There are a number of reasons, as far as I'm aware
>The lead devs (coder and writer) were retards
>The project was basically carried in the artist's shoulders
>The devs demand way too much from the artist
>Money runs short
>Artists decides to leave
>Whole thing falls apart
Patreon was a big reason, sure, but the game development had a lot more troubles along the way than just that, and the result is the rushed ending, but not a really bad one at that. As proof, the dev's future projects generally fail, for a combination of stupid writing and terrible management, either by having bad relations with artists (Erolon), not having a good scope of things, or generally just having terrible ideas. First pic is what "Insexual Awakening 2" looks like, it's not nearly as popular as IA1 was, and it isn't only because of the terrible art, and even then, I'm sure people browsing Koikatsu threads know that koikatsu can be way better, but... These devs always invest the bare minimum in their efforts.
That being said, Incestral Awakening is a good game for what it is, even though it could have been better, and it IS finished. This leads me to

I agree with you both, which is exactly why I want to make that kind of board, so shit like this can be discussed, what's good about games, what's wrong about them, how they could improve, etc. The only way to improve, in my opinion, even in a small niche circle, without relying on cesspools like fag95zone. Especially because I'm a dev myself, and I'm really tired of brain damaged retards.
