My initial impression is that of a more cheery, less careworn, and more functional version of the present. People are generally wearing the same things, the stores are stylized, and the hustle-bustle is familiar. I can't help but wonder if there was a concerted effort to freeze parts of that...and so we are faced with the rot of the present from having kept the wrong parts of it unchanging too long.
