Oh is that the name of it? I didn't know what it was. I think it's suppose to look like the internal scaffolding of a traditional asian building. Or at least that's what it looks like to me.

/comfy/ is an iconic board on Teh Internets, Anon. It's been around in various forms for years. The subline says it all, really :
> /comfy/ - A place to relax

The >tl;dr is that /comfy/ is an idea as much as a 'place'. We all just try to encourage and help lift each other up here without letting that devolve into absolute Current Year Hobgotry. I hope that helps a bit.

BTW, welcome Anon! Please look around the board while you're here. :)
>>10322
No we talk about all sort of comfy things.
But we do solve a lot of puzzles around here though. If this current one doesn't suit you fancy wait a day or so and we'll have some smaller and easier ones.

The back story to this one is kind on interesting. It's one of several that were made back in the 80s and appeared in Spectrum and other home computer fan publications but unfortunately the original files were lost. But since the images exist various modern ZX artists have reconstituted them and added them to the database under the credit of the original authors.

>Really glad to see the mooveh is 20secs long now!
Yeah, I wanted to take a good look at this one so I increased the setting. It was tough, for me at least. You can see me attack the wood pile after the framing, and get stymied by the fact that the desk isn't a gradient, lol. Pulling in the wood+coin pieces wood've been more effective than what I actually did, which was to continue messing with chunks after they were exhausted. Someone else eventually finished that.

I hadn't wanted to touch the coin piles, but notwithstanding that it somehow takes up the last quarter of the video it turned out easy. There were enough distinctions of tone and value that matching by shape wasn't necessary.

Incidentally, whoever shape-sorted might consider this rule of thumb: only shape-sort when you're actually reduced to seeking out a piece by its shape. Pile up the ones that don't fit and subdivide the pile into the 16 sets as needed, rather than front-loading all that tedious effort.
Replies: >>10442
>>10441
If you dropped back in towards the end of the puzzle with just some coins left, it had already been almost entirely sorted by shape earlier by somebody independent of color. I pulled out all the remaining wood and border peices from each sorted set to finish those parts off before I ringed the remaining coin peices around the puzzle, mostly for the last screen shot. Establishing each coin pile's borders and getting all the stacked coins arranged realy helped frame out the space and allowed me to finish off the wood bretty easily.

This albums is not realy comfy material, but I believe it is worth a listen. The lyrics are fascinating and wonderfully put together. It took me a while to figure out what the second song, Funambulist, was about, but it tells the story of a specific historical event with some poetic flourishes. Comicaly, the song even referneces Richard Nixon:

None speak of the pious in history:
Notre Dame conquered by a poète maudit.
Beyond France’s gendarmes and butchery
rose my twin-eyed concrete Babel staring
down the gods.
Stir their hearts;
Men applaud
crime as art.

Violent birth.
Pile driver lancers
pierce the earth
and bleed the clouds.
(Walk on its veins).

Steel and glass.
The propane dancers
wrap this mass
in burning shrouds.
(Forest of cranes).

New York, I adopt this child.

Flight over the ocean,
Mind as vine to stone
on a tower.
Sleight of foot in motion,
twined around a throne.
I count and count the hours.

Alea jacta est.

Wire.
A workman’s attire.
The years we conspired
finally bear fruit
this August
mo(u)rn
a nation forlorn,
its emperor shorn
of august suit
by modest
blades.

As I walk he fades.

Crate:
five hundred pound weight.
Whisked up the freight
to south level
one zero
fo(u)r
the nightwatchman’s snore,
my skull on the floor,
sold to the devil
for heroes’
deeds.

To the skies I lead.

Bowman draws the string.
Ropes and cable…
...cling stowaway to the arrow’s flight;
at missile’s point, north and south unite.
Cordina, clamp, cavaletti, knot…
At backbreaking dawn, the wires pull taut.

Rope still sways.
Winds will rage.
Heart ablaze,
I wage
war
on fate.
Fear devoid,
lungs inflate,
tempt the void:

The first step.

Le néant.
Vos chants, vos cris, je les entends.
A chaque pas, les nuages s’adoucissent.
Je danse. Elégance.
Je me permets un sourire:
Si je meurs, quelle belle mort!
Avec les dieux à mes pieds.

I wave, I sit, I rest, I dream.

Speak to birds
words of calm.
Psalms of faith
swathe no auspice
wreaked by siren howls.

Uproar from the lowland:
the rattle of lawmen’s chains.
The lords of the northland
cast me to the plains
a mortal man.

The last step.

Nona, spin your thread.
Join it to the Sun,
so I may walk.
Morta, rouse your dead.
Tell them of the Sun,
for with me they walk.

>Does anyone know how to deactivate the ctrl + space shortcut in a Chromium browser?
It might be your browser. OTOH, it may be your Desktop Environment that's doing something unwanted with that key-combo. Here's some info about the browser:

I found out that on chromium browsers that just space works for snap to grid.
Also they brought back other render options so other browsers are usable again, it's a little janky with scrolling rn though.

I've also got some ZX Spooktrum ones that I can post later this week too. And also while it's not normal puzzle procedure, if anyone has a Halloween puzzle that they've been wanting to make go ahead and do it this week, even before this one gets finished if need be.

Replies: >>11466

No, but I am blaming them for spamming hardcore child porn, in a concerted effort to deplatform valuable tools like Tor. After all, "There could be Literally Hitlers here..." :D
Replies: >>11467
>>11466
Please think of what you are saying. What wood the Mossad and its friends stand to gain from making Jiggie inaccessible? Why wood it be worth the effort? Don't you think they have more devious things to do with their time? It's statements like yours which create the stereotype that Jew and government skeptics are paranoid schizophrenics. The degenerates posting child abuse pictures are probably from southeast Asia, same as on the deepchans whose addresses get sent here.

>Please think of what you are saying.
I've already thought about what I'm saying, fren. :)

>What wood the Mossad and its friends stand to gain from making Jiggie inaccessible?
I already answered that question in my previous, full-1488 post. They feel threatened by literally every.single. outlet for free speech (cf. Roblox, et al).

All you need to is critically analyze the consolidation of media over the past couple decades, and the absolutely ridiculous long-list of """hate-speech""" items in the ((( ADL )))'s site, and you begin to understand they don't want anything they don't have solidly under their thumb to prosper. Being able to use Tor in any location of the Internet whatsoever automatically means you're probably a CIS-White male, and that you believe in God, family, and all the things that might make a nation great. This last point is ofc the Globohomo's greatest perceived threat: nationalism.

<--->

Anon, my apologies, but I'm hiding this thread. I've given my honest answers, I have nothing more to add to the topic, and out of respect for the wonderful /comfy/ board, I don't want to promote ((( politics ))) discussions here unduly. I try to appreciate and enjoy what I can, when I can, but I always wish to see other anons /comfy/ in spirit.

Anyway, nice progress team. I had the sky and valley mostly sorted last night and it looks like those portions were finished off.

Maybe we only do 1000 pieces or so going forward? This puzzle is a bit intimidating.

I don't think there's any rule that says Anons can't simply lay this one aside for now (after all, anyone can fiddle with it at their leisure thereafter whenever they see fit to) and just make another puzzle and move on?

After all this is /comfy/ , not /rigor/ heheh. :D

At some point it stopped looking like snow covered mountain to me and started looking like blue john or indigo dyed, marbled steak.
This was probably the most difficult one that I worked on.

It's a berry bretty scene though.
