Do you think we'll ever get a proper 2D anime? Or at least Holostars skits? I, for one, am ready for more vtubers on the tele. Thread for TV-like shorts and actual TV productions down the line.

In this episode we get Japanese memes and love for the older gens.

>proper 2d anime
Probably not, at least not for these humorous videos posted on the channel. Producing them using the 3D stuff is easier and probably funnier for the actual videos, if they did do 2D stuff it probably wouldn't look that great in comparison. A larger project might incorporate 2d animation, however, like that hololive alternate or whatever that was.
>Holostars skits
Fucking never ever outside of maybe TV promotions for very specific things. Hololive barely pays enough attention outside of the main JP branch as it is, do you think they're going to waste time on the male group that they intentionally designed to be as far away from the girls as possible?
Speaking of which I'm reminded of some guy saying that the Hololive leddit thought at one point Holostars were a different group entirely and thus not to be discussed. Not sure if that's true but I believe it.

>holostars were a different group
Sort of, they were a different branch, but it was in the same vein as INoNaKa, so it'd be like saying AZKi or Suisei were a different branch, they merged all of them just before 2020 anyway.
When originally debuting Cover put out a quiet 'no contact' policy between the two to keep with the idol branding (yes it goes back that far despite what some claim).
Matsuri and Friend interacted with them anyway and raised that multiple members had already interacted with men (and as said in the tweet may interact at events, although to my knowledge that's only ever happened with EN) so Cover soon rescinded it, it's effects were minimal.
To a degree it still exists, they can't physically meet in the office, they get scheduled for different times/places, but otherwise gone.

Speaking of skits, reminds me of Miko's old shit, which is seemingly present on anime aggregators funnily enough.

Do these count as "episodes" when TLs do these?

I like how they always try to be accurate to the characters and how Towa loses all hope when Nenechi/Mikochi came out.

Oh yeah can't believe I forgot to mention earlier that there is a TV(?) show featuring Vtubers as guest stars.

From what little I've watched it's pretty amusing, and even some oddly obscure vtubers end up on the show.

They should just hire some of these fan animators for something cheap and fun.

That was cute. The level of detail to props for each girl was surprising. Fan-made content can bring out some good stuff.

Pretty sure she just asks some dude who did fan stuff originally.
She talks about messaging the guy and discussing them back when she was confused people didn't like her being slapped.

I can only associate that with all the /pol/-tier edits now, heh, hopefully there's one for her eventually.

I'm not sure where else to post this but Dejiko is a vtuber now. Probably just a cheap attempt at nostalgia but I thought it was cute.

I'd seen that. They've been bringing a couple old anime girls into the vtuber scene and I'm very much enjoying it so long as it stays pure and fun. The sonic vtuber skits up until now have been pretty great too when Sega pulls those assets out.
