Yes it has. IIRC, the last time it went this long was during the Julay-era, when Robi's place was well on it's way to becoming the direct-successor to 8ch.
>Who knows? Maybe the Mongolians have suddenly whisked Robi off to Ulaanbaatar, where they are all in sekrit negotiations to establish him as the reigning sovereign over the nation!? :D
>I still haven't gotten around to figuring out the dependencies for BUMP
My apologies for this being a challenge for everyone, apparently. I'll try to help you work through that if you'd care to together.
>but I did make a backup of the board with wget after the last scare.
>It's not a perfect backup by any means, but it does have all the text I think, I have to select each html file individually to see in the browser and I didn't check everything, the CSS, and the thumbnails.
Nice! Yes, wget or cURL are both good options as well. The primary benefit of BUMP (over literally all the other choices, AFAICT) is that I intentionally designed it to keep all the media files in a separate directory under each parent thread -- with each file named as originally posted -- so that mere humans/scripting can come at them all easily after the fact right through the filesystem. Everything else mimics the server's actual structure, which simply dumps them all into a single yuge filepile directory, and each named by filehash. Uggh. :P
>If necessary, I can wrap the whole thing into a tarball and upload it, though it will be a couple months old.
I don't think that will be necessary, but making plans to do so would be a good 'dry run' on your part IMHO.
I have a current BUMP archive of the board, from about 24hrs before (give or take) when I first noticed the 502. So maybe a handful of posts missing? And I also saved the Index page post-hoc out of a Brave tab, so we should be able to retrieve the text (only) of most if not all of those.
>I really hope it doesn't come down to it, though.
This. Hopefully Robi will appoint a special cabinet minister to handle Alogs, offloading it from his busy Presidential Schedule , and things will be back to normal soon! :D
>I'm tired of migrating between IBs, and I'm tired of losing people every single time it happens.
Please just relax old fren. The burden for this isn't on your shoulders this time around. But , we covet your prayers that it will all work out well... plus, any words of wisdom you might have for us all, should things necessitate a migration somewhere. Cheers, Greentext anon! :^) Last edited 21/03/2025, 15:36:26 by chobitsu
