Closing the other meta thread for posterity and because it's close to the bump limit.

Questions, concerns, or unhinged bitching about this being the worst version of /hgg/ yet go here.

I'd personally recommend 750 as a starting point, given some of the extremely long threads before. *

* Which it seems you have done. BTW, you might consider locking all the old threads larger than that amount of posts here, so you don't end up having "dangling posts" that no one else ever sees (since b/c autosage they don't bump).

BTW, I'd also recommend you change Manage > Settings > Antispam > Captcha Mode from "Captcha for all posts" (as being too restrictive), to "Captcha for new thread" .

Seems reasonable, done

I set the reply limit to 750 to, to avoid that.

Heh, I didn't realize it would be restricted. In Lynxchan you can still post beyond the autosage limit, just the thread won't bump. Thanks, BO! :)

Welcome, /hgg/
Welcome from /comfy/ new neighbors.

Well, you have 2 limits in jschan, bump limit after which you can still post it just won't be bumped (aka autosage), and reply limit after which the thread gets locked and allows no new posts. If you set bump and reply limit to the same, you practically have no autosage and the thread gets auto locked as soon as it reaches the limit.
So personally I'd set bump limit slightly lower, so anons still can finish whatever discussion they were having instead of suddenly being forced to create a new thread (which they might not notice as there's no new thread watcher) when they reach the limit, but that's just my 2 cents.

Ahh, thanks Admin! That's better than the awkward arrangement I've been used to.

No that's totally great advice. Should the occasion arise, I'll definitely use your suggestion.

The more you know.
