Originally Vladek was to have a minion, the shadow knight, who specialised in cunning and traps. He would become Karzon in wave 3 while Lego opted to make the shadow knights corrupted Morcian knights that were mass-produced by Vladek.

That's all I can find for Knights Kingdom II. I'll always be disappointed that the budget was so limited and was spent on the story, so the sets suffered because of it. Some of these ideas, properly translated into Lego, would've blown away all the other themes at the time.

Never realised how much I wanted this until now

After seeing the pirates art it'd be cool if a bunch of toy companies got together to make a movie that's essentially Infinity War but with toys. Maybe the lack of a child to play with them has seen the toys break down into tribes all fighting for control. The Lego has holed themselves up in a well-built fort while occasionally launching raiding parties to look for bootlegos to purge

This art of the 2004 Alpha Team Blue Eagle has the drone using the old 2001 design, with red instead of dark red, a belt, and no spider in the chest.
Apparently the photo with the old drone was used in some manuals and promos.
The box has the updated design, and uses the smaller picture in one of the sides, I wonder if they fixed it.

And speaking of sloppiness, It appears the Alpha team Agents got their heads and colors swapped for deep freeze  (Diamond Tooth, Crunch's replacement, has a face that looks like OG Charge's but with the print of a bandana by his side. Flex's big smile may have been turned into a smirk for the more seriou line, but that head was given to Charge who is red now, and Flex's new head looks like Crunch because o his wide mouth) Plus everyone wears shades except the only guy to wear in the original.
Special mention to Arrow, Cam's replacement. His yellow color may come from Cam not wearing sleeves, or Dash's Black transferred to him as yellow, while Cam's red went to Charge, and his blue to Dash. Also his hi-tech visor may have carried over from Cam's specs; and is the only other fig in the team to have hair besides Radia, does that mean he was meant to be a girl?

Those discrepancies have always annoyed me.

-Danju hasyellow hands
-Rascus has the wrong visor
-Danju, Jayko and Vladek have the wrong type of swords

I believe nobody else on the internet is aware of this info, but I stumbled across what appeared to be proof that Knights Kingdom II was meant to have an animated series to accompany it.

This pretty much shows that KKII is the most important theme post-2000 as it lays out the blueprint for the approach Lego would take to following themes:
-card game
-fleshed out lore with named characters and a timeline
-a group of colour-coded heroes with specific powers/abilities
-comic series
-book series
-animated series
You can see all of these elements in Ninjago  which is the biggest System theme released. These probably came from Bionicle which was an immediate success and the failing TLG  reused the core elements of this in their attempt at turning the company around
