There's also the general fact that only Patreon even works anymore, with Fanbox's importer dead, which makes the countermeasures even worse (since Fanbox has a language barrier between artists and the predominantly English piracy side, making it less obvious that KP exists)
>Time to pay up.
Fuck no. The entire model is ridiculous.
I have 2200 artists I follow on Pixiv. Of those, roughly half are actually active. If I consider even only one in ten to be worth paying for, and a typical plan costs ¥500/month, I'm looking at ¥55k per month. That's three and a half times what I spend on food. It's 40% of what my rent costs. Shit, even my university tuition only worked out to ¥74k per month for the 22/23 academic year, so Fanboxes would be 75% of that.
That's a completely unjustifiable amount of money to spend on porn, especially digital-only rather than at least getting a physical book out of it, and especially since many of the artists have time-limited availability.
