Alcoholism, extreme escapism, overmedication, overeating, and suicide are all non-solutions with detrimental and worsening effects to this societal problems at large. The subject here is simply this specific topic since this is an anime board.

Ah, so the love God has for man and man has for God?
What is this "universal love" stuff? That doesn't mean anything and sounds like stuff a hippie would say since it makes no sense without context or reference. The verb form of agape is mostly just generic love, the noun form is the relevant and actually well-known form you refer to, and its very difficult to excise God from the equation otherwise.
And God, unlike mankind, is perfect, but God's love extends to women too.
And women can love and be good people, believe it or not. The sad part is this shouldn't be ridiculous, but I understand society is full of shit and awful people, and especially awful, spiteful, vindictive, selfish, rotten, lying women.
But there are women out there which do have love and kindness in their hearts, and acting like there is no such thing as a good woman is frankly, ridiculous.
At the end of the day, this shit we're seeing is clearly playing pretend, and one has to wonder (and imo, can easily conclude) that yes, these people do care about it and wouldn't be creating fictional alternatives if they didn't need it.
People don't want to put in the effort to find a good woman anymore or deal with rejection and pain, and its understandable considering the circumstances (and I would know), but that doesn't make it a solution by any means, and to pretend like indulging your delusions to an unhealthy extent is not detrimental is just asking for trouble.
Its one thing if you separate fantasy from reality, and accept

Unlike you however, I am not shitposting and am engaging in good faith and understanding. This wasn't really intended to be a religious discussion (though I think its extremely difficult to excise God from any discussion concerning real love), but I'll posit this point to you:

Before blindly following belief systems, you should consider the lives and actions of the people who propose them to you in question.
I myself have some issues, but I intend to get my own life in order and have made progress towards that. I myself am very imperfect, so I'm not in much of a position to judge outside of the extremely obvious stuff that anyone can see here.
