Star Wars as written by Joe Bongiorno is a funny thing. It can be seen as Star Wars at its most esoteric, strange, and even horrific. It can be described at its best as the Star Wars answer to the Silmarillion, at its worst as barely-sanctioned fanfiction. Whatever these stories are, you can't read them without having an opinion on them.
I remember reading the initial draft years ago, and while some silly things remain (or were added), much still holds up, and editing has improved how it reads. As a lover of history and a dabbler in myth, it tickles my fancy on a number of levels. Its art direction is also something else.
