Just found out about this (it was announced like back in February)
It seems Hasbro & Jazwares are collaborating to bring the line back

I never really owned any (cept some Zbots, which were tangentially related to MM)
Also, Hasbro & Jazwares are not exactly my favourite toy companies.

Neither do I own any of the originals, however the new ones look rather dull and lack detail. Maybe later waves will be better.

I can understand about Hasbro, but I'm curious to hear why you dislike Jazwares? I think their Fortnite line is pretty great and clearly there's effort and thought put behind it and the same can be said on the upcoming AEW (All Elite Wrestling) line. I'm really looking forward to their Halo line, specifically the 3.75" chicken-leg aliens and purple spaceships when .

Neat, do you got some pics?

I'm sure Hasbro will find a way to mess this up. They'll probably have half the paint apps and with how bad the MM SW line was the QC will barely exist. They maybe put out one toy a year I actually like now.

They earned a bad reputation of lousy QC with their Sonic & Adventure Time lines, and the infamous Regular Show episode that attacked the series action figures(CN handed over the license without consulting anyone on the show itself). But Regular Show attacking anything is like vomit insulting feces.

They're not involved with the production, they only get license fees, just like they do with Basic Fun Repro MLP G1.

Oh, that was a long time ago, they've vastly improved since then.

Most of the 2020 wave 1 are popping up on ebay
Feel kinda meh

Pretty much sums it up. They stupidly relied too much on the brand recognition - nostalgia cash-in which will fail because these aren't repro and in fact inferior to the original product, meaning kids and adult collector alike would most likely just ignore them. It's really odd they didn't just allow them to make repros like they did with Basic Fun Strawberry Shortcake and MLP.

what bothers me is that they can do that with any other old brand like "Monsters in my Pocket" or even Xevoz

>Remove one of the biggest draws of the line (miniature replicas of actual cars)
>Shitty 'chase' cars
>Market them as being like the original line but instead they're more cartoony, chunkier, and simplistic
>Nothing to grab people's interest asides from nostalgia
I'm aware licensing deals aren't always viable/desirable, but they could've worked around that and still made more realistic, scaled cars. Also why go to the effort of chase cars and just make 2 chromed cars. Why not release a blind bag series (all the rage right now) that caters to children with pocket money whilst also working as impulse buys for adult collectors?

I only care about the military series of Micromachines. Come back when they release that again, which is doubtful in today's pozzed culture.

Damn I forgot that they neglected military vehicles in this wave. They're probably trying to avoid 'tying' them to a specific gender, but why bother when toy cars are already boys toys?

Owned by Mattel
>Xevoz
Wasn't a big hit (despite being cool toyline) and came out in the 2000's.

I'd really love to see Hasbro bringing back Action Man, but I know they will just make him as shampoo bottle, sigh.

>Why not release a blind bag series
Because it won't go along with the nostalgia pandering, I mean the packaging is the only thing that resemble to the original toys.

I agree it's really sad they took the license only to make bland cars with fancy packaging.

Anon it's all good that you like military toys, but please don't delve deeply into political commentary, we're here to discuss toys. The big/major toy companies may no longer make military toys, but I know Lanard Toys and Cobi do, maybe you should check them out.

>>472
Nah, I think they just try to focus at first on the basic line. Girl toys are still allowed to be girly outside of shitty Barbie and obscure "educational" garbage and I believe the same can be said on boy toys, it just they have been quite shitty in recent years.

Zbots were part of MM, only lasted like 2 or 3 years, but you never know if they might want to go nostalgia pandering on them too.
