Hello Neptunians,

I need some help. Earlier today I was browsing threads here and heard about Nepgear and her Conquest Ending. I've never seen that before so I got curious and watched a NepTube video of it.

Guys, I've never been so destroyed before. How could this happen in Neptunia? I'd expect this to be on some sort of twisted fan-fiction but not in the real game.

Watching that seriously made my stomach knot. I know it isn't a canon ending by any means but the fact that it's a possible ending in the actual game just did something to me.

I've been trying to replace these feelings by overloading with Neps. However, whenever I play I am reminded of their deaths…

I probably wouldn't be as effected if Nepgear was killed instead of Neptune but Nepgear is my favorite Nep. She had to endure everything. She was most effected.
Rom and Ram's scenes crushed my soul however

Please anons, I need to be cured of this soon. I know with time I'll forget about it but I need to see some Nepping and I need it from people who know about the ending.

I liked the Conquest ending, it made me love Nepugia even more. For some reason, when watching anime/playing videogames I like girls who endure lots of pain and still keep going on. (eng isn't my first language).

Neps can really tough it out.

Then again the Neptunia universe is really quite unpleasant if you think about it too much, so anyone trying to run anything there has to be mentally hardened in some way, or outright crazy.

I was thinking…with the next /icup/ starting to get brewed up (apparently), should we get involved? There's enough characters in this series to easily generate a team, but then again maybe there are some pertinent reasons not to form one. One I could think of is that, when the /v/ general is active most of the activity is on /v/ (which is in no danger of NOT having a team itself). But we still get 30-60 UIDs posting here when the general is cycled out…

Any thoughts on this?

Hmm. It looks like your chances of being included go up rather drastically the higher your board is on the list.

Since most of the board is on /v/ right now, we're at like 142nd. Which isn't high at all, although we are more active than /atheism/ if that counts for anything.

Here are some pertinent threads on /icup/…
>>>/icup/4657
>>>/icup/4716

I'm pretty sure we got close to Top 50 when the /v/ generals got shitcanned a few months back but then we dropped down again when they started up again. Pretty sure if everyone on /v/ posted on this board for a few days we could probably hover around where /baph/ and /4chon/ is right now.

Well, even if it looks like we aren't going to be added for the icup, at least we have our ideas for the team down

Probably. We can also ask /v/'s writers if they can do something for the icup.

A) That line was a pretty accurate translation of the original Japanese text. The only difference is that the Japanese version is a tad bit more explicit about what secret HDD collection actually means

B) You really should use the Japanese dub. The English translation isn't exactly a sub, but it's about as close to one as you can get given the technical limitations and unfamiliarity of the translator.

Reposted from /v/

Alright, it's ready to put out there. We (the Re;Birth Retranslation team) made a new tool for the Victory/Re;Birth engine. It's called STCM Editor, it's basically a new text editor that replaces NR#_STRTOOL - the text editor that more or less comes with Kitserver (which is needed to run things like the Retranslation). You can pretty much throw STRTOOL straight into the trash with this out.

The reason for making this was as I stated earlier; the current tool was more or less a hack that didn't always put the text back together the right way once you edited it. This would basically cause the game to flip its shit during a dialogue scene.

We didn't have this problem too much in RB2, but we encountered it right away in RB3. So we made this to finally stick a fork in the issue. Aside from being able to edit text, you can also further take apart the CL3 file, run a file analysis…it's just most powerful all around.

Also, while the readme says explicitly it's for RB3, it'll actually pretty much work with every Neptunia game starting with Victory going forward, at least if my tests with the ReBirth series as a whole are anything to go by.

If you have any bugs to report, post 'em here or in the retranslation thread on /nep/.

Thanks to U3Shit for taking the time out of translating RB3 to make this.

Sure will. That's how these things got written in the first place, after all. Exploring different directions her character can take in her two forms.

I'd still like hearing what people thought of things and what sort of stuff I already included they'd like to see more of so I know what deserves some extra detailing and expanding upon.

I'm not sure what to think. To be honest I never really associated Plutia with transformation fetishes.

Anyway, one thing that struck me is that Plutia is very big on punishing bad behavior with a strong degree of retribution. If Plutia had this ability, I'm sure she'd use it as an incarceration methodology…with permanent transformation and storage for capital offenses. Others with lesser sentences could be used as stress relievers for a time, or be untransformed for work-release, or even be utilized as combat arms for her humanoid form.

Anyway, just my 0.02. Another thought building off of this would be a hopelessness aspect. Like for example, a horrible criminal (serial killer for instance) got caught by Purple Heart on a rare patrol during her two decades in UD, and Plutia transformed the criminal as a capital punishment. You could have all these scenes of the other stars of the Basilicom walking by the crim over the years with a look of disgust, or nearly getting rescued by the other non Planeptune CPUs/turncoat Seven Sages before being informed of their actions years ago to varying looks of horror or disgust.

What order do you recommend playing the games and watching the anime? I'm almost finished remake 1 and am looking forward to the next one, and the anime.

What order is the recommended for this series?

I don't know if they have 90% off deals for Neptunia, but RB1 goes for dirt cheap now. Even at 15 dollars its still a good deal.

>>1985 (OP)
Is there really a recommended order for the series? All I heard was "Avoid the original PS3 HDN gameplay wise unless you want to know how it started". That being said, the anime is basically a loose adaptation of mk2/RB2 and some parts of Victory/RB3 with some liberties taken. If you're hoping for some newer stuff, read the manga.
>>1985 (OP)
Just don't start with the anime. I started with the anime back when it first came out (before the games were on Steam) and I didn't understand a fucking thing.

Play at least RB1 before jumping into the anime.
the anime was my first exposure to anything Neptunia related

YMMV

I like the OP and ED too much. I don't think I really cared about how "good" or "bad" the show itself was, even though I hated the drama.

Fact of the matter is, if you see characters like the ones in Neptunia, you know what you're getting into.
