I wish that they'd come up with something new for once, even 2000-2010 harem animes were less predictable that this slop.

Based on the character design I thought that the Sanda mangaka was the same mangaka that did Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer. Turns out it's the girl that made Beastars and suddenly I'm reminded of the cat-to-cute-girl drawing sample. The mangaka has spent years drawing animals and is finally applying her skills to draw cute girls.

Also, it's just a really interesting anime imo. Fuyumura, Sanda, Principal are all very interesting characters. The bit with god, praying and giving children hope was really nice, a breath of fresh air, unlike all the other animu/movies/everything where religion is the big bad.

That's apparently not even what "camping" means in Japan.  It seems to mean "hang out on the edge of civilization with all its comfortable amenities and pretend you're camping".  Japan must be such an overcrowded urban nightmare with nothing left of the natural world that these pampered consumer whores even think buying firewood is acceptable camping behavior.

Yup, that's an ad all right.  Kind of disgusted with myself that I sat through the whole thing.

Main character was a completely superficial black hole with almost zero character development.  The audience is led to believe he's some kind of deep thinker who likes to be alone to contemplate all the heavy stuff in his life.  But what actually seems a lot more likely is that he has some kind of crippling learning disability and avoids being around others because he doesn't want to embarrass himself.  At no point are we given a good reason to believe that Shizuku would actually fall for this simpleton.

In the end the show can be summed up as a jailbait fantasy to convince middle-aged men to go out and buy a ton of camping equipment.  The manipulation was very transparent to me.
