Merry Christmas, Trashmin!
I don't think I've thanked you properly before.
Thank you for letting anon.cafe's legacy live on.

I hope you have a good one.

This.

Merry Christmas, Trashchan!!
Hello Admin. I'm not sure which is the proper thread for such a request, and this one was labled 'Meta', so yeah.

Back during anon.cafe days, if a special stream or other event (iCup, for example) was occurring, a request could be made for the site admin to make a special announcement banner and link to whatever was going on.

As you may know, David Lynch recently passed away. He's very popular among Anons, and one of the webring boards ( /digi/ ) is planning special airings of some of his films during streams. Can we possibly get a site announcement made here, once the details have been set?

Sorry for the late reply, feel free to bump the thread if I miss a message again.
About sitewide announcements, there could be if it's something that concerns multiple boards and not too frequent.

Thanks Admin. Let's see what /digi/ says about schedules then.
@Admin
Just a quick headsup that I've temporarily re-indexed /robowaifu/ here. It seems there are some networking issues with our main board at alogs.space . Cheers.

update:
Primary site back. Re-unlisted here.

@Admin
The recent hack on 4chan brought up some interesting questions regarding it's methodology, and the question whether other IBs were susceptible as well. Thought a headsup was in order here:

Well, jschan doesn't generate thumbnails for pdf files, server doesn't even have ghostscript installed, and thumbnailing is being done in an nsjail jail with no network access and a very restricted filesystem access + seccomp filter. prctl(NO_NEW_PRIVS, 1) permanently disables suid, so even if somehow a suid file ends up in the jail, it does no harm.
I think we're safe from this specific attack.

Sounds good, thanks. Better safe than sorry .
I received an email from the owner of trashchan, com and trashchan.org, that they could give me the domains in exchange for a link to his dead chan (vgchan.org) on trashchan's front page.
On one hand it doesn't seem like a huge price to pay, on the other hand it's not like trashchan wasn't running fine without those domains for the past almost 5 years. I'm wondering if anons have any preference in this matter.
>>1123
I don't have any preferences per se, but as to advice; it's probably reasonable to have multiple domains redirecting back to your server(s). You'll likely know far more than myself at least about the many vagaries (& corruptions) possible with the DNS system of Current Year.

Beyond that, I'd just suggest you consider the possibility of managing your hidden service separately & privately from your primary hosting vendor. At this late point in the day, it's clear the jews have used that pathway as the primary attack vector to
>$$hut it down!
any uppity goyim spouting wrongthink -- such as a typical IB site.

Apart from a private onion service, you might consider hosting providers located in different countries that don't have cooperation treaties designed to coordinate attacks against sites such as this. So, maybe you have a hosting vendor in the so-called 14 Eyes nations, then you have at least one alternative vendor located geographically outside those lands, etc. Common sense things like that.

Hope that helps, Trashmin. Good luck with all this.

No, if they're not part of the webring they can fuck off

Seemed like a legit IB to me. Why couldn't they join the webring?
>>1125
The owner has some interest in joining the webring though.

Can't even view the site without enabling cookies so I can't tell what their deal is.

Doesn't seem to work without javashit either

Your call, Trashmin. I think it puts you personally (therefore, all of us) in a better position from a durability perspective. As to their site and the idea of sponsoring them into the webring (which would also be your call/responsibility): ehh, they strike me as harmless enough. Certainly it's not some kind of kiked-up glownigger gayop sh*te like bl*acked.gov clearly is. Just a smol hobbyist effort that Anon would like to expand, I expect.

Oh well, false alarm it seems. Without going too much into details let's say he changed his mind.
Why?

I'll try to keep an eye over it for him if we wants to add me to his site staff, Admin. (I mean if he goes all the way to join the Webring.) If he asks why I'm willing to, tell him its simply b/c I'm a Whiteknight for the Webring itself.

Got it. Well I wish him good luck with his site. Any good alternatives to ((( TPTB )))'s """offerings""" -- however smol -- should be supported IMHO. Thanks, Admin.

I'm afraid he's in for a rude awakening if he thinks in CY+10 he can just run an IB without any attempts of sabotage.

Yes, its a reprehensible situation. But they tell me "forewarned is forearmed". I hope it'll be enough for him.

On this note, I'd sure like your inputs on our security bread at some point, if you can make the time to. I'm sure your experienced hand could provide some valuable insights to our efforts in this area.
