I may have said this already, but the most charitable interpretation I can give of this is that some investor told Marvelous they needed to "diversify their portfolio" since they've been making almost nothing but gay farmslop since the turn of the decade, with Daemon X Machina being one of the few exceptions, and evidently it's not doing well. Shame, I like mecha and was mildly interested in the first game. So they dug back in their vault and realized they were sitting on this series that used to be rather popular, but can't release it on the popular storefronts without censorship and are too lazy to push an uncensored version on PC first ala TurretGirls. Ditto for GUST, who have been an Atelier machine since Ryza. For Compile Heart, though, the new Neptunia mainline is absolutely an act of desperation after Tominaga's strategy of trying to get the western market with gimmicky indie-tier slop failed. As for Aquaplus, their main cash cow Underwater Ray Romano is officially ending with this next game, so they're probably looking for something they can pivot to in the meantime.

Nice. Not to brag, but I have the special Horny Trinity edition which includes all three Gal*Gun games. I say "not to brag" because it costed me a fuckton on Ebay, almost $500. At release, it was only sold through special retailers, but it was a killer deal for the retail price; at $120, you got all three games plus all the bonus LE apparel. I missed the boat, unfortunately, because Gal*Gun didn't hit my radar until much later. But I just couldn't NOT have those cute Kurona and Ekoro plushies when I found out about them...

My condolences for getting the Ghostlight-cucked version. Not only do they not respect the content of the games they port, their PC ports are absolute dogshit. I just bought Mary Skelter 2 off GOG since it was on sale dirt cheap and it honest-to-God runs worse than the Switch version, on way better hardware, and this is after FIVE patches. It takes a special kind of incompetence to manage that.

>Even though the way Share Energy works in VII was mostly dictated by Uzume's subconscious, the following CPUs need to sustain themselves doesn't have to be all that big
The main concern is Shift Periods. If her following begins to wane when one occurs, a new goddess will appear to replace her. Shift Periods are often accompanied by repute-damaging rumors and other events that encourage the shifting of faith towards a new goddess. They are the culmination of the fickleness of the masses. As you saw in VII, the CPUs' failure to deal with the Shift Period resulted in the Gold Third gaining control of Gamindustri. Granted, Kurome's intervention also had a large part in it, but there's speculation that a more "natural" Shift Period occurred in the new mainline resulting in these new goddesses gaining control and forcing the main four into backline roles. And I hate it, I would never answer to anyone other than White Heart. Fuck Rouge/Red Heart for replacing her and fuck Compile Heart for even entertaining the idea.
>Now, what if a CPU is in a mutual, loving relationship with a single follower? Can such a bond empower CPUs more than a decent number of believers and make them live on forever as long as they're loved?
I've proposed such a thing before, and it's absolutely something heartwarming to think about, but few CPUs will ever get that opportunity because of the inherent distance between them and their followers, and at the end of the day, Blanc's responsibility is mainly to her nation. If I were her only follower, well, she wouldn't exactly be the goddess of Lowee any more, would she? Would it then be time for us to found a new nation?
At the end of the day, we're just extrapolating something that Compa clearly didn't put that much thought into. All I know is that God I hope these new goddesses are gone or demoted by the end of Unlimited. I don't want a Lowee not ruled by my wife Blanc, and this new bitch is already looking like a character type I'm not that fond of to begin with.
>I'm pretty sure there is a lore way to implement such a system in an action-RPG Neptunia game, especially since the next mainline is a reboot with no apparent ties to VII.
All of what you proposed is nice, but we both know Compa is not that savvy nor likely has the budget for such a varied system. Even in Fairy Fencer F, aside from SP skills that use them, the different weapon types are mostly limited to basic combos where you only see the switch for a split-second. That said, for all that I've said, I actually enjoy the idea of a more hand-to-hand. I'm too shonenbrained to not love seeing a good brawl, and Blanc definitely seems like the type who would not hesitate to get down and dirty with her enemies.

It's not even lore-accurate, at that. Not only is Goddess Neptune (the real one) almost certainly much older than her (in HDN/RB1 she's literally hundreds of years old), but Purple Heart is a much more mature and "older" figure anyway. I believe Tsunako straight-up said Big Nep was conceived as a middle ground between "loli" Nep and "adult" Purple Heart. In other words, a teenage Nep. This is just another case of IFI being incompetent trannylators.

You're welcome, I really like Fairy Fencer and wish they would make another RPG, especially since the Evil Goddess route ends on such an obvious cliffhanger. I haven't had any issues with Fairy Fencer F on PC, personally, but then again, I'm running it on its native Windows, and I have an (extremely) beefy laptop that can brute-force pretty much everything but the most demanding western AAA games. My ROG Ally, on the other hand, does experience frequent dips, especially in battles where it can go below 30fps. So yes, Compa shitcode, there's no excuse for a PS3 game running that bad on modern hardware.
