https://www.gematsu.com/2025/04/hyperdimension-neptunia-rebirth1-for-switch-launches-this-summer-in-asia-with-english-language-support
Compile Heart and IFI are trying Eastasiasoft for Asia-English versions of the canceled Neptunia Re;Birth Switch ports. Personally, I've already bought them on PC (GOG) and now see no reason to double-dip here and support Nintendo's persecution of Japanese expression. The LE goods aren't enticing, either. Even if this allows the ports to succeed, it's only a short-term victory because Compile Heart are still being incentivized against making content that would force them to do workarounds to sell like this, and that's as long as the workaround even works; Nintendo could easily just update their Asia guidelines and start shooting these down, too. They've shown they're capable of it, going out of their way to persecute Japanese cultural expressions for no reason other than that they can, acting as a tool of BlackRock and globohomo writ large to undermine and destroy alternatives to the "modern audience" goyslop future they have in mind. Denying these games for "brand risk" reasons yet platforming shit like Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassin's Creed Shadows which is the single most controversial game in Japan in recent memory for violating several Japanese religious laws and customs and just being a giant middle finger to Japan in general shows where their allegiances lie.

Could you guys help me out? I'm looking for examples of the "most risque" games that have been allowed to be released on Nintendo's systems before they began the censorship crackdown in 2022. Doesn't have to be anything "too" out there, just as long as the game has some cleavage or ecchi content, and it should be good enough.

I believe the "crackdown" (I don't like this terminology, it implies the content shouldn't have been allowed to "slip through" to begin with) didn't really start until later 2023, as both the Mugen Souls games released that year worldwide completely uncensored (except Australia which banned them). You might point to Duel Princess and Hot Tentacle Shoot, but those are outliers. There wasn't a consistent pattern of censoring these games and their content until late 2023 starting with The Fox Awaits Me HANA.
But regardless, without further ado.

Senran Kagura Reflexions
Moero Chronicle Hyper
Moero Crystal H
Seven Pirates H
Mary Skelter 2
The Gal*Gun trilogy
Gun Gun Pixies
Akiba's Trip Undead and Undressed Director's Cut
Mugen Souls/Mugen Souls Z (both uncensored, the only officially uncensored versions available outside of Japan)
Omega Labyrinth Life

For a non-Switch example, the Doki Doki Majo Shinpan games on DS are basically proto-Vitacore. Duo and Doki Majo Plus are two of the very few CERO D-rated games on that system.

I saw your post in the ZZZ Nintendo censorship thread and realized you're already aware of Doki Doki Majo Shinpan. That's probably the standout example of bishoujo ecchi on Nintendo consoles prior to Soyny's spergout driving them to Switch. There are a few other examples, such as the Luminous Arc games on DS, and Stella Glow and Conception 2 on 3DS, but they aren't literally proto-Vitacore like DDMS.

I'm primarily looking for pre-Switch games (Since Switch games seem piss-easy to find) to show a trend because Nintendo primarily "backed off" from dictating the content of third-party games during the GC era and later. So despite what Nintendo have done to their own games during that time (Including titles they published/localized like Fatal Frame 5 and TMSFE), they have been just as "hands off" as Snowy until recently. So far, the list I've managed to compile include (After adding in your games):
>GameCube
<Beach Spikers: Virtua Beach Volleyball
<BloodRayne
<BMX XXX
<Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - Legend

Feel free to double check these. A couple, like RR3D, don't have much ecchi content beyond things like marketing content, but it "should" count as good enough.

I'd add Doki Majo Plus to the DS list. It's a remake of the first game, but it adds some new content, which I assume is pretty lewd because it pushed the rating up to CERO D from the first game's CERO C.
For Wii, you can add Manhunt 2. A game so graphic and violent that it initially received an AO rating and had to be censored to get it to M. Even the censored version still got banned in several countries (Germany, Malaysia, New Zealand and South Korea). As far as I know, the Wii version did not receive any additional censorship. Omega Labyrinth Z also got banned in several countries, but between it and Manhunt 2, only one of those did Sony apparently choose to moralfag over, which tells me they wanted to ban OLZ from the start and just needed a convenient excuse. Same deal with Nintendo.

A couple of things of note!
Be on the look out to see what happens to the upcoming rerelease of Steam-Heart's and Advanced V.G. when they comes out later this month on 5/28. Both rereleases are based the Saturn versions of their respective games. And while they are censored compared to the prior releases, the former game still retained the sex scenes important to the story while the latter has exclusive erotic images not present in the PS1 version. Because of Nintendo's recent antics now also effecting Japanese releases, it's worth keeping an eye on these two games.
Also, I have a question, should we include skinsuits? Like the suits you see in media like Psyvariar and Evangeleon.

Anways, found a few more games to add:
>Nintendo DS
<Breath: Toiki wa Akaneiro
<Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja
<Izuna 2: The Unemployed Ninja Returns
<Luminous Arc 3: Eyes
<Quiz no Tabi
<Simple DS Series Vol. 22: Age Age The Zero-Yon * Shin'ya

To err on the safe side, only skin-covered ones. I feel non skin-colored skinsuits these days fall in the "safe horny" camp, especially when they're used to censor characters/outfits that showed skin previously, similar to leggings (such as 2nd pic related and the usual redditards writing apologia about how it's better than the original design).

I have looked into Manhunt 2 previously, and the Wii version is now the least censored version of all the "official" releases. There was previously the full uncensored AO version of the game that you could buy digitally for PC, but it's no longer available. Outside of that, there's also the PS2 beta version that is both uncensored and retains some exclusive content that is missing from the PC/Wii release (But still present in the official PS2/PSP release).

However I'm hesitant to add a game "just" for it's violence because that mostly gets a pass from these companies. And the last time the industry came together "collectively" to demand censorship of a game because of it's violent content was regarding Hatred, and Thrill Kill prior to that.

There are some games that Nintendo seems to have banned or censored specifically for their violence, such as Christmas Massacre, Gungrave G.O.R.E., and Death end re;Quest Code Z. But I mainly bring up Manhunt 2 as a contrast to how the industry handled its controversy versus how they handle the controversies of games like Omega Labyrinth Z. Manhunt 2 getting banned in sveral countries did not cause anyone to change their policies. So then why did Sony apparently decide to moralfag over Omega Labyrinth Z? If they could shrug off Manhunt 2's controversy, they should have been able to shrug off Omega Labyrinth Z. Just because Bongistan called it CP doesn't mean everyone else thinks that's what it is, even in Bongistan itself, or that it should be banned everywhere, or Australia would be dictating what everyone gets and I'm pretty sure no one agrees with that.

Resident Evil 4 being a timed Gamecube-exclusive is an example. The first two Death end re;Quest games on Switch, while not as violent as Code Z, are also examples. Puppet Combo specializes in graphic, edgy games including one called Nun Massacre with religious themes tossed in for good measure and they had no issues releasing on Switch until Christmas Massacre got blocked all of a sudden. And of course, the Grand Theft Auto games. Which modern Nintendo will only certainly give a pass just because they're AAA games, but it and stuff like Cyberpunk 2077 and Ass Creed Niggers can be used as an example of Nintendo giving blatant passes to high-clout games that lower-clout ones wouldn't get.
