hi i'm the person who has the old jinteki site up on neocities, i don't really know what happened to the akitaro guy other than that he was looking for hosting before
i want to update the site with newer stuff (like new android info since xposed is dead) and fix some broken pages
if anyone has good content to put on the site, it'd be appreciated!
alternatively if the guy is still around and there's a updated version already please let me know because i can't find your contact since nobody uses tox anymore

You've got a section about phones on your page, which is pretty schway. I was looking for something spyware-watchdogish for different OS for phones, especially with KaiOS in mind. That'd be interesting content imo, but I haven't found anything related to specifically KaiOS yet.
>>79 (OP)
Are you still here? Quite a few of your links are broken, specifically the links to the Mega archives.

Thanks for keeping this up.
Hi. I don't know where else to ask.

It's a long shot, but there was, maybe is, someone who posts cyberpunk and infosec related links on various imageboards. On one of them was a link to a Pastebin in which he said he was willing to help people getting into infosec. I don't think this is the place, but I don't know where I saw the link and I lost all my browser history and sessions shortly after reading it. If this sounds familiar, help a brotha out. Thanks.

Long shot here but could that have been Maderas? He wrote a collection of pastes while active on 4chan.
You could also check out the library thread on this board, there might be links there that will jog your memory.

This looks interesting, but I don't currently have the time, unfortunately. Looks to be a google maps view, to me.

>A mouse scroll wheel that does not deteriorate in function overtime so scrolling will not jump backwards and forwards randomly.
I retired my Sony Ericsson P1i only because the scroll wheel failed. It was a comfy phone and many aspects of that design should have been brought back with better hardware.
>Shoes that fit your feet every time so you won't get blisters.
How about toe socks? Something like pic related but thicker soles?
>Cars that will just run and don't require replacement of parts every four months.
I see your point but I think this is a problem of aggregating a huge number of parts, each having an acceptable MTBF but together something will always fail. A return to simplicity and some redundancy would be good. A modern car has about 100 micro controllers, these are hardly bug free.
>food that grows without having to spill your own blood on the soil for it to grow.
Now that is probably simpler: growing algae at sea. You will need iron salting, which many want to forbid since it solves the CO2 issue, but it could work.

Would Singapore count as an IRL cyberpunk setting? I'm assuming everyone here is familiar with William Gibson's "Disneyland with the Death Penalty" article.

What other actual locations would count as cyberpunk?

I'm surprised Shenzhen, China has not yet been mentioned. Go do an image search for "shenzhen night" or some variation on that. The place is the electronics capitol of the world.

All modern cities count as cyberpunk locals at this point. You have self driving electric cars piloted by an increasingly technocratic middle class driving by the homeless camps that litter and clog the streets and walkways. All the while glittering steel and glass liths scrape the clouds, their innards teeming with human drones operating ever more complex computer systems dedicated to supporting the monstrous corporate bureaucracies that more or less acts as the defacto government via lobbying, campaign funds, and even the writing of laws.

Who supplies the food? Industrial farms owned by a few megacorps. Who supplies the media? A few megacorps who exclusively hoard IP. Who supplies building materials and consumer goods? A few megacorps who work in international and overseas markets to provide the cheapest labor and goods. Who supplies logistical and computational resources. A few megacorps who have come to dominate the communications/software market. In some cases, these megacorps overlap, like in the case of amazon where they are a media, logistics, tech, and manufacturing conglomerate.

If you are not ruled by a conglomerate you are ruled by a dictator who, when they are reminded of the lack of power they hold culturally, religiously, or even traditionally, will neal under fealty to the unity of the conglomerate who has subsumed the largest and most powerful coalition of states or express their interests as a corpo conglomerate (like in the case of Russia). Now you can

On the other hand, you can walk down the street at after dark without worrying that Shitavious and half a dozen of his homeboys will pull up in a stolen car with clouds of weed smoke coming out of the windows and stomp you to death on the sidewalk for being a honkey in their presence. The Malay day-laborers are simpletons, but they know their place, the police tolerate no monkeyshines, and the streets are safe.

>if you feel like voicing your opinions on how the PAP run things

Why would you even think of such a thing, as a foreigner and a guest? I would not go to another country and try to tell them what to do. You sound very immature and very entitled.

>no drugs allowed

For some of us, that's a feature, not a bug.

Look, would you really rather live in Detroit? I've actually been to Detroit, by the way. I advise against going south of Eight Mile Road, east of Telegraph, or north of the Rouge River while wearing white skin. It's Haiti with snow in there.
