I've decided to make a thread to exclusively concentrate on the discovery, discussion and chapter dumping of the fresh, new waves of JUMP mangakas and their works (Jump Plus and others included). That's it.
Let's start with an interesting, new serialization: The Hunters Guild: Red Hood (by Yuki Kawaguchi)
>The winner of the 14th Gold Future Cup rookie manga competition now launches as a full series! Unique art captures the unfolding battle between hunters and werewolves. Who will win this battle to the death, man or beast? This grim fantasy tale with tons of style begins the hunt in Shonen Jump!

(If you want a .zip for a specific chapter/s, just ask)

You're welcome.
I thought this series was pretty generic and even the musclegirls weren't all that well done, but with this latest reveal I might get a little invested. Hopefully it was planned and the author didn't just pull this one out of his ass.

Returning to this thread to bring up the latest chapter of Red Riding Hood. It looks like it's been dropping in popularity or something because the author just did a huge plot reveal and whatatweest. Looks like the musclegirl fetish can't carry a manga, sadly.

Yes. I could think of a few others, perhaps, but there would be other factors of their success other than the fetish. This one has very little else going for it.

I think its because of " yet another entrance exam arc". Whatever happens, you can expect it. Sudden reveal of evil/good protagonist relative. Sudden change of setting after protagonist gets beaten and need to heal. Big antagonist team reveal. A fucking tournament arc. If its better than average it will go on FOREVER. If its received worse than average it will suddenly end.
Its like a cliche bingo with shounen. Even if you like it, you still understand its shounen, and therefore shit. Authors hate it, fans hate it, bystanders hate it.

Shueisha is ruthless, they axed Samurai 8 with no mercy even if it was Kishimoto's new child. Now, it may be interesting how both shared the same editor, Hikaru Taguchi, or SHINIGAMI TAGUCHI for some, people humor it up by saying this guy just murders series, it may not be that far-fetched since manga editors are basically co-writers.
Now, for the bad news this "shinigami" is also the current MHA editor
Pic meme-related because Kubo somehow has Shueisha by the balls (I think one of the heads is a huge fan of his).

Not sure what's worse: something being clearly axed, or a manga just ceasing its releases mid-plot and its publisher apparently having fuck all to say about if the series will ever be continued, as if eternal hiatus makes them look better. I miss The Arms Peddler.

Heard rumor a suitcase containing the next (or rest of the current?) volume was lost at an airport or something. I know it would probably be a pain to redraw from scratch if so, and that perhaps a break might have been needed to mentally prepare for doing so, but I'd have hoped Nanatsuki, Night Owl, or even Square-Enix would have at least said something about it by now.

>mfw the manga was everything I liked mashed up togheter
Same. Weird west as a genre seems to have a curse on it, at least as far as anime and manga go, of being cut short or rushed.

And then there's Yusuke Murata shitting out 150+ pages in a single month and redrawing entire 50+ pages chapters for shit and giggles or just because there's not enough waifu material, for 2 years straight now.
Some mangakas were built different, others can't take the minimal pressure of a single roadblock.

The sexiest girl in shoonen jump is the chubby one from Ayakashi Triangle. Like every other chapter is legitimately fap-worthy if you're into juicy girls.

Despite the somewhat generic story I really enjoyed the art style in Hunter's Guild and was the concept seemed weird enough I was curious where it would go. Disappointed it got cancelled. Same with Candy Flurry, I really liked how specific the power system was.

Magu-chan is also quite enjoyable for me. Witch Watch is ok, I find it cute.

I think i know why they cancelled it, i mean the fucking exam arc is pretty bull and meh since everything goes on lightning spped and you can barely comprehend what’s going on the story. Especially since the fucking exam is a game of cops and robbers, i mean that’s really lame. And when you compared this to the first few chapters where you hunt actual werewolves, it’s no wonder people don’t like where this is going. Not to mention that it’s an exam arc where you barely know who the contestants where, so i think the majority of people don’t give a shit about it.
Still, it’s still axed way too fucking early.

I mean, I get this reasoning but at the same time you don't just draw the pure essence of a musclegirlfag's fetish and expect her not to win considering how she's probably a big(two big, if you catch my drift) reason why anyone's reading.
To be fair I did get caught off guard with who won the first battle since I expected Honda to be a protagonist, and I was kind of disappointed William Adams was matched against who at the time I thought was the second guy on the cover and the antagonist/secondary protagonist so maybe this approach does work.
Also not much good shots of Fuma this chapter.

>since she already used 'That
I think everyone in the first round will end up using their super ultra secret killing technique, and be left half death. Musashi already has a hole in his chest that he is refusing to treat. I know "realistic" is not a term to use in the context in the manga, yet I can't help but feel that he should die either from blood loss or from an infection, before the first round is even finished. Kotaro will also die, because of blood loss, since she can't heal her wounds, and she already drank super poison, if anything there will never be a second round, and the winner of the tournament, will be the one who wins the last fight of the first round, since all the other "winners" have died already. Even more realistically the manga will get cancelled, before we get a second round.
>>66331
I think yeah I'll check out after the first round. Both winners of their rounds have already pulled out all the big showstoppers so there's really not much to pull beyond massive asspulls or mid match powerups which just won't be fun to read.
This is why battle tournaments should be teams vs teams, not elimination.

In Shogun it was mostly trying to stay alive, since at any moment someone could decide that it was better to just kill him, and in that book the Samurai were insane
>peasant does a dumb thing
>gets his head cut off by a samurai
>samurai does a dumb thing
>impales his heart with a knife
>samurai needs to deliver a message
>jumps off a cliff to his death to deliver it faster(yes this actually happened in teh book)
Though, his second motivation was cucking a samurai with his wife, because he had the GWC, and because the samurai was a wife-beater.
At the same time, he constantly scared the samurais, because he could do a front-flip, dive in water, drink sake without getting drunk, and one of my favorite scenes in the book, is when they were trying to offer him some pleasure, they offered him to sleep with a woman, now at that time he was still faithful to his wife in Europe, so he became angry at the idea of cheating, the samurai got scared so they offered him a man instead, then Anjin got even more furious, because they just implied he was a sodomite, then the samurai got worried and offered him a child, Anjin was now red-faced, foaming at the mouth and jumping with anger, the samurai now didn't know what the Gaijin wanted to sleep with, and thought that maybe he wanted a dog like the people in Korea.

Traditional kappa and kitsune yokai aren't monstergirls, they're just monsters. Modern yokai tend to have human faces (and breasts) so they're monstergirls now. In the case of kitsune and bakeneko they had varying forms depending on power level, and could shape shift at will. For example a kitsune that appears as a fox with only one tail would be the weak, but more powerful forms would have more tails and increasingly human shape. Two tail kitsunes are more powerful than one tailed ones, but less powerful than three tailed ones for example. A kitsune that has a human form with no fox like features would also be more powerful than the ones that are only partially human. They are still fox demons, but they become more human as they increase in power. They can still transform back into a fox if they want to, but they can shapeshift into almost anything.

Oni are a major example, even famous oni like Shuten-Doji and Ibaraki-Doji are now cute monstergirls because of one-time shapeshifting antics (and FGO being desperate). But historically yokai have been presented as monsters first and foremost. Almost all "monstergirls" we get these days are a modern invention along with boatgirls, planegirls, castlegirls, and everythingelsegirls. The few historical exceptions (vampires, mermaids, harpies) stand out because they're exceptions.

I don't think just getting in shape will improve birthrate, since Japan has so many factors behind it that makes having a child actively detrimental to your lifestyle. Even if there is a sudden uptick in births, it would still take a few generation's worth of continuous surplus to replace the aging population. This is actually a trend that has already taken place in other East Asian economies. Even the Chinese are feeling the brunt of their One-Child policy as well as Korea with their Ultra-Feminist cabal. While Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore just plateaus because there's not much growth to be in a tiny island.
Japan is unironically heading towards a world envisioned in a Deus Ex: Recut joke. Old men, running the world. This is probably a first time in a country where there will be more old people than young uns.
A NEW AGE!
>>73403
Old men, are the future.
>>73403
Not to mention how Japan's aggressive and competitive education system causes a lot of kids to commit suicide just for failing a test or at the very least their parents' expectations. Adults who went through that torment don't want to bring kids into this world if that's what they have to look forward to. Plus who can forget the long working hours virtually make it impossible for kids to be looked after once they are born. Unless one parent quits work or puts the kid in daycare - both of which are not feasible financial options for most nips who already struggle to pay for their studio apartment.

Japan is plagued with the same shit as the West :
 - gynocentric divorce laws
 - promiscuous women and cheating wives
 - growing feminism

Also other factors, such as :
 - everything is fucking expensive
 - the wife typically controls the household budget, even though the husband works for it

Marriage is high risk with zero rewards. There's literally no incentive for men to get married.
Replies: >>73446

I don't know how promiscuous Japanese women are, considering the study of "What you consider cheating on your partner" had lots of stuff where Japanese women considered holding another guy's hand or using the same drinking straw to be cheating (God bless them), which skewed the results.
I think a major problem is the Japan got hit with the "career woman" meme harder than the west, because Japan liked the idea of an expanded labor pool, so now lots of women who would be starting families, are instead turned into just another corporate cog.
There are a lot of rumors about undersexed housewives and infidelity, up to and including infrequent allegations of incest and spousification of their sons (And these range from "Do good on this test and Mommy will suck you off" to full on penis in vagina sex) But again, allegedly I'm going off vague recollections of listening to an actual Japanese man talk about these things.

'Masculine' in what sense? As in crossdressing as a male, sure. But working to provide for the family? Nope. Women have worked jobs, laborious as they are all throughout history. The difference between now and then is that women did that all while having a family.

Masculine as in not feminine, duh. If you need examples :

They worked female jobs, retard, not male jobs. That's still how it is right now. Women avoid the STEM fields like a plague.

>The difference between now and then is that women did that all while having a family.
Nope. The difference is that positions of authority are now available to women.
And in order to keep people in line, a woman has to adopt masculine traits. No one's going to take a demure, feminine boss seriously.

Traditions are solutions to problems we have long forgotten.
A lot of religions and traditions disallow women from having positions of power, due to 2 reasons.
 1. They're not built for it.
 2. The stages of moral development. The vast majority of women stop developing at stage 3. The concept of justice is completely alien to them.

What the fuck, is being a bitch masculine now? If anything that's fucking feminine because bitching and moaning at the slightest obstacle is a sign that you're a weakling effeminate coward. How is that masculine? Oh and confrontational part is a loaded answer since, like everything it's not good to be at either extreme. Too confrontational and you act like a nigger, too compromising and you act like a japanese wageslave.
>They worked female jobs, retard, not male jobs. That's still how it is right now. Women avoid the STEM fields like a plague.
True about the STEM bit, but that's because Western Civilization cozy up to them and it's not like there's zero women in that field, there's some but they're still dwarfed by the majority of men. However if they were in Iran, they'll take the STEM field in a heartbeat. Even then female jobs are a wide spectrum but they're laborious all the same. You could argue they're not as laborious as a male job, but i'm arguing from a modern perspective of 'laborious' than a medieval standard of 'laborious'. There's no denying that male jobs are much tiring than women jobs, after all they're weaker.
>Nope. The difference is that positions of authority are now available to women.
Even if it does, people would rather follow a man anyway. Like come the fuck on, people would rather vote for a male president rather than a woman. Women are already wired to a sense to be less confrontational than men do. The problem is that the culture warped this weird perception of being 'successful' as a woman is to be an inferior man.
>Traditions are solutions to problems we have long forgotten.
No shit, traditions are built on the basis of gender norms. The core of the problems lies the system (and culture) that has been built leaned too far in the other direction in the name of 'equality', as thus the traditions that had been the foundation of the system getting eroded in fear of 'inequality'.
>And in order to keep people in line, a woman has to adopt masculine traits. No one's going to take a demure, feminine boss seriously.
So what? They're just individual traits. Plus it's not like people of the past have shied away from adopting traits that are opposite of their gender. There is literally no problem should the individual stray from the norm. It's only a problem when the culture accepts this perversion of the norm as 'normal'.
 >The stages of moral development. The vast majority of women stop developing at stage 3. The concept of justice is completely alien to them.
Wrong. Tell that to Olga of Kiev.

>What the fuck, is being a bitch masculine now?
Loud-mouthed =/= being a whiny bitch, nigger. It's just being loud.

>True about the STEM bit, but that's because Western Civilization cozy up to them and it's not like there's zero women in that field, there's some but they're still dwarfed by the majority of men.
>However if they were in Iran, they'll take the STEM field in a heartbeat.
Special circumstances propelled Iranian women into STEM fields, mainly socio-cultural norms and government policies.
Though, despite the overwhelming number of female graduate in STEM fields, the number of female patents are surprisingly low compared to the men, implying that men are inherently better in these fields.

>The problem is that the culture warped this weird perception of being 'successful' as a woman is to be an inferior man.
It's biology, not culture.
A man is valued for his accomplishments, status, wealth, and physical fitness; by women. And so, men pursue things, and over millions of years made men inherently better at it.
A woman is valued for her beauty, fertility, modesty, and chastity; by men. And so, women have zero incentive to pursue "success" as you define it.

>So what? They're just individual traits. Plus it's not like people of the past have shied away from adopting traits that are opposite of their gender. There is literally no problem should the individual stray from the norm.
The argument begin with "masculine women is a sign of a dying society". Men are not attracted to masculine women, which is one of the contributing factors to the declining marriage rates of the modern day.

>Wrong. Tell that to Olga of Kiev.
Exceptions prove the rule, nigger.

<Being loud is not being whiny
Lol okay dumbass, get some life experience and get back to me. If you want to know what i'm talking about, just look at black women. Hear how they fucking talk for 5 minutes and tell me that's not a whiny bitch. Oh and loud-mouthed is not a 'masculine' trait by the way, fuck off with that noise. I don't want to be nigger.
>implying that men are inherently better in these fields.
Well duh, there's a reason why 90% of geniuses are men. I'm just saying that women can be breadwinners should the situation calls for it or even do the same job as med no, but remember that it's not ideal since women has a shorter shelf life than men do.
>It's biology, not culture.
That's what i said below it.
<No shit, traditions are built on the basis of gender norms (AKA BIOLOGY)
>women have zero incentive to pursue "success" as you define it.
Yep, and that's what the current culture trying to do opposite with. Be a man, but inferior. Make wages like men do, but hit the wall 10 years earlier than men do. I've already seen enough fucking mid-30s women getting desperate for men who will 'settle down' with only to fail and give up entirely, or find a submissive male while having an 'open relationship'.
>The argument begin with "masculine women is a sign of a dying society". Men are not attracted to masculine women, which is one of the contributing factors to the declining marriage rates of the modern day.

So you do have exceptions. I rest my case. It's okay to have tomboys as long as they become Aras for me. But i guess by your rule, tomboys are a no-go right? After all, they're masculine. What's next, women wearing pants are masculine too?

>So you do have exceptions. I rest my case.
The fuck are you on about?. I said that religions and traditions prohibits women from having positions of power because THE VAST MAJORITY OF THEM do not develop morality.
You then go on to highlight THE EXCEPTIONS. Of course there are exceptions to every rule, nigger. Guess you really are a jew.

>It's okay to have tomboys as long as they become Aras for me. But i guess by your rule, tomboys are a no-go right? After all, they're masculine. What's next, women wearing pants are masculine too?
Nice strawman there, fag. I'm talking about real life, not anime. You speak of ideals that do not exist in reality.
Oh wise schol/animu/rs, all I wanted to do was admire some muscular maidens. Can we go back to that?

Isana deserves a ton more screen time, but that's some good stuff there. Too bad it's a manga because it's so hard to find raws, and raw providers tend to disappear without warning in the middle of series, leaving me unable to read more. I'll just have to hope for an anime adaptation when it gets enough material for it.

It's edge but it's edge in the nice way, and honestly it's nice seeing an MC who's so austically consumed in revenge not even being propositioned by a succubus, being into pro wrestling or having a delicious brown musclegirl be his pro-wrestling buddy can sway him from the path.

Just caught up with the OPM manga after three years, and holy shit it's a dumpster fire. It became the very battle shonenshit it was making fun of.
>the dry ironic humor of the webcomic is completely gone
>fights between Monster Association cadres and S-Class heroes that were jokingly short in the webcomic is taken seriously in the manga with full blown multi-chapter battles
>Garou's backstory is taken seriously in the manga, instead of being shat on for being absolutely retarded
>funny scenes like Saitama telling Garou to "keep it down at night" are completely removed
>Garou can fire lasers now, even though his entire schtick was his martial arts

I fully expect one of the female characters you just mentioned to get raped while the MC watches at some point, just because it seems like that sort of manga.

Make the Exorcist Fall in Love
A manga that is heavily based of Christian (mostly Catholic) mythology about an Italian exorcist fresh off the tutelage of Dante from Devil May Cry. Said Exorcist is now chosen by big G Himself to fight Demons who have manifested in the real world, as well as to protect a special girl who is somehow able to sense and attract Demons into Earth. Who is of course, was sent by Lucifer to tempt on God's chosen. Along the way, the Exorcist will have to learn how to love (as cheesy as it sounds) in order to find believe in the world he's trying to protect.
In typical Japanese fashion however, the focus is not so much the religion itself but rather the myth and depictions of the demons such as those based off the Seven Deadly Sins. Along with that, are OT mythological beasts such as Leviathans, Lilims, and possibly even more along the line. And i hope you get a general understanding of them because the author usually won't elaborate on them much bar a few panels introducing them. The art is very gruesome unlike what the artstyle implies, with fights usually ending in bloodbaths for both sides, and fight scenes are mostly composed more like a painting than panels, with them filling up a spread of two pages making them able to fit in extra details into the background. I really like it since every fight have different background themes incorporated into each antagonist.
I also really like that the author is very efficient with it's characterization and storytelling, you barely feel any bloat when reading this. All that can be said for backstory is presented in a few quick pages about it, and that's enough for you to get an understanding on what a character is. For example, such as Lilith being Lucifer's chosen instead of the other Demons. You do get a very in-depth flashback but it's rare.
Overall, i really like it even if some aspects sounds absurd in a western context. But good on the author painting a relatively 'in spirit' Christian mythology this time unlike Evangelion.
