https://anilist.co/search/anime?season=SPRING
60+ shows this season. They can't keep this up right? Either way, a ton of adaptions and sequels this season. Not many isekai from what I can tell. I think we're moving away from isekai and into the underdog/punished hero trend. This season is jam-packed with action but sadly little ecchi. Some shows that have caught my interest this season that aren't remakes or sequels.

>Kaijuu 8-gou (Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi)
https://anilist.co/anime/153288/Kaijuu-8gou/
<With the highest kaiju-emergence rates in the world, Japan is no stranger to attack by deadly monsters. Enter the Japan Defense Force, a military organization tasked with the neutralization of kaiju. Kafka Hibino, a kaiju-corpse cleanup man, has always dreamed of joining the force. But when he gets another shot at achieving his childhood dream, he undergoes an unexpected transformation. How can he fight kaiju now that he’s become one himself?!
Studios: Production I.G
Men beating the shit out of monsters using guns and fist with some quality animation behind it. I won't need much else as long as the characters can hold up.

>Sentai Daishikkaku (Action, Fantasy)
https://anilist.co/anime/158417/Sentai-Daishikkaku/
<When the Monster Army invaded Earth thirteen years ago, the Divine Dragon Rangers rose up to stop them! With the war raging on, these great heroes are mankind’s last hope! ...or are they? In truth, the invaders were subjugated within a year, forced to continue to crank out a monster a week for the Rangers to crush in front of their adoring fans! But one monster has had enough. Something has to change! He’ll rebel against the might of the Dragon Rangers and destroy them all...from the inside!
Studios: Yostar Pictures
A story of a mob grunt defeating the corrupt super sentai? I'm interested.

>Re:Monster (Action, Adventure, Fantasy)
https://anilist.co/anime/169417/ReMonster/
<After meeting an untimely death, Tomokui Kanata is reincarnated as a lowly goblin, but he’s worked up a monstrous appetite. Thanks to his new ability that allows him to grow stronger the more he feeds, his feeble status quickly changes, and he rises to become the goblin leader. With a mix of his past memories, new body, and strong stomach, he’s taking a bite out of this new fantastical world!
Studio: Studio DEEN
Lots of action manga adaptions as of late. Considering Studio DEEN is handling this, I'm expecting a quality adaption.

>Yozakura-san Chi no Daisakusen (Action, Comedy, Romance)
https://anilist.co/anime/158898/Yozakurasan-Chi-no-Daisakusen/
<Taiyou Asano is a super shy high school student and the only person he can talk to is his childhood friend, Mutsumi Yozakura. It turns out that Mutsumi is the daughter of the ultimate spy family! Even worse, Mutsumi is being harassed by her overprotective, nightmare of a brother, Kyouichirou. What drastic steps will Taiyou have to take to save Mutsumi?! A spy family comedy - the mission begins!
Studios: SILVER LINK.
Looks like a silly show. Hopefully the comedy is good.

>Shuumatsu Train Doko e Iku?
https://anilist.co/anime/155657/Shuumatsu-Train-Doko-e-Iku/
<The anime's story is set in a town in a not-so-ordinary countryside, where a big and strange occurrence is happening to its residents. But a young girl named Shizuru Chikura has a strong desire to see her lost friend again. Shizuru and three other girls board an abandoned train, and they set out to the outside world, where survival is not certain. What awaits them at the last stop of the "Doomsday Train?"
https://anilist.co/anime/155657/Shuumatsu-Train-Doko-e-Iku/
Studios: EMT Squared
No genres listed? Are these cute girls going to suffer?

Konosuba's Crimson Demon village prequel adaptation was boring as hell, I read everything up to volue 11 of the LN and the Crimson Demon volume (volume 5) wasn't worse than other volumes.

>Average Guy in a fantasy land was just living his life, but now, he has a free waifu!
Jesus Christ I think I can already count three of these this season. Serious question: why won't they just make porn already? Does anyone in Japan seriously believe that horny boys in 2024 have any trouble finding the most extreme hentai on the web within a few clicks? Why bother with these boring incredibly low effort plots that are obviously pandering to coomers if you're not going to feature and sex?
>>103794
There's a large audience of masochistic soydemons that enjoy CBT. Men with healthy T levels don't watch any kind of romance or ecchi anime, we watch hardcore fucking when horny and CGDCT when not horny. Likewise, a functional society requires women to not dress like whores in public which allows men to think about something other than sex all day. A woman's curves should only be revealed in the bedroom when it's time for fucking.

This is /animu/, not /macfarlanu/, and if you really were high-T you'd be confident enough to let it show for itself. Telling people you're high-T is like telling them your pronouns are he/him: you reveal your unmasculinity through your assumption that they might not think you identify as a man.

Also you make zero sense. You say that a woman's curves should only be revealed in the bedroom for a functioning society and that women shouldn't dress like whores and you want a functional society but then you say you watch hardcore pornography.
Not to mention most romance anime has little to do with actual sex generally unless you're watching some really trashy stuff.
If people want pure sex, they will watch it, your whining has nothing to do with it by trying to separate the boxes arbitrarily when its all fictional fucking works to begin with.
If someone wants to make a regular anime with hot girls in skimpy outfits, that's fine, fuck off.

This retarded mentality of having attractive women = sex/porn is for some reason very present in the west. You can't enjoy natural beauty or are even allowed to desire women. If you do, you must be a porn ridden addict instead of just a normal male with a working libido. Which is more odd that this is more applied to anime which tries to make interactions with women more cute and wholesome and they actively try to avoid making women look like whores. As opposed to plenty of western entertainment where a girl and guy immediately fuck after meeting and that's a punchline. The fact that this is applied to only men's genres and not both sexes (just look at all the otome and female romance material and it's basically the same thing) makes me think it's a product of men being shamed for liking attractive women for over decades.

Stop being a fag and learn to enjoy seeing cute girls on the screen without constantly thinking of porn.

>>103803
It fits perfectly with what we see in western media of girls having all feminine features removed. They got exactly what they wished for. Can't think of interacting with women as porn or them being too sexual when they now have their curves removed, bodies covered up, and act just like men. Now that the horrible male gaze is removed, entertainment is now better right?

It's the fad thanks to anime that got popular such as SOA, Overlord, Konosuba and Goblin Slayer - just to name a few. In typical nip fashion, every manga released now has to be an isekai, specifically to some faux-fantasy world with video game logic. They can't isekai into some futuristic world or some alien world or something harsh. I personally can't wait for that fad to end almost as much as I can't wait for the fad of SoL anime taking place in two-story high schools to end. In a similar vein to what >>103776 said, it's OK to hate things just as much as it's OK to like things. Most people can read the writing on the wall regarding how anime tends to work, where it starts off with a premise which sounds interesting but the mangaka has no freakin' clue how to progress from there, or it really doesn't have legs to go anywhere at all. Almost every popular anime from the past several seasons falls into this, such as Spy x Family, Bocchi the Rock, Frieren, just to name VERY few. That's not to say there aren't a few which try something new, because they certainly exist, but it's important to note they are the exception. The funny part is that a lot of these flavor of the season anime will become forgotten in just a year or two. Don't let the hype a lot of these shows get fool you into thinking they're deep or trying something fresh or new and will totally last long, because usually that's not the case.
There's a plethora of older anime from 10+ years ago worth watching, and you'll probably not have enough time to even get through them all, that's how numerous they are. Despite what the addicts ITT may argue, new anime like Frieren isn't actually worth watching beyond what people will say about the animation, which is wasted on DBZ-esque power level mish-mash flashing light garbage. Even still, animation from mahou shoujo from the 90's surpasses it. A lot of anime fans suffer from FOMO and then move on to the next flavor of the season pretending like it's the best thing since sliced bread. Still hear anybody talking about Komi? Or Darling in the Franxx? Eizoken easy breezy? I could go on and on, man!

tl;dr It's ok to hate most anime, there's tons of good anime that came out years ago. Don't fall for the FOMO hype. If something new is good, you'll still be hearing about it years later when you finally get to it on your backlog. If not, you can safely take it off.

>>103794
Anime is wish-fulfillment which encourages self-inserting into the MC. News at eleven.
My problem isn't with the fan service, although it could be if that's all an anime has to work with. My problem is with the writing mainly. Luckily, most of the anime you describe are dogshit and forgettable, so you won't be hearing about them after they've finished airing.
Fan service done right is good. Examples being Prisma Illya. But fan service can be done wrong as well, where the badly-written plot is basically just a vehicle for the fanservice - the quality of which still pales in comparison to actual porn.

>>103812
I think the point went over that anon's head, or he is wishing to strawman the whole argument to justify him wasting precious man hours on anime that will be forgotten in mere months.

Replies: >>103820
>>103819
>Nobody's got a story to tell, just an idea to extrapolate ad infinitum
Well, that's the consequence of manga culture. People don't learn how to draw because they want to tell a story, they draw because they're otakus, and maybe later down the road they find a popular premise to draw. Look at stuff like Miru Tights, the guy just drew tights on twitter with some added dialogue and it became popular enough to be adapted into an anime. Same goes for Senpai ga Uzai's mangaka. Unfortunately being a good artist doesn't equate to being a good storyteller which is why we have shit like Komi.

Any man with a normal libido (not western or asian soy creatures with less than half the testosterone of their ancestors from 100 years ago) can not watch any ecchi/fanservice without getting a throbbing, uncomfortable boner. If I'm in the mood to jerk off I'll watch something like Shoujo Ramune when alone in a dark room, I don't want to jerk off to 10 seconds of a girl having a wardrobe malfunction inserted into an otherwise non-ero anime for no reason. When I'm looking for anime to watch I have to use anidb to filter out over a dozen tags like ecchi and nudity to keep weird perverted filth off of my living room TV. Hopefully soon AI will be able to scan episodes of anime and cut out the "fanservice" scenes (and sex/erotic scenes in hollywood kike media) to make them watchable by functional human beings.

Some manga are a collaboration of two people, one drawing and one providing a scenario to draw instead of it being an one man show. You don't have to excel at everything if you find someone to cooperate with that compensates for the aspects you are bad with. Manga culture isn't an excuse and otaku come in all flavors, not only the one related to drawing.

Definitely one of the more ridiculous things I've ever heard someone bitch about a socialist government doing. Hey, maybe if you have a problem with it you should tell the US to stop trying to sabotage their economies with repressive economic sanctions, so they're not so desperate that they have to take resources away from prison funding in order to provide things for their law-abiding citizens? Or maybe it's worth remembering that old observation of Aristotle: Desperation breeds crime.

If you have a problem with hamburgerland and other countries acting like cunts to representatives of your meme ideology, why justify a retarded practice that makes their relations even worse? Playing the blame game here wins nothing for anyone, especially not the average joes who suffer from a foreign nation dumping criminals on their doorstep.

Sure thing, anon. Venezuela's troubles are all due to mismanagement and incompetence... No role at all for a global superpower attempting to cut a country off from international trade and even outright theft of assets. Even right-wing Venezuelan economists disagree with your received wisdom from the state department.

Ever notice how socialist economies can never be left to fail on their own, if they're so intrinsically bad? Pic related by the way, what it's like to be an Amerifat.

Part of venezuela's problems also comes from the amerisharts cucking them out, that is true. However, their troubles do come from the inside too. Maduro is no saint, let alone Chaves, their government was and still is a cesspool of corruption as you'd expect from a south american country. Ask any venezuelan with half a brain and he would tell you this.
Shifting the blame in this case is quite retarded but I suppose thats normal coming from a retarded commie.

Girls Band Cry
Country girl moves to Tokyo to make it as a musician. I usually drop any CG anime shows but I gave this an honest shot and it wasn't bad. The animation was the best CG animation I've seen for TV anime, the first episode was more slow paced than Yoru no Kurage wa Oyogenai but still fun. It had the usual stuff
>MC finds her favorite indie musician doing a street performance
>indie musician is about to quit music
>MC convinces indie musician to start a band with her
I'll give it another episode but Yoru no Kurage wa Oyogenai just seems like a better version of this.
>Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai
Historical drama about two brothers, the crown prince and his exiled older brother. There's some magical elements involved (the royal family are actually crow-human hybrids). First episode focused on the royal palace and the four women competing to become the crown prince's wife, with some war shown outside of the capital. Seems like the anime will have two parallel stories, one about what happens outside of the capital with the older brother, and the another about power struggles between the concubines. Seems ok.

>Mushoku Tensei P2

Sequels aside, there are some shows I wasn't expecting to enjoy. Lv2 Kara Cheat is your usual dumb power fantasy slop that's made just well enough to be fun to watch. Same with Tensei Shitara Dai Nana Oujo Dattanode which is also power fantasy slop but with great animation, /ss/ and a "shota" that's basically drawn a curvy loli. Date A Live is okay so far but I'm interested in what they do with the plot. Sadly DAL suffers from too many characters that must hover around MC and don't have much agency without him so they're all just fighting for screen time that the show can't afford to give to all the girls. The Bartender remake is interesting and it does feel like a straight remake instead of a new story. Thankfully, it's still comfy.

There are a bunch of shows I still need to catch up on but so far, it's a decent season. Here's hoping it doesn't go down the drain as the season goes on.

If you wan't a virgin slave, either pay out of your nose or settle for some discounted goods that nobody would touch sexually, like a useless cripple, diseased with something dangerous, or fugly beyond description (or too underage for your average pervert). The problem is, they have short shelf life and literal life usually. Slavers usually dispose of that bottom tier merchandise quickly. The typical isekai plot gives the MC the means to get rid of that disqualifying condition with merely a hand wave and in result earn him the undying devotion of the slave in question. At least nine out of ten times you read this type of story.

Let's see what's there next season... Oshi no Ko S2 (very conflicted on whether to watch S1 and consider watching S2, but I have a feeling that most likely Oshi no Ko ends up being very cringe), Atri (adaptation of VN that I am reading; interested), something literally about obesity (WTF??), Giji Harem (no idea what it is but it is based on a web manga; may or may not be interested), Gimai Seikatsu (may or may not be interested but it is based on a LN (low quality slop medium)), Isekai Suicide Squad (literally some pozzed westoid capeshit, WTF!!??), Koi wa Futago de Warikirenai (may be interested but it is based on a LN), Mayonaka Punch (even less of an idea of what it is, but it looks like it could potentially be something interesting), Nanare Hananare (original anime, but no idea what is is about, other than having a macaco (=brazilian) girl and wheelchair moe; may be interested but it may possibly end up being some sort of propaganda), Shoushimin Series (based on a (non-Light?) mystery novel series; may or may not be interested), Tasogare Outfocus (obligatory fujoslop gayshit), Tokidoki Bosotto Russia-go de Dereru Tonari no Alya-san (has Russian girl in 2024, but is based on a LN; may be interested), VTuber Nanda ga Haishin Kiriwasuretara Densetsu ni Natteta (LMAO, vtumor anime... and the description reads like "just be urself bro" shit... is this going to be like Yoru no Kurage 2???), Boku no Tsuma wa Kanjou ga Nai (bot romance; may or may not be interested), Ramen Aka Neko (may or may not be interested), 2.5 Jigen no Ririsa (sounds interesting but potentially cringe), Megami no Cafe Terrace (2024) (sequel to maid harem anime, probably not interested because the "girls" are all adult), Senpai wa Otokonoko (YEAH NO, it's gayshit and reading the Wikipedia page for the manga makes it looks like it's some borderline woke shit instead of innocent fujoslop to add insult to the injury), The Idolmaster Shiny Colors 2nd Season (would be interested if I had actually watched Idolmaster's other installments), Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan (looks interesting), Katsute Mahou Shoujo to Aku wa Tekitai Shite Ita. (it's based on a yonkoma, not idea what it is about; may or may not be interested).
More shows may or may not be announced, but so far I have found 5~10 that I am likely to watch.
Bizarrely enough, Senpai wa Otokonoko seems to have a "character" (homo) called "Taiga Ryuuji"...... but if only the author took actual inspiration from Toradora to make a solid romance story (rather than some whacky LGBT propaganda) instead of just stealing names to make le funny reference.

I'm not sure why people are so surprised at all the globohomo shit in anime recently. The west has been getting its ass handed to it by Japanese cultural exports for almost 20 years now. It was only a matter of time before they did to anime what they did to games and just ruin it at the source instead of trying to compete with it. Just the other day the head of Disney+ Japan said in not so many words that they're going to start a push to make anime bend the knee. The article read like the anime version of all those "Japanese games are falling behind" articles that MS funded in the early 2000s. This is why this season has that tranny propaganda show about a gay couple raising a child in a world where some people can change sex at will, and of course the MC is one of those people. Usually shows like that would get canceled within 4 or so episodes because of low ratings, but I guess ESG money is being poured into anime studios now. Japan is going to have to have something similar to comicsgate in the near future if they want to have any freedom of expression in the future.
will there ever be another good loli anime like Wataten or U149?

at one point we'll have ai generated anime and people and small groups will simply create their own stuff. so many creative fields that were out of reach because they required a huge monetary investment are now accessible, like photography, music production, video production, 3d printing etc. given how quickly these ai tools evolve we're probably less than 5 years away from that point. i think the future will be glorious

I mean, why the fuck aren't you sad already? I've been clearly telling you that you should be demoralized by now. Why are you all still here, why is any of us still here, why haven't I killed myself already??
It's not like half a season's shows are cancelled or announced the same week they are supposed to start airing on, you should be SAD already now more than 2 months in advance. Anime is DEAD already, you don't have to be their audience, there's obviously never going to be anything good ever again. It's been more than a week already without any new good shows coming out. How can you still be here?? You should be sad...

Should've posted my "mid-season" reviews earlier, but here are the anime I'm watching, sorted from favorite to just OK.
One Room, Hiatari Futsuu, Tenshi-tsuki -- MASTERPIECE. Though it filters westoids obsessed with contrived novelties who cannot appreciate objective moe because it's not "original" enough.
Sasayaku You ni Koi wo Utau -- Yuri. I guess the two main girls are cute.
Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote -- It's supposed to be "relevant" and have soycial commentary about the entertainment industry or something, but that doesn't ruin it too much, fortunately. I like the MC.
Himitsu no Aipri -- Never really watched kid-aimed stuff before. The girls are cute and there's some pseudo-yuri subtext, I guess. Maybe one could say it's like mahou shoujo but with battle filler replaced by idol stuff.
Hibike Euphonium 3 -- Pretty good series.
Shuumatsu Train Doko he Iku -- Pretty crazy stuff. Though I can imagine jewtubers making pretentious videos about its "symbolism" or something. I like Akira.
Date a Live 5 -- Date a Live is good stuff. Though this season is not as harem-y and it's more action-y and "serious" so to speak.
Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai -- Never watched shoujo before. I kind of like it, but I don't think that I'd be too interested in watching other shoujo stuff. Also I find it funny how westoids complain about it promoting "toxic relationships" or something (which is the reason why I started watching it anyway).
Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru -- Kind of funny, I guess.
Yuru Camp 3 -- This series in general tries to be slow and "comfy", but to be honest that ends up making it a bit boring for me. But it's not bad. I also don't particularly mind the art change on this new season.
Henjin no Salad Bowl -- Focuses too much on adult characters which is a bit boring.
Reddit Tensei 4 -- This is probably the last season I'm watching. Not all that interested in this series.
Here are opinions about things I'm not watching:
Wolf remake -- Never watched the original, dropped this after 1 episode after hearing online that it's NTR. Not that I particularly had a lot of interest in the concept and setting anyway.
Jellyfish anime -- Feminist bullshit. Also has soycial media and TikTok as important plot points, and a character obsessed with WESTOID CAPESHIT (WTF, WHY??).
Redditsuba 3 -- I was curious about this and had never watched the other two seasons, so I tried to binge them, but I barely got through the first one. I didn't find it funny at all and the girls don't appeal to me. I couldn't finish watching the first episode of the second season. Also half of the screenshots I saw of this new season are just the MC making retarded faces which is not funny or appealing to me at all because I'm neither a tiktoddler nor gay.>>104912
>>104912
I could've watched it but... I don't have interest in 3DCG. Though between this and the jellyfish anime, I'd rather take this. And if I had to theoretically choose between 3DCG slop and AI slop, I'd probably take 3DCG.

Fun but nothing too outstanding, maybe would've been better in a 12-minute format.
>Yuru Camp△ Season 3
I think they've gotten too comfy to the point that it's boring. I've also never liked Chiaki and the last episode was a bore because of her.
>Bartender: Kami no Glass
Usually have a soft spot for adult cast seinen anime but the MC seems too good and fixes virtually every problem that arise. It's almost like he's a shounen protag in a seinen anime.

Tomboy seems to sway too hard onto the "boy" side, the tanned girl doesn't look very attractive either.

tonbo doesn't show that much tomboyish behaviour and non of the typical tropes. she's just really energetic

Right, so the protagonist is a cannibal rapist. Is the author a secret serial killer trying to justify himself through fiction? This particular power fantasy seems to be appealing to very narrow tastes.
