How you built up your team to handle these things matters. Which team you send to handle which mission matters, because you may end up sending your specialist to do a dull mission and lock them out from doing a more valuable one that you now can't succeed without them. Having spent a good amount of time on this I'd say having foresight for some of the most difficult missions and building my slavers around those really tickle my inner autist.

I've only ever played on "everyone is female but MC" mode so I've not seen any gayness, unless you count femalexfemale as gay, in which case, yeah, there's a lot of that in my playthroughs.
