Binging:
>pros: can watch the whole thing in one go better comprehending the story
<cons: tendency to 'get to the point' rises prompting to pay less attention and downright skip the perceived lesser/boring moments
Weekly:
>pros: can enjoy and appreciate each individual episode to its fullest
<cons: start to lose grasp on the entire story, forget things that are months old

I think it depends on the series.

No you moron, all answers must be absolutes, only then we can live in the bliss of certainty and shun all anxiety - the fear of the unknown - from our lives.

Binging is better. Fite me 1v1 see what happens I'm fucking ripped IRL I'll wreck you.

I usually bing 3 different shows at once and rotate between them to not get tired of any of them. Like one comfy CGDCT, one action, and one plot/drama heavy show. This gives me more time to reflect on what's going on in these shows too. However some people might find jumping between so many shows at once too cumbersome.

Try binge-reading vs (bi-)monthly.

I mostly binge on a 3 episode per-day basis. Weekly is reserved for those one-of-a-kind anime that i really liked for the season.

I like binging manga but weekly watching anime.
If something is forgettable it wasn't worth remembering to begin with. I was watching some show and I forgot who the characters were I had seen the episode prior. I realized it was just a bad anime with too many one dimensional characters and only the first episode was funny so I decided to rewatch the first episode. Don't be an idiort. Watch only the best episodes, and on repeat.

That's such a cute fanart. I swear if the manga doesn't end on a time skip after Operation Strix is "over" I'd be pissed.
Assuming it'll ever end or if Endo will somehow stretch it out to 500+ chapters.

Well i wish i could live by doing menial labor such as farming, but we all know automation's the name of the game today. Oh and don't even get me started with trades since those are overran with old farts who refuse to retire.

>I swear if the manga doesn't end on a time skip after Operation Strix is "over" I'd be pissed.
Nah Endo had a string of failed serializations before this, he certainly won't be killing his first and only success when there's still narrative potential beyond Operation Strix.
>Assuming it'll ever end or if Endo will somehow stretch it out to 500+ chapters.
To reach that point, we need two decades worth of work. I mean, getting to 500+ chapters is something only reserved for Weekly Shounen Slaves Authors. Reminder that SpyxFamily is a bi-weekly basis, but not really since it sometimes slip up to a month's time per chapter release.

It's not like I watch them all at once. Like 2 eps of 2 different shows a day. End up finishing 1 or 2 shows in a week or two.

Anime episodes are pretty short and I don't watch every day, so unless I'm following a show that's currently airing I'll watch a couple episodes of whatever show I'm going through over an evening. Maybe if I wanted to see every anime in my lifetime or some fool thing like that it'd be different, but I only have one earthly life and, as much as I like a good story and pretty pictures, there's more to life than consuming as much media as one possibly can.
I did, however, watch one episode of Endless Eight a week for maximum suffering.
Tangentially related to binging, but what would you say is the best order for consuming a product across several variations of media?
That is to say, is it better to watch the anime or read the manga first, or even the light novel if available?
I used to think LN/WN>manga>anime was the correct progression for preserving the creator's vision, but I'm noticing more often than not that this leads to me being unfairly critical of the manga or anime for cutting content rather than enjoying the visual media.
Conversely, if you watch an anime first and like it, and THEN discover it has a manga, and THEN discover a LN/WN to boot, you end up with a surprise bonanza of content to plow through.

It comes down to how the narrative is best told within each medium. Anime is fundamentally about animation (duh) so if the show isn't doing something interesting along those lines you'd be better off reading it. It's a lot easier to appreciate a fight scene when it's animated well, so that's usually where anime pays off. That doesn't mean anime is only good for fighting or fanservice, though- one of the reasons a lot of people like LoGH is because it did a great job feeling like an interesting documentary, as opposed to its novels.

>That is to say, is it better to watch the anime or read the manga first
That is a very complex question that perhaps doesn't have any clear-cut answer. Both schools of thought propose valid arguments with lots of variables. Sometimes a manga has weak art while the anime is top-tier animated, other times it's the other way around - a manga has great art while the anime has cheap animation. Anime has music which can greatly elevate the experience but at the same time anime proposes just one concrete vision of the characters and situations with voices and music; when reading a manga each person creates a unique perception of those things in his head. Anime of course can and likely will get censored and will abridge things; but on the other hand often anime directors are much more experienced than a starting-out mangaka and can better adapt the events.
Obviously nowadays everything will be shat over with CG so there's that also.

Usually you want to start with the source first so then you can observe the alterations from the source in other mediums. Saying that, I think things like 4-koma CGDCT is only really enjoyable when animated. It makes the skits in 4-koma flow better I think. There are also cases where the studio animating creates a completely different experience than the manga like Ghost in the Shell or Appleseed. Same applies to most anime based off mobage where the studio just does whatever with the IP. There are also cases of following the source thoroughly but still providing a unique experience like the Monogatari series.

Watch original anime works that aren't adaptations first if you haven't already, they are among the best in the medium (e.g. Evangelion, Gurren Lagann, Madoka Magicka, Code Geass, KLK, Redline, etc.)
Otherwise it just depends on personal tastes and what you're sacrificing between mediums, if an anime has good music that's a strong sign it's worth watching for example
The other thing about binging vs periodic is the expectations. When you watch a completed series chances are it has a certain clout and you have certain expectations which may or may not live up to reality. When you're watching weekly you're in for a ride and may enjoy it more for what it is rather than based on whether it fulfilled a completed show's expectations.
I remember watching TTGL weekly when it was coming out. Good times. Probably wouldn't be the same as binge.
binge = reddit

>Usually you want to start with the source first so then you can observe the alterations from the source in other mediums
It's the other way around. You start with the best foot forward which is usually the anime and then see if having to bother with the manga is worth it.

In most cases I find the anime worse than the LN. Either they don't animate it well enough to justify it being animated or it butchers content in the manga to fit a 12-13 ep seasonal time slot.
I think I read somewhere that one episode per day was the sweet spot of having time to savor it and not being so slow you forget things.

I see what you're saying but damn that sounds too restrictive if you ask me
A fucking month to watch a 26 episode anime isn't worth it, especially if it's supposedly dnjoyable
It only makes sense for anime you have already watched/enjoyed in the past before too, otherwise you'll take literally 3-4+ days to drop it when you could've done so in the same day

Always consumed my entertainment in packs rather than waiting for the new episode all the time. Well, I also barely watch anime, I'm more into manga and vns. I avoid ongoing things, and when I reach the current end of some manga, I forget that it exist for a few years and return back to it once more is uploaded.

I can't imagine watching something in ongoing, those fuckers add cliffhangers way too often.
