armor, more clothing, tatoos and such stuff.
Also new disassembling mechacing for salvaging useful resources from stuff. Neat, but buggy about what item it's disassembling to careful not to break something valuable with it. Other than that it seems mostly stable.
Still no plot beyond the election, just sand box stuff.

There's also an experimental version that has been updated several times in the last week, but I haven't been able to find any changelogs for it, so you will just have to explore if you want to see whats new in it.

I played a bit of strive conquest. It seems like a huge downgrade to strive 2.

The ui is clunkier and Travel has been made more annoying. Instead of before where you would just maki an adventuring party, click on a location and just go. now you have this multistep ui where you have to go back and forth between your slave menu, travel menu, dealing with travel time, ect. and have to start all over again if you accidentally press the giant "job" button on each character.

The slave menu no longer tells you the appearance of your character at all, making any slave of a particular race interchangeable with each other with no varying levels of attractiveness. the only distinguishable characteristics are if the tits and ass are big enough and if virgin yes/no.

As far as I can tell you can't capture or rape bandits any more after a fight and there are no more ages of characters.

Granted its a newer game and some of this can be fixed, but I'm not sure how the dev will fix the broken travel system. as for the character descriptions I'm 90% sure these were removed on purpose as to dodge patreon infractions against 'icky' content like rape or loli so I doubt they'll be coming back.

Overall the game is a shallower game that is less fun because a lot of the depth and power fantasy was removed in order to be a more sterile and safe game. I don't even think they call them slaves anymore in favor of "hirelings".

I won't argue that the new travel system doesn't have its problems, especially the UI, however it does have some things I like.
When you need to go raid a dungeon for a guild quest you no longer have to travel through 5 other regions with half a dozen fights in each, to get to it, for a start. Most of the traveling you'd do was just marching around a single region farming for the right slave. Seemed like simple busywork on the way to your destination.

The slave menu has the same descriptions as S4P more or less. It's only the apperance stat that has been removed. Or are you refering to something else?

You don't get the option to enslave everyone you meet, sure, but there are events for capturing Bandit Leaders at the end of bandit dens, prisoners you meet (or you can release them for loot) and events where you can pass a charm check to talk goblins or fairies you meet into joining you. I think the old system is also going to be implemented but that Maveric just hasn't gotten around to that yet.

You make a good point about the shallowness of SC and loli's being taken out, though I suspect they can be modded in and the shallowness is more because many things haven't been implemented yet. It also has some things that where badly needed (having no way to enchant equipment always bothered the ADD minmaxer in me for example) and other stuff that adds more depth to party setups (class selection and crafting equipment) that lacks from S4P.
Also, there is 2 kinds of slaves in the game. Peons, who are (theoretically but not practically) free people who work for you (like guild hirelings) and slaves (from the slave merchant and people you capture).
Also also, you can still rape the way you could in S4P, by subduing a slave first before taking actions they don't want. I think the lack of loli's is the only concession to removing "icky" content, but I don't know that for a fact.

Yeah I played it a bit more, ages are in but the option for lolis is gone from the options menu.

It really sucks that the appearance stat is gone, the game needed more ways to distinguish slaves from one another, not less. I'd suggest taking the useless personality option from chracter creation and revamping it so every character has a personality quirk or two that separates them from each other.

Also Peons suck. why the fuck would I ever want a half slave that I can't do anything with? Who wants a slave with rights that you have to tiptoe around? Why are these peons treated as characters and not just faceless manual laborers like in free cities?

Why can't you can't do anything with the first illustrated NPC character with no matter how high you get her consent score?

I doubt the strive developer still comes here but if you want some advice on how to fix this crap and make it playable, replace the 'travel' option with a party screen where you make an adventuring party out of your slaves, make a new travel system where you can send your party out, get rid of all the material farming spots or add a reason for me to send people there like catching slaves or getting items.
also it took me longer than I like to realize that you visit your town using a second travel menu at the top of the screen and not using the travel menu. Rework this so all the travel options are unified and in one place.
Re-add appearance stats and expand personality so each slave is a bit different and add back in the secret underage characters option to the options menu.
Re-add the option to capture people after battle. with there being no way to go out and hunt for slaves it makes all your non-dungeon locations useless. why do we need 30 some locations that are only good for farming mats?

One good thing I like about this game is getting access to random infinite dungeons, if I could get that in strive4power that'd be great too. Or better yet, just take the item enchantment stuff and random dungeon stuff from this game, port it back to strive4power and scrap the rest because as it is, I can't recommend this wreck to anyone. Strive4Power is a much better game.

Slaves do 10% less damage but also take less damage, gather resources faster 10%, but craft 10% slower. Otherwise the difference is otherwise cosmetic. You can enslave peons and use the writs from the servants guild to free slaves (make them peons), but there's a chance they leave when you do so, depending on their loyalty.
Other than that they are the same afaik.
Maybe maveric is planning to do events for one or the other?

Daisy, the only recruitable NPC so far, becomes fuckable after a few events that happen after a few days.

Don't know about the appearance stat, I wouldn't mind it being introduced, but I suspect it would be largely cosmetic, like it is in S4P, where it only really affects how much money a slave is worth and how much money they can make when working as prostitutes.

The "second travel menu at the top" is for switching locations, the first menu is for sending slaves to those locations.
I think it's like that because you are supposed to be able to conquer and control locations in the future at some point. This would make it easier to switch between places under your control.
I can certainly think of more elegant ways to send parties around (drop down selection for each slave like when you assign work instead of a separate menu? Bringing up a map so you can select the location on it? Being able to assign slaves to groups and then assign the group as a whole to a location instead of having to do it for each slave separately?)
Protip btw, you get a bonus to the speed you harvest the resources at a dungeon location after clearing it. For some resources this can make a big difference (magic wood, mythril and such).
I suspect that traits and minor events that add more personality of the slaves will be added latter. However, most of that stuff just boils down to "I hope he will fix/add that latter" so take that with a considerable dose of sodium, Like most of the stuff in SC.

New version came out yesterday, but the changelog doesn't say whats new in it. We'll probably get another new one in a day or two.
>Don't know about the appearance stat, I wouldn't mind it being introduced, but I suspect it would be largely cosmetic

I don't mind useless or cosmetic options, I just think they add to a characters personality and make them distinguished from others. As it is now most characters of any given race just feel exactly the same and have exactly the same dialogue with no distinguishing characteristics.

>>20183
You probably need to find ways to reduce their stress. Sedation can do the job easily. Environmental conditions like the cleanliness of your manor, providing them with enough various luxuries to keep them happy and getting the right mansion upgrades also help.
If all else fails, let them have a rest day every now and then as well.
>>20183
Appearance can be increased temporarily with beauty mixtures, or permanently with Nature Tatoos or an Improve Apperance treatment in the laboratory.
Slaves with a starting apperance of over 40 are rare, over 60 very rare. Look for slaves with the Natural Beauty Trait and hope RNGesus is in a good mood. Not much else can be done.

Early game is the toughest.
You need a source of income and to get a few levels and basic equipment on your slaves. The slaves outside winborm won't be worth much. Fairies and dryads from the Erie forest or Nerieds/Lamia/scylla's from the beach are worth a hefty chunk of cash but tend to be level 5 to 10. Not tough fighters, so if you can avoid most of the fights getting there they can be done with little more than swords, heals and invigorates.

The most important stats the first level or two is agility which determines chance to hit and getting hit in combat. Getting the heal spell means your party can effectively keep fighting until you run out of mana, especially once you get some armor for all your slaves too.

I don't disagree with you. His art is much more finished and polished than his game design, though, and it seems clear he's more comfortable with the former. Part of that is him actually doing alpha work out in the open and wildly revising game mechanics in his open alphas--not that there's anything wrong with that, either. Games do tend to go through a lot of wild thrashing during development. His games do tend to be pretty dense mechanically.
>>27647
I was going to bump the thread to talk about this. I actually decided to give the game a try with this new release and found myself pleasantly surprised at a mostly bug-free alpha with more refined game mechanics. The gameplay loop is quite addictive to me, shame the actual sex mechanics haven't changed at all. Also combat is even more of a chore than before, but at least you can stack up all your class skills to become the ultimate whizzard and have some fun that way.

So, anyone figure out what the Devourer class actually does?

Another little bug fix and a few quality of life updates in a new version that came out today. Dropped the difficulty on enslaving the princess so it doesn't require a perfect run to succeed. Marrying her still more or less does though.

>>28267
I don't think it's combat skill is implemented. I'm guessing it's supposed to be some kind of attack, probably supposed to do dark damage, but the souleaters entry in the Classes.gd file says it shouldn't have any combat skills at all. I can't find the file that has the skills themselves to double check those.
For now, just file it away under "shit that hasn't been fully implemented yet" like the necromancers "create undead" skill.

Outside of combat, the souleater's social skills work just fine afaik.
Drain Mana does exactly what you'd think, takes some of the target's mana and gives it to the caster.
Consume Soul kills the target and gives it's XP to the caster. Not that many places you need something like that, atm. If Maveric makes places you can hunt high level slaves, I can see a use for this though.

I like this game, but a lot of it feels like an afterthought. You can have slaves work as whores like in a brothel management game, but there's no actual brothel management and there's not much detail (if any) in the sex vignettes, which makes that just another way of gaining money. The companions and VN-like parts of the game seemed to get the most thought and time, which is saying something. I feel like the guy just tried to do too much and got spread a little too thin; a lot of ideas that ought to work well together but none of them really developed or fleshed out enough to be really satisfying.

I think there's a lot of framework, but it's just framework and the guy has been building it for years. I like certain aspects of the game, like being able to use custom pictures for your slaves, but you're right. There's just not a lot of meat to these bones.

That said, I just finished a 3rd playthrough so what the fuck, I'm still having fun somehow. This time I enslaved the princess, which was a lot easier than marrying her. Shame I couldn't bend her over during her speech just to make a point.

New version of Conquest out. Mostly bug fixes, Daisy's questline reworked, a few extra upgrades added to the mansion, including more luxury rooms (the ones you can assign slaves to so their obediance doesn't decrease over time) and number times per day you can have sex with your slaves. Most importantly though, reduced the delay when advancing time, which had a tendency to get very long as you get far into the game.

Difference in goal and game mechanics. In the first game things were pretty small, you had your girls doing odd jobs around the world and sold the ones that you didn't like enough to keep. In the sequel you run a slave empire of girls collecting stuff for you to then mass produce products to sell to the market with the end goal of marrying(enslaving) the princess of the kingdom and no longer being forced to pay taxes. Basically if you want to think about it, the first game is more focused on odd jobs and prostitution, whereas the second game is focused on collecting, crafting, and killing to make mad bank.

I have yet to play that copy of the game so it was 100% fresh, hence why they didn't appear. Yes they did get removed in Conquest, for reasons stated later. I don't think it'd be too hard to mod it in, since visual age has no gameplay impact outside of some fluff in descriptions, which are customizable for the most part. You still need to assign slaves to jobs, if thats what you mean. Just like in strive 1.
The main difference is that in the first game, the only resource you could assign slaves to get where money, where strive2 has added different mats for crafting and there is now time requirements for the jobs and merchants won't sell unlimited amounts of everything you need to craft. Strive 1's alchemy system is pretty much the basis for the crafting system in strive 2.
A bigger difference is managing classes and social skills to keep everyone in line in 2.
I love how a lot of things buy and sell for the same price but when it comes to beer it sells for less than half of what you have to spend to buy it. Which also makes it pointless to craft it for money because you'd make more money, and faster, by just getting a raw material like wood that sells for more.

If you marry her, does she still show up as a slave? I thought I did marriage but since it counts her as a slave and not a peon I'm unsure. Can you still get the elf either way?

Has anyone tried acquiring the princess with a female MC? I'd prefer some assurances that it's possible before trying because of how long it takes.

It would be neat if there were alternate artwork for the sex scenes, but I doubt it exists now or even that it will in the future (This all assumes they even let you go through with it as female.)

In this case, marriage is functionally no different from slavery. You do get a slightly altered ending cutscene however, and it's quite funny to functionally gaslight her into the romance path.

IIRC you can only get the elf if you marry her and have the best possible favour for both the elf and the princess.

I kinda like the first better still, second feels barebones still but we'll see, the guy knows how to do a bit of different writing when it comes to personalities and all for the other characters and hopefully he'll pull through the sequel.
Is it me or are enemy buffs broken on an endless 5 turns? Pretty gay when you run into an enemy with permanent 92 Evasion because their buff never expires.
Replies: >>38552
>>38551
Combat in this game eventually devolves into vapourizing the enemy party in 1-2 turns with spell nuke. I've never encountered about a situation where enemy buffs can stack that high, but I did recent see something like that on the itch.io forum. They agree that it's a bug but one you shouldn't meet if you were playing optimally.
Replies: >>38684
>>38552
It's enemies with special traits that buff various stats. 2 different buffs can improve their evasion, and unfortunatetly they can stack. They also don't time out, so you just have to try to reduce their evasion or keep attacking until you get lucky and hit. If its something that can do a lot of damage when it strikes back, just hope you can last long enough.
I think the distraction debuff can reduce an enemy's evasion by 20 or 30 points, but you have to hit them with the ability, so that's not much help. Maybe buffs that can improve your own hit rate?
Replies: >>38714
>>38684
They are broken then, because I've also found a spider with an Evasion north of 110.

Until they're removed, set to expire, or an auto-hit ability to remove these buffs is implemented I'm considering the combat unplayable without cheating.

Looking in the files there actually was an ability called Disruption Shot, but the dev helpfully commented it out so you wouldn't have some recourse against these enemies (This is still assuming you could hit them with it and that it worked on these otherwise permanent buffs.)

How do you enslave the princess? Is it the mind control option? If so, how do I find Xari? The Mage Guild leader says to go find them but I have no idea where they are.
Replies: >>38961
>>38959
The mind control thing is mentioned but doesn't actually appear in the game for whatever reason. Instead, the player has I think 3 routes, one where you
>convince the princess to marry you and the elf to join you, must sex up the elf on first encounter, treat the princess nicely, and have a high amount of sex and charisma stat
>convince the princess and/or elf to join as slaves, must treat them both nicely, and not fufill the stat requirement
>fuck everything up and default the princess to choose death, and of course you won't even get the elf in this case
Replies: >>39026

AFAIK, after the princess quest is over that's the end of the story. There's plans for more, but given how slowly this dev updates I think you're better of revisiting this in a year or so if that's what you're hoping for or modding it yourself
Replies: >>39026
>>38961
The mind control option requires you to back to the leader of the mage's guilds sister, IF you got the mages guilds support earlier when you doing the ellection support missions earlier in the game. I don't recall if you actualy had to get the sister laid or not to get her help latter on when you need the mind control option. If you get her to help you, she will give you a ring you have to give to the princess to mind control her.

There's some other points too if my memory serves, like a bracelet you can find after one of the fights with the rebels, but I can't recall them all off the top of my head. The itch.io forum has a longer thread about the specifics if you want a comprehensive.

>>39016
The game is still WIP, this the point the plot has gotten to so far. The orc talks about stuff going on in orc territory and some of the stuff with the elves, sounds like plot threads that will be developed further in future plotlines, so wait for Maverik to put more stuff in, I guess.
There have been a few patches for Conquest, up to version 0.5.5b.

New is a few quests post the rebel plot and I think there's a few events too.
Also a major revamp of how combat skills are handled, where you only get a few from classes and the rest have to be bought for points earned along with xp, including several new ones, like AoE fire damage spells and ressurection spells.
Also also some changes to certain classes, specifically Healer renamed to Acolyte, with classes for Monk, Priest and Bishop added.
Also also also, marriage system, for that special waifu.

Version 0.6.0b is out now.
It says it has added some new recruitable characters and made the post rebellion side quest of aire playable. So that's at least some new content.
They have also changed the time system to 4 turns a day rather than 1 turn per hour. Not sure what the point of that is.
Replies: >>44047
>>44042
Oh wow. I actually thought the turn per hour was one of its worst aspect. I liked the first ones' abstract system much more.
There was so much clicking through the hours without anything happening.
Replies: >>44129
>>44047
The clicking wasn't that bad if you just set it to 8 hour increments. But with the old system, you wasted far less time on travel to and from quest locations and dungeons.
The new system just means that 1 turn = 6 hours instead of letting you set how many hours you want. So when a week starts and you get 3 "go kill something at X place" quests and a quest dungeon, instead of dealing with it all in one day, since it's usually only 1-2 hours travel per place, you now have to spend 2-3 days doing the same work.
I guess thats just the autist in me that likes to use the time efficiently.

BTW, got a new recruitable character from an event in the mages guild after the rebellion plot.
Some boring human girl with high marks for growth, wit and magic. Can make for a useful walking artillery piece, if you still need one at that point.

It IS the "SfP2" or rather "Strive: Conquest" they're talking about.
Decided to give strive 2 another look over the weekend. I can't remember when I last played it but it was a long time ago and it's definitely more of a game now. At least has a better foundation than the first game, though it still seems really buggy and unpolished, and modding the first game is probably better overall. Easy to softlock yourself by exiting out of menus you shouldn't be able to, and for the life of me I couldn't find or get the bracelet. Ran into multiple unimplemented or dummy abilities, both for player classes and enemies. I guess I'll circle back in another two or three years at the pace it's going.

I'm not sure I like how every slave can be raised up to the highest level in everything at once. Sure it was annoying to get slaves who just had shit caps in strive 1, but in strive 2 it just makes them all feel the same.
I think my favorite version of Strive was the earliest, Twine-like browser ones that was really focused on text. Once he started adding (bad) sprite art, it fell off hard. Some of the systems from the graphical era are better, but overall as a product I like it less.

2D art games are great, but if you're going to do that you have to focus on it. Having bad 2D art for characters is worse than none at all.

Dev has been expanding the storyline (which to me shouldn't be the focus of a slave trainer) and time management is not annoying like it was before, but the sex system is still really shallow. It also removed the child-like characters as well, which is a huge L in my book. I know there was a mod that restored them back to the game but I can't find it anymore, so it might've been abandoned or removed.
I don't know what the priorities are for conquest. Again, focusing on making it more like a mix of VN with RPG elements when the core sex and training gameplay is so bare just seems to be the wrong move to me.
Replies: >>57308
>>57262
Dev is still adding different things.
Some plot stuff, sure, a fair few recruitable npc's and storylines for ones already in the game.
He added capturing slaves when raiding dungeons, beyond the boss at the end.
Changed the system for upgrading stat caps. Instead of paying resources or xp to raise the cap, now you have to sacrifice another npc with the stat cap you want to raise it.
He added traits a few months back, and an item for removing unwanted traits that drops in high end dungeons. Also more craft able stuff.
A system was made for learning sexual positions and such was also implemented, so slaves need more training. Tied in with the new prostitution system lets you increase the girls money earning potential a lot, over time as she unlocks more sexual things.
Also finally implemented the system for automatically assigning portraits, assuming you have them properly tagged.

So all in all, it's growing. Slowly, but it IS still growing.
Replies: >>57353
>>57308
I mean, but is it anything worthwhile that actually makes me want to play what was supposed to be a slave trainer, and an improvement over the prequel?
>Some plot stuff, sure, a fair few recruitable npc's and storylines for ones already in the game.
Which is mostly a waste of time, once you run through their events, they become just another NPC.
>He added capturing slaves when raiding dungeons
Which was already a thing in the prequel.
>Instead of paying resources or xp to raise the cap, now you have to sacrifice another npc with the stat cap you want to raise it.
Which is just changing one type of grinding for another.
>A system was made for learning sexual positions and such was also implemented, so slaves need more training
But the sex system is as shallow as it ever was, so now it feels like you have to grind more to get more of the same bland sex options unlocked.
>Also finally implemented the system for automatically assigning portraits
Which has been a mod ever since the last game. I mean, good on the dev for actually making it part of the game at least.
See what I mean? The developer doesn't have the right priorities when working on this game, they seem to be focused on the RPG and VN aspects of the game when the sex, training and slave management aspects of the game have barely had any considerable improvements since the sequel came out. Like, if you just want to play it for the porn (not counting the VN), there's pretty much no difference between playing the prequel and conquest.
>>57259
It's never gonna be good.
The dev has completely reoriented his stylistic and design decisions to cater to the patreon crowd, and his outright pandering has resulted in a gross superficialization of the actual content that matters.

Everything in it - and I mean everything in it is now a trope, a stereotype, or pure fan service. There's very little that's actually original or interesting, and what little there is is overshadowed by the complete lack of creative spark that made the original interesting.

When it comes to management, power and conquest are smaller scale homestead management type of games. You have your little plot of land that you pay upkeep on and have to get a workforce to afford that upkeep and then the food to feed your workers and rooms to house them. It's all small scale and usually very easily auto piloted after the first few weeks.

Like the other anons said, it focuses more on quests and combat with some currently barebones interactions with your slaves.
lol i played this game again

you get a virgin slave, you imagine you'd train her like in era, right? no, you can just "subdue" her and then rape and rape and rape and rape straight vaginal virginal sex over and over until she loves it. no need to do the actual training part

>>63207
But that's what you do in eratohok as well. Honestly it makes more sense to me as effective slave training to jump straight to the heavy stuff than spending days caressing your slave.

That said it's true that the sex, not to mention relationships, in Strive is extremely barebones.

Replies: >>63223
>>63215
There are no hate marks in K (which the Strive sex system is aping) and while you do have to avoid mind-breaking them it doesn't happen that easily. The hate marks used by many other era games are just annoying since it's never quite clear exactly when you can take things to the next stage and they're a pain to get rid of. And, again, I find putting the bitch in her place both more compelling and more sensible than trying to coax a slave with "here, doesn't it feel goos when I touch you like this?"

And yeah, Strive doesn't really have various kinds of relationships, like tracking love and submission separately, so obviously she grows to love it because that's the only direction to progress.
Replies: >>63225 >>63615

The dev has a Patreon, of course he's going to try and minimize the rape as much as possible. It's more surprising that he didn't get rid of it entirely like he did loli, but it would be a pretty shitty slave management game if the slaves got to decide whether sex happens.
Replies: >>63813
>>63223
It depends on the game. In some of them it can be a lot quicker to beat/rape the girl into submission and then deal with the hate marks afterwards, than to slowly ease her into it.

Have milking machines ever been modded back into Conquest? Pretty dumb that you can have a stable of cow girls but no option to milk them.
I've been playing the first one a lot recently. I like how far you can take raising slaves, but I wish there were more reasons to do it. The slave request for doll like slaves got me exploring the system a bit for example.
>Got a random virgin elf with natural beauty traits, monogamous, and moderately high look stat
>Used the lab to give her a beauty enhancement and modify her body description to be more in line with my tastes
>Still under max beauty so I added beauty tattoos (clear ink because I am not a fan of the way tattoos look)
>Raised her grade to a noble, personally trained her until every mental stat was capped (training her wit first to get more learning in each session as we went), and got her specialized as a high grade sex specialist (geisha)
>Started the process of taking her courage, confidence, and wits to 0 while maintaining her charm at cap
>Had more tutoring sessions and banked a bunch of learning points
>Handcuffed her so she couldn't run in the night, then I constantly ridiculed her causing mind break after mind break until every mental stat was 0.
>Used the banked learning points to max charm again
>Branded her with one of the advanced brands, forced her into no masturbation, and drugged her with high grade aphrodisiacs until she developed the sex crazed trait
>Took her back to the slave market and had them revoke the noble status I'd given her to get her charm maxed and geisha job
>She kept the charm and job, but now that she is a slave again she doesn't bug me for better rooms or living conditions at all
Was there a reason to do all that? Probably not. But, I had fun. Also, I realized later I could take it way farther if I wanted. While the pregnancy system is cool at a glance, it is kind of game changing if you realize you can have one slave get another pregnant by inviting both to bed at once and forcing them to go at it together. The kid will inherit traits from both (including unique traits on story characters that don't show up on any random slaves.), the beauty of the best looking parent (which includes the lab modified stat. So you can repeatedly breed and magically enhance a line for maxed out base line beauty eventually), and the social caste (so a noble mother will birth a noble baby). All this means I could have spent time building an entire eugenics program to start the process if I wanted.
I added Aric's mod compilation on after that playthrough, and it ramps the breeding up a few more levels. It adds tools to cycle through generations way faster in ingame time and percentage based race inheritance with some specific recipes for unique races (such as succubi being a hybrid 50%+ demon and 40%+ bunny race). The new consent system (having to get them to say yes to individual things like being okay having sex, being okay with incest, and being okay with getting pregnant) was a little bit off putting at first, but it got a lot better when I remembered that it was optional anyways and that there were a lot of tools to get them to say yes in the first place (aphrodisiacs, mind weakening spells, etc). Adding more lines in the sand for me to plow through without care or manipulate them through using shady methods has actually been kind of fun.
