Bicycles were introduced in the 19th century and now number approximately one billion worldwide. They are the principal means of transportation in many parts of the world, especially in densely populated European cities.

Cycling is widely regarded as an effective and efficient mode of transportation optimal for short to moderate distances.

Bicycles provide numerous possible benefits in comparison with motor vehicles, including the sustained physical exercise involved in cycling, easier parking, increased maneuverability, and access to roads, bike paths and rural trails. Cycling also offers a reduced consumption of fossil fuels, less air and noise pollution, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and greatly reduced traffic congestion.

Sometimes I wish we could have more time to travel and replace cars by bicycles. As the weather is nice, I will go back to ride my MTB along the river.
While hiking in the country I discovered some nice places for MTBiking. Also some rocks for bouldering.
Before my asthma got bad, I started wageclucking, and my bike kept having tire problems, I used to like riding my bike in the summer. There's a bike trail near me, and I used to ride over to the next town like a mile or two away. The bike trail is one of the few things I like about where I live.

I live in a little city that's right next to another town that's even smaller.

sounds nice, here biking to the closest grocery store takes 10 minute and another 10 to the next closest grocery store.

I stay away from anywhere where lots of cars are going to be. The nice thing about the bike trail by me is that it goes through the woods, and it only across a few roads that aren't big highways or anything.
First MTB session since the end of winter as the temperature was nice today. Lot of mud on the trails because it rained this morning, berry good.
I'm exhausted but happy.

Anyone ever thought about making their own bike from scratch?

I don't think it's practical to build a wooden bike until you've applied some real craftsmanship and ingenuity if you want to get a good, functional bike. But it could be a fun experiment.
The second one looks bretty cool. It's made with bamboo and I think if you want a woodcycle, bamboo should be the best option.

True. But those men who created that applied some serious style to their work as well. Look at that curve up from the cockpit to the front fender. And the multi-curve for the main hull frame. Nice work tbh.

Sure they've put some serious work into it. If I had to build a bambike I could not go this far.

If you were to allow for stock wheels and gear system the rest of the bike shouldn't be all that bad.

That's really what I imagined when I thought of a bambike. Now I want to try to build one.

Rattan is another good option for a material. Of course bamboo is probably easier to source locally, depending on where any given anon is.
