What's wrong with your webring? Doesn't seem to crawl, lots of sites are missing.
Actually it appears that everything is there in the board list page, but webring.json does not reflect this. Strange.
Looks like it's broken since the last jschan update, but now it should be working.
It looks like Junkuchan is missing from your webring

Log says it timed out while downloading https://junkuchan.org/webring.json
I'll check tomorrow, maybe it's just something with junkuchan's server...

Okay, this is weird, it works fine from curl, but it timeouts immediately in node (it doesn't wait the requested 20 seconds), it still timeouts if I remove the timeout completely, it looks like it actually chokes on the IPv6 address. But zzzchan also has IPv6 and it's also jschan, and it works, so I dunno what the fuck is happening. I've added junkuchans's IP address manually to /etc/hosts, that seems to fix it, until their server change address.

Hallo from Junkuchan and thank you for manually adding us. I'll take a peek and see if there's anything on our end that's causing issues.

Awkward, I even got the "Something Broke" error.

Yeah, sorry, I'm fucking around with file upload, imagemagic/ffmpeg never works like I want it to work. I found a few bugs while trying to handle the migration shit in the other thread.

And I already got CP spam. Looks like file upload is working again yay.

No worries, didn't help that I posted an 11MB image (oops).

If it's the usual suspects you may be able to block the ASNs associated with their IPs. It's a draconian solution but it works.
Can someone explain to me how the webring actually works?

It's a dynamic list of all boards across several imageboard sites that ranks individual boards by most recent posting and PPH. I think it's a javascript based thing.

How do sites join? How does one site's webring know to show a new site that's just joined?
Replies: >>703

You just install the software on your site and configure it. I'm not a site owner so I'm not familiar with the specifics.

You manually add a few sites to follow. Then every site followed by your sites are going to be indexed, and repeat that recursively until you have no more sites, in a nutshell.

So, for a site to join the webring it needs to be manually added by at least one member? Makes sense.
Is the 'ring borked?

Umm, restarted the service twice, now it seems to work... I hate unreliable shit like this.
