How many have you played, if any? Generally speaking I'm quite sour with TT after the unfinished mess that was the Hobbit game. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they have a day-one DLC for that one? What sad times we must be living in where even Lego is not safe from the ravages of the modern video game market.
Anyway, holy shit do I wish they would do my ideas for Lego games, which they have done a bit of in LotR and Clone Wars. I also want to see Legos torture and murder each other, and I DO NOT want them speaking anything comprehensible. I want to crucify Lego dissidents for the glory of my Lego empire. I want to massacre entire cultures that happened to be in my way. Kids would eat that shit up because kids like edge, and parents generally don't give a fuck anymore what their children play. How would an E/E10+ FPS fair, do you think? Lego Sims-clone?

There's an active decompilation effort going on too and many of the in-game tracks in their original quality were discovered some years ago. The first game is a nostalgic one for many people, it's a bit surreal honestly but very cute. The sequel is much more of a game though.

I was watching this and quite frankly, I think I prefer the way some of the stages look in the original Lego Star Wars over Complete Saga, it has a moodier look that fits better with the atmosphere and the time this was released, meanwhile Complete Saga is way too bloomy.

Something about the original demo of the prequel trilogy lego game felt so captivating the first time I played it back in the day. The presentation just had something fun about it. It kinda took itself seriously while still having LEGO's own touch of humor. It was rough around the edges compared to the final game but it was really fun even for a demo. You can tell they really had fun making it.

I had no idea that there was a demo, it's nice to get a look at the game in its development stage. Thanks for sharing!

Very cozy looking and nicely done, I really like the one with the little dirtbike on the back.

That's pretty funny but I'm a bit sad because from the thumb I thought it was a set with multi shaped pieces of a single color. Something like that would be pretty useful.

I don't know where to start exactly. The set I got was the rose with baby's breath set >>1441
I'm not sure if it was a good first set to experience the Botanicals theme since it, obviously, pretty one note and there's also a lot of repetition. All of the others I've seen either have only a few flowers of the same type or a huge bouquet of many different kinds. The roses are quite pretty though.

Despite it having a large number of pieces it went together very easy and quickly. Even though these floral sets are meant for adults and having a lot of bricks (this one had over 800) I think an older kid could put them together if they were the patient type, particularly since they can be made in stages instead of it being one single 800 piece construction. If you were getting one for a lego kid then I would pick one of the smaller floral sets or one that's more interesting like the bonsai one. The store also had a much smaller rose set that only had a couple of flowers.

One definite negative with these is that if the box doesn't prominently feature a container then that means that it doesn't come with one so you'll have to provide one yourself or build one. I haven't seen any lego vase sets yet either.

The rose petal bricks are really nice and if you were so inclined you could probably acquire a bunch of these sets to repurpose them for some

The holiday sets are excellent and I regret not committing myself to getting them. Did you buy them for yourself or were you given these as presents?

I was given 2 Harry Potter CMFs this year from my family.

Do you ever picture a specific place when you think of LEGO? Something idealized or nostalgic that makes building more exciting for you, personally.
Whenever I think of old System sets from 2006 and earlier, I always come back to the mental image of a small, cozy living room during the winter. Incandescent lights, carpeted floor, wooden furniture - just the kind of place I was at when I was young and first got into LEGO. It might sound weird, maybe pretentions, but I find that the ambience around you can be an important factor when you're delving into your imagination.

For me it's a few things. This sort of storage box for one. It's made of thick blow molded plastic so it hard but cushy at the same time. I toted this thing around all the time as a kid. I've still got mine somewhere. I need to retrieve it.
Another thing is these base plates for the pirates sets. The Pirates were my favorite themed sets as a kid, even more than Space which I loved. I always had a thing for tropical stuff. I always wanted to collect a bunch of them and make a big Lego sea with islands and beaches. Maybe I still will at some point.

Just the line you'd need for a long trip. Used to enjoy these on car trips as well.
>>1417
It feels that much more legit when you have a box just for it, doesn't it?
I also loved incorporatiing the ambience itself into the builds, such as the designs on the carpet, the design of shelves, etc.
Replies: >>1426
the boxes were awesome for portable mini storage, i might pick one up new or open on bricklink for nostalgia's sake :3
