Remember to follow the rules ( https://anon.cafe/lego/rules.html ) RIP https://trashchan.xyz/lego/custompage/lego_rules.html and have fun!

This thread is for any queries you may have for the board, suggestions for improvements, etc.

I know the BO was messing with the CSS, so I want to tell him that he can test features by opening up the settings and going to the CSS tab.

Ah shit, I didn't realise. Thanks man.
For my future reference, is it alright to sell things on here or would that be against the rules?

I can't actually access the rules page for whatever reason, so I'm having to ask here
>>60
It's not against the rules, but I want to make it clear that I am in no way responsible for it (i.e. if there's a problem with either the seller or buyer it isn't my responsibility to sort it out). I don't know if there's a big enough demand here and there aren't many people posting; you may be better off posting in the BST thread on 4chan's /toy/ board.

Can you try to access the rules again please? I should've sorted the issue, thanks for highlighting it.

Yep, rules are working now.

And you're right, I forgot about /bst/. I had it in my head that selling was against the rules on 4chan for some reason. Thanks.

Yeah, I liked the CSS so I unashamedly copied it. I'll iron out the kinks later. If it's awkward you can always switch the appearance from default to clear in the top bar.

Lego fonts;

You could also change the

Go ahead, but I'm a beginner at CSS. I only started tinkering with and learning about CSS after 8chan went down so you'll have to bear with my stupidity. I'm more than happy to help though and definitely interested. What exactly do you mean by technic CSS? Are you referring to the dark colour scheme of the technic boxes?

>>101
Thanks man, I've implemented your suggestions but I can't find how to implement "#postingForm th" at all and searching online doesn't bring anything up.

Are you the /server/ BO, by the way? I've been there quite regularly recently and your skills with CSS are amazing.
Replies: >>106

Yeah
I see more of fixes one could make
You just put
#postingForm th{

}
At the bottom in the style sheet and it should work, you can put in an image url where it says https://

>obvious newfag question
I wouldn't say it is, considering I implemented it first on this board. I couldn't think of a Lego-related spin on Anonymous, so I settled with Legoman. Honestly didn't think of Maniac but it would annoy me if there were two types of default for Anonymous. God forbid we have to create another board, but I think I'll switch to it.
So apparently with the site going down or something else we've lost a page or 2 of threads. If you lost your thread, I apologise for any inconveniences, and you are more than welcome to repost them

The dark green just feels too forest-like for me as well. In fact, when is LEGO releasing proper backdrop plates with various sky colors? That would be me! I don't know what's going to happen this summer. I had been buying some pretty large lots too in the past years. Then with the mild winter... Nothing got built. Alas... PLEASE READ

Ok so /lg/ has particularly deteriorated lately (not that it hasn't been going downhill over the years) and I've started to see people posting about how here is a better alternative. I really appreciate anons saying this place is a better alternative, it means a lot. What are your opinions on the rules right now? https://anon.cafe/lego/rules.html

I was thinking of introducing "no e-celeb/drama threads" because I don't see how these kind of threads are ever going to be quality. What do you guys think?
>>491
Oh and I was also thinking of including /tv/-tier posts under spam (such as anything -oomer, 'cringe', 'based', wojaks/pepe, etc)
>>491
Seems sensible. You've already got forced anon enabled so that will cut down on namefagging attempts. New arrivals must be forcefully acclimatized.

You're the boss, applesauce. Keep this place clean according to your standards and people will either make the cut or they won't. Like this anon said

>>493

The reason 4chan went to shit was because newfags weren't forced to browse /b/ until they understood how the site worked.

I don’t think I want to know. It’s up to the board owner but I think we should refrain from posting such guro of the soul.
>>491
The rules are fine, but if this place becomes an emigration destination for /toy/'s trash then the most important part becomes enforcing said rules. Yelling and throwing insults at trolls doesn't do a thing, but neither does ignoring them (that just makes them more desperate or worse, thinking their garbage is tolerated).

The pace of this board is fine for me, I don't need 24/7 'discussions' on freaking LEGO of all things. Every now and then someone posts a cool MOC or asks an interesting question, so it's all good.
Thanks for the feedback guys, the rules have been updated. Currently wanting your opinions on:

-Bootleg and clone brands. Continue to not allow it? Allow it but if contained to a single thread?
-Shitposting - should it be contained to a single thread to prevent the catalogue from being clogged?
Replies: >>511 >>513
Off-brand: Nope, if they want to talk about fake bricks they can go to that other place. /lego/ should be for LEGO. Same with shitposting, if someone is bored enough to do that here of all places it should count as spam/trolling.
Replies: >>517
>>509
I think single containment thread for bootleg is bearable.
Replies: >>517
>>509
/pbbg/ moves slowly enough that I don't see a need for it here.

Dude what. Let's trade.
The dark blue used in the OP background (#26365a) is too dark and makes the black text hard to read. Could you make it a bit lighter?
Replies: >>616 >>622

OK, could you try out this:

.opCell, #divThreads>.unhideButton, .catalogCell, .floatingMenu, .modalDecorationPanel, #actionsForm details[open], #postingForm {
  background: #2d406c;
  border: 1px solid #000000;
  border-radius: 10px;
}

Just put it into the CSS box by going to settings in the nav bar at the top. If it still doesn't work I can make it lighter, my eyes are a bit funny so what seems fine to me is awkward for others.

I'm really sorry for abandoning this board, 2020 was an unbelievably bad year for me and I haven't had any time to myself. I've been stuck in some sort of limbo for the better part of the year and it's felt like one long unending nightmare. I'm going to really give it a go this year and get the board going again, and I especially want to give a massive thank you to the anons that have still stuck with the board despite how quiet it's been here.

I was thinking that rule 1 should be dropped in favour of allowing NSFW material but containing it to a thread and enforcing spoilers on it. Figured we have to have some advantage over 4chan if we want to attract people and that's one thing I've had complaints about. Hot glue would still be banned though because that it's disgusting.

>>1349
its inlined under <head> utilities werent picking it up
body {
  display: flex;
  flex-direction: column;
  background: #555 url("https://trashchan.xyz/asset/lego/e44afaf6ecd08fde099c920d8ea94470cca0287a072deb99af7254f2a17ef3e5.png");
  color: #FCD202;
}
can you change it to
body {
  display: flex;
  flex-direction: column;
  background: #555 url("/asset/lego/e44afaf6ecd08fde099c920d8ea94470cca0287a072deb99af7254f2a17ef3e5.png");
  color: #FCD202;
}
or take the suggestion here >>1352
>>1352
please stop shoving >1kb into css with |base64
its already bad enough being inlined at <head>

How's this for a pattern, then?

Can everyone see the background now?

>>1356
Yes
>>1355
that works
fair use for base64
>>1356
yes thanks bo
you might consider using this in base64 >>1355 the next migration if youre still here
might as well put in a custom cursor like a red slab too kek
body {
    cursor: url('/asset/lego/hash.png'), auto;
}
or use base64 if it isnt that big
fitting for this board

Now that's an idea.

No it's fine I'm still putting the final touches on the CSS. Also you forgot the code again.

Thanks for those. I was considering what to do about the spoiler.
I'm going to say /lego/'s CSS is now complete unless anyone else has any suggestions or tweaks.

The only other thing I can think of is some trick to make the first post of a thread solid but everyone seems to be having trouble with that right now.

The legoman red is clashing with the blue a little. May I suggest #ff4c4c?
Replies: >>1378
Just after having posted that I realized that the little title frames were missing

>>1377
Better? I'm also considering making the board title an image for the exact same reason.

Very nice.
>>1366
had things to do my bad
here but this is modern
input[type=text] {
    cursor: url('i-bar.png'), auto;
}

input[type=password] {
    cursor: url('i-bar.png'), auto;
}

a[href] {
    cursor: url('hover.png'), auto;
}

a.close.postform-style {
    cursor: url('hover.png'), auto;
}

.post-check {
    cursor: url('hover.png'), auto;
}

.nav-item {
    cursor: url('hover.png'), auto;
}

.collapse {
        cursor: url('hover.png'), auto;
}

select {
    cursor: url('hover.png'), auto;
}
im not sure about a.close.postform-style and select but this is the general idea
i-bars arent easy you can use time.post-date.reltime for the time but text inside posts doesnt have anything to select other than the hrefs
if you can use filter: and transform: on cursor: that be useful like changing the red slab to a green one forgot if that was possible
ive never had to do it reusing the same base64 should be fine it will get compressed otherwise intelligent browsers reload the same image thats already loaded

you already know this but adapt the indent to the codeing style already used

OK thanks. This will be my next course of business.
If anyone wants to submit bricks for cursor usage please do so in this thread.
I noticed this because of the lewd thread mainly because someone posted a disgusting soyjak image, please remove it but every image that may have been spoilered back in cafe is unspoilered here.
And speaking of the cafe, the OP links to it for the rules. Do you remember the rules and if so can you put them elsewhere?

OK I'll work on spoilering them.
>Do you remember the rules and if so can you put them elsewhere?
No I don't but I'll see if archive.org has a copy of the rules page and try update them here.

Wait where do I put rules? Is that what the custom pages setting is for?

These are the rules:

 Rules of /lego/
1 : Do not post any bootleg or clone brands
2 : Do not promote raids or doxxing
3 : Do not spam
4 : Do not sign your posts with a name, avatar, signature, or any variations thereof
5 : Do not submit low quality, inflammatory or off-topic posts
6 : Do not post anything NSFW outside of the specified NSFW thread and unspoilered

Remember that no matter the rules of the board, all global rules apply

I'm thinking of rewording or altering rule 1 because we've got a nanoblock thread. What do the other anons think?
Technically I guess nanoblocks aren't knockoffs since they are at a different scale and aren't interchangeable with Lego.

rule 1 is overkill in current times
rule 4 discards using rule 1 as a shitposting loophole but i doubt the community cares if its funny and has effort behind it
besides one blackwashed stud is shitposting right now using something official
never thought i see shitposting over b*onic* again in my life
rule 5 is overkill with spoilers but i think it can stay the way it is
heres a verbose proposal
Rules of /lego/
1 : Do not promote raids or doxxing
  1a : Doxxing brand objects and homebrew objects is allowed, not persons
2 : Do not spam
   2a : Dumping of relevant images, and relevant attachments is allowed, in their on-topic threads
   2b : Same type of thread repeated without reaching a bump limit will be considered spamming, regardless of the interval, posts may get merged to the primary thread
3 : Do not sign your posts with a name, avatar, signature, or any variations thereof
   3a : Using a cap-code without good reason means lost of volunteer position, and possible ban
4 : Do not submit low quality or off-topic posts
  4a : Continued derailment will be treated as off-topic, posts may get moved to a new thread
5 : Do not post anything NSFW unspoilered

Remember that no matter the rules of the board, all global rules apply
inflammatory will fall under off-topic most of the time continued high quality inflammatory posts will lead to low quality or going off-topic this is just redundant
i think 2b 3a and 4a are redundant and implied but bo can keep it as a reminder if he thinks thats necessary
