So tell me what's the thing with ninjago and why is it still going? And what's your favourite season or set?

>I think the show really went bad when they shortened the episode length to 11 minutes
I never got why they shortened it, the show was good at having 22 minutes, you could show enough lore and action into it. The 11 minutes deel.shallow and bland, the show generally became more boring.
They explored Ninjago so much that need to make up shit. For instance why didn't the mountain people help with attacking anyone? Even the stone army which technically nearly won? It's clear that they were made up.
And the sea people? What the FUCK?
Funnilly enough we haven't explored even an inch of the dark island, they could easilly make up stuff for it without problems. But no, everything must be in Ninjago. They lost intrest in the series since the movie came. They deleted the main characters powers, with which they would defeat the sons of garmadons without a problem.
They made up bullcrap that contradocts earlier seasons and much more. And never explained change in personalities and design to appeal to the moviefags. Transformers Could do it, because they make new universes for nearly every new show. But this is the same show and the same universe.
The post-movie era is bassically Korra for ninjago

And integrate every other theme into its setting so kids have some sort of emotional link to it, making it easier to sell sets.

Cole was there from beggining if they killed him it would be problematic. But nya, she wasn't even a thing in the pilot and lloyd has been more of character then her.
But thanks for spoilering the last season, bothways I'm not gonna watch it.
>integrate every other theme into its setting so kids have some sort of emotional link to it, making it easier to sell sets.
Well that's true.
I don't even like the fact that they use the nudesigns in the legacy sets.
But I don't get why they didn't continue with the ninjago spinijitsu game.

I'm not mad actually, nor I'm acting the Victor. I was serious with it that I wouldn't watch it. I hate the post-S7 designs and story.
Also have you read the way of the departed?

I wonder what happened to all those Lego sets on the shelves. I know they were sold, but how many kids did they make happy? I wonder where they are now, whether they're still in the hands of their original owners, even if long forgotten about in storage, or were they sold on to make more children happy? Have all of these sets managed to survive to this day or have brave Lego men been sent to the bin after being played with too much and eventually broken?

>illegal building techique
Surprisingly, this is technically a legal build. Lego has incorporated a Technic pin / 1x1 brick with studs on 5 sides into numerous builds, because the open space inside the studs allows the pin to sit inside the brick without being stressed (this doesn't work inside a normal brick because the extended areas on the lips of the pin stick out farther than the inner space of the brick).

My fishman uses the same method; the two lips of the pin rest inside the open studs (concealed by the 1x1 eye pattern tiles).

To my knowledge, Lego only uses this technique with the SNOT brick that has studs on five sides; this is probably because kids can assemble it without any specific positioning and the piece can spin more or less freely and will normally settle in a position that doesn't stress the pin. As I said, mine is "technically" a legal build because I made the effort of aligning the pin lips to the gaps formed by the open studs

I was joking, my friend, its a very nice build. Very creative use of an otherwise relatively useless part (the Batman cowl)
Replies: >>1199
>>1197
Thanks! I intentionally set out to use that piece for something else, and after I flipped it around in my hands a few times I realized it looked like fishman jowls.

Also for the record it's a Batgirl cowl, which is why it has the bar extension on the back to attach her ponytail.

Fair enough, I never got any of the Batgirl figures. My last Batman set was the two-tone Twoface armoured car set.
I'm adding "Make a stained-glass window" to the list of challenges.

Season 4 was pretty easy to get through despite some repetitive 'use your app, kids!' scenes. The powers don't even do anything in the show besides initiating a generic 'armor glows and they're suddenly better at fighting' scene. Aaron (archer dude) actually gets some proper character development without having to rely on the plot, Clay has the obvious plot twists to his story as the 'main character'. Pity the rest pretty much stay the same, the villains still feel like they have more personality. The season has a proper ending, but they left a few 'to be continued' parts and I can imagine why fans would feel robbed after the next season never got to be (despite there being a wave of sets based on it).

AR apps are cursed.

Minidolls! First released in 2012, they were exclusively used in the "girl" lines until The Lego Movie 2, after which time they immediately went back to being exclusively used in the girl lines. Minidolls have fewer points of articulation than minifigs and are thus more challenging to customize. Let's see your custom minidolls!

The Elves sets were cool, I still want to use the giant animal heads as arm cannons for a mech. Or some fucked up hydra monstrosity.

>Hidden Side has ghost characters you can unlock by playing the Ghost Mode in-game, including the bosses shown on set boxes (Playing Ghost Mode is free and doesn't require having a set btw, it's actually more fun than being a Ghost Hunter). I love when LEGO puts in little easter eggs and references like that. I want Tony Stark's Sakaarian Iron Man almost purely for Tony's torso alone. (Also, mech parts.)

Unrelated note, but when it comes to LEGO and lore there's two types of universes:
>Non-Brick Built
Shows that act like normal fiction, the only actual LEGO thing being the characters.
This includes shows like Ninjago, Nexo Knights, Monkie Kid, City Adventures.

>Brick-Built
>Things are made out of LEGO and it's treated as normal. Objects tend to break apart into bricks & pieces, characters can detach their hairpieces (on purpose or accidentally) and the main characters have the ability to build things out of LEGO parts. (Thanks to the LEGO Movie I assume these characters are so-called 'Master Builders'.)
Things like The LEGO Movie franchise (including the Ninjago Movie, hence the differences with the show) and licensed shows like Marvel/DC/Jurassic Park count under this.

I've been wondering, you hear about figurines manufacturer all the time, things like those guys who create custom Warhammer statuettes and the like, but I've never seen LEGO specialists.

Basically what I'm asking is:
-What are the tools used by LEGO modders to make their own brick sets and Lego people?
-Are there online tools?
-Are there behind the scenes into LEGO creation? As in, videos of the creative process behind designing a set/legokin, marketing/focus groups and actual production thereof?
-Who are the LEGO engineers that decide how many bricks should a building have?

This pretty much shows that KKII is the most important theme post-2000 as it lays out the blueprint for the approach Lego would take to following themes:
-card game
-fleshed out lore with named characters and a timeline
-a group of colour-coded heroes with specific powers/abilities
-comic series
-book series
-animated series
You can see all of these elements in Ninjago which is the biggest System theme released. These probably came from Bionicle which was an immediate success and the failing TLG reused the core elements of this in their attempt at turning the company around
