So tell me what's the thing with ninjago and why is it still going? And what's your favourite season or set?

I've spent the latter half of 2020 watching through the series to figure out what the fuzz was all about. Ninjago's just another one of those action shows with color-coded heroes and way too much inconsistent lore. Still, the cartoon is one of its main selling points and fans went rabid every time the series seemed to end on a season. I don't think it had any real competition during its running time either, so I can figure it quickly became people's favorite childhood memory.

Of course, season 14 is already available online and season 15 comes right after. I don't know why the hell this show keeps going, I actually resent it a little for eating up every other IP LEGO could've had. The lore gets changed every damned time just to fit the crappy writing, and I wish Jay would die for drama already. No character is as unfunny as him, it's even acknowledged in the show itself that a lot of people just generally hate him.

>I don't think it had any real competition during its running time either
I think this is its main draw- for the longest time maybe even to this day, I'm not too up on /co/ knowledge these days, it was basically the only action cartoon targeted at kids. Coupled with above-superficial amounts of lore and worldbuilding and an appealing theme, it seems mostly like LEGO hit an autism vein and (probably wisely) hasn't let go since it hasn't dried up yet. I don't really hate the theme, but it's not great either.

Well I personally didn't like the mever seasons despite the updated animations.
Yes the lore is inconsistent, it became after season 2. Which I would argue that was originally meant to be the ending for the show. But the biggest inconsistency started with the newer seasons post the movie. They are crap in my opinion and you won't change the opinion ever.

I think the show really went bad when they shortened the episode length to 11 minutes, but I definitely agree that the movie didn't do it any favors.

I never got why they shortened it, the show was good at having 22 minutes, you could show enough lore and action into it. The 11 minutes deel.shallow and bland, the show generally became more boring.
They explored Ninjago so much that need to make up shit. For instance why didn't the mountain people help with attacking anyone? Even the stone army which technically nearly won? It's clear that they were made up.
And the sea people? What the FUCK?
Funnilly enough we haven't explored even an inch of the dark island, they could easilly make up stuff for it without problems. But no, everything must be in Ninjago. They lost intrest in the series since the movie came. They deleted the main characters powers, with which they would defeat the sons of garmadons without a problem.
They made up bullcrap that contradocts earlier seasons and much more. And never explained change in personalities and design to appeal to the moviefags. Transformers Could do it, because they make new universes for nearly every new show. But this is the same show and the same universe.
The post-movie era is bassically Korra for ninjago

And integrate every other theme into its setting so kids have some sort of emotional link to it, making it easier to sell sets.
Why the fuck didn't they kill off Cole, his VA's the one that died and not Nya's.

Cole was there from beggining if they killed him it would be problematic. But nya, she wasn't even a thing in the pilot and lloyd has been more of character then her.
But thanks for spoilering the last season, bothways I'm not gonna watch it.

Well that's true.
I don't even like the fact that they use the nudesigns in the legacy sets.
But I don't get why they didn't continue with the ninjago spinijitsu game.

Bro, I used the spoiler tag for a reason. You just straight up greentext it and act like a victim?

I'm not mad actually, nor I'm acting the Victor. I was serious with it that I wouldn't watch it. I hate the post-S7 designs and story.
Also have you read the way of the departed?
https://ninjago.fandom.com/wiki/Way_of_the_Departed
It's supposed to fill in between the S7 and S8
