Also Ram and Rom to me is more "Look at these adorable little sisters, don't you want them to squeeze you while you pat their heads?". Which is what I felt the goal was all along: They're the ones that you adopt if you're all the way into Blanc. That's why it's way different if you compare Nep and Nepgear.

>I am a last generation weeb, so I basically got onto the scene right before mainstream culture raped everything in the 2010s.
between you, me, and the blancfag, i think this describes a lot of us
>Look, it's not like I don't find myself attracted to any loli characters (...) I however, do not find myself attracted to loli characters like Rin Kokonoe, or Ram in her normal form. I've always had a hard time understanding physical attraction to these characters and rather come to the conclusion that most "antis" as twitterfags would say
to me, it just seems like you're only attracted to some or certain lolis, probably more attracted to their personalities or because of a personal attachment you have with them, which is understandable; that is the partially the point of having characters in a story, they're meant to get you to care about the story. feeling romantically or even sexually attracted to one, at least to me, means that the character is just really well-made, either from a writing standpoint or a design standpoint, or both.
there're even different subcategories of loli, if you want to try and pinpoint a spot where the physical attraction just stops for you. ram and rom would probaby fall somewhere around heidi complex i think
it's worth noting that "lolicon"--having a lolita complex in general--isn't exclusively a sexual thing, it's more than fair if someone finds a loli cute purely in a daughter or a little sister kind of way, i'd still say that's lolicon. i guess it bothers me when people single out sexual or romantic desire specifically as being lesser or problematic somehow.
to explain the general physical attraction, at least with me, i just generally find "cute" more appealing or arousing than "sexy". i just like smaller body types, and all the things that would entail, like flat chests, small/flat butt, generally...i guess "cuter" proportions, i don't know how to explain it in a very satisfying way. i just find "cute" appeal more attractive.
i like the idea of being physically intimate with a girl that's shorter than me, like cuddling her while nuzzling my chin on top of her head, or teasing her a little for being small, but ultimately reassuring her that that's what i like about her and making her feel more confident in herself, or picking her up and carrying her around...
i also like the physical comedy it entails in a lot of series. as much as i get onto other people for finding the same three memes funny, the joke that's in every series with a legal loli where they get confused for being a kid and the comedy that comes from that always makes me happy, i just find it all really cute.
there was a period in my preteens where i thought i was entirely asexual, since i was vehemently unattracted to most women/girls around me, and the thought of sex or starting a family actually really grossed me out, but this also coincided with me beginning to watch a lot more anime and playing more games, and after watching enough stuff and incidentally finding out about hentai, i eventually came to the conclusion that it was simply just the fact that i wasn't attracted to women/girls who tried too hard to be "mature" or "sexy", and that i favored "cute" far more. a lot of anime and games helped me figure myself out and what i wanted more, as odd as that may sound. now that i'm older and still like this, i'm wondering if it's just my desires for a "girlfriend" figure and a "daughter" figure manifesting as this, apparently it's common for people who over-emphasize romance and obsess over finding a partner to imagine their partner fulfilling every social role, which causes problems, but psycho-analysis is gay and dumb so ignore literally all of this
i don't know how common this is with other lolicons, i imagine if you ask around you'll get a whole slew of different answers because everyone's different (i've met people who're into loli characters but were specifically only attracted to curvier women irl and found smaller women unattractive, i've also run into people online who...to avoid being explicit, their desires were unfortunately not limited to fiction, and i think everyone here has seen at least one story of someone who was vehemently anti-loli or anti-anime in general, but ended up being a closet predator).
i don't know if this was a very satisfying answer, i think it's just simple for most people, a fetish is just a fetish.
also, i too am specifically unattracted to characters like rin kokonoe, but that's just specifically because i find being bratty to the point of being outright cunty to be not very cute. a kid trying way too hard to act like an adult somewhat flies in the face of what i find "cute", i'm reminded that's why i've historically not been attracted to a lot of girls when i was younger

Oh I didn't mean it that way. That is a classic otaku trope as well, the little sister type who may be a little more but needs to rely on you either way. (Also my IP changed again thanks lightning storm)

Someone on the other /nepgen/ removed the paragraph about this place from the newest OP. That wouldn't have been one of you, would it?

Also, I can confirm that the graphical glitches in Fairy Fencer F's PC version are NOT limited to 4K resolution as I just saw them playing on my ROG Ally (max 1080p). It seems to just be a problem with the port in general. I hear it was way more buggy at launch. Compa acts like she just can't code for anyone that ISN'T Slagstation and Noire the Whoire because the PS versions seem to consistently be the most stable versions of their games. Is it incompetence, is it favoritism, or is it both? Hmm...

>besides, i don't think gachafags usually do anything that isn't related to their gacha. the amount of fucking times i've tried to get blue archive/genshit/zzzfags to play or watch literally anything else only for them to write it off...
And frustratingly, it's not just a western weeb thing. The sales numbers in Japan support this. A decade ago, Japan bought and supported games in much higher numbers than they do now. Otaku and ecchi games on the Vita sold tens of thousands of copies in Japan alone. Now? They barely sell 5k. Famitsu numbers get more and more depressing each year. Anything that isn't AAA or Nintendo just does extremely poorly there now, regardless of quality. Where did all the audience go? What's the difference between then and now? Gacha becoming popular. The Japanese have become hopelessly addicted to their smartphones, and that commands all of their attention now to the point if it isn't on a phone, 90% of them don't care any more. The Sony/Nintendo censorship only explains things to a point. Nintendo's Switch now has an install base there dwarfing what the PS4 and Vita had even in their prime, and yet the otaku games that released on it (even before Nintendo became Sony 2.0) sold way worse than they did on the Vita or even the PS3/4. In fact, you can argue that just about everything wrong with Japanese games and anime today is downstream of gachashit devouring the domestic market, forcing the industry to turn its gaze westward and thus be subject to "global standards" and the judgement of Twittards and Covid weebs. 2020 was the tipping point, not just for Compile Heart games becoming lame, but Japanese games in general. And thus gacha took over the niches Japanese games used to fill, leaving us with our situation today where your choices are basically either pozzed/censored slop or mobile gambling skinner boxes. I hate this industry now and wish only death upon it. Here in the west, I open up Fediverse timelines and it's literally 50% gacha discussion or more. These people routinely complain about censorship and how cucked Japanese games have become, and how gacha is the only thing that caters to them now, yet almost NONE of them have even mentioned Tokyo Clanpool or LoveR Kiss Endless Memories, two uncucked Japanese games that just released recently, or even more indie stuff like Majogami or Sakuna. It's ALL gacha. Nigger, you have no right to complain about how lame Japanese publishers have become when the few that do go above and beyond to keep catering to you in spite of everything trying to stop them are met with barely any support for it.

>but gamers liked Phil Spencer
I don't know about that. He may have inherited most of the issues caused by his predecessors, but he didn't do much to resolve them in any way. He was also kinda of a lolcow. How delusional do you have to be to think you can just BUY OUT Nintendo with your half-dead enterprise? Nintendo were fucking whipping your dead console like a nigger on a cotton farm and you think you have any leverage over them? Of course, I only expect things to get worse under Ms. Pajeeta, but that does not retroactively absolve Phil of being a shitty CEO. Xbox has been a joke for generations now and poor leadership and decisions has much to do with it.

In recent board news, I'm fixing many of the oldest threads that have been broken by the site back end changing over time.

In series news since the last post, many new Nep games have come out. Nep 5 is rumored to be on the way, there's collaboration game with a Canadian company and there's also a Nep phone game (an SRPG) being made.

Also Tsunako left Compile Heart because her parents are sick and she's looking after them. But she's still working on the Nep games.

Is this just a humblebrag? Of course it's worth it, it's arguably the best game in the series. I would recommend you play HDN PS3 or Re;Birth 3 first, though, as this one doesn't really set up the characters and setting like they do and mostly assumes you're already familiar with them.

I'm more just asking because I fret about possibly getting in on a series when it's on #7. Because yeah, I don't know anything about this setting or characters.

It's actually more like the fourth, being the fourth mainline game. It's called VII as a joke on it being the seventh game in all (counting the spinoffs) and being a direct sequel to the previous game which was titled V/Victory. It's properly read as V-2, not VII as in Seven.

IMO there's no question that what you say is true. It's probable that it didn't even start out as a glownigger-funded gayop, but only became so after the kikes realized what a goldmine it could prove to be to lock away free discourse from the public eyes (while still leaving the entirety of it all under their ((( watchful eyes ))), ofc). Untold amounts of content have disappeared from the Internets via doxxcord, cloistered away in these little information tombs.

It's pure evil.

Today is (was), by one definition, Blanc's birthday. The goddesses don't have official birthdays, but as Blanc represents Nintendo, and the NES was their breakthrough into video gaming, as well as Ultradimension Blanc being based on the NES in particular, I think it fits. Happy birthday, my love. If I only had some cupcakes and candles (and maybe an NES), I'd do a thing. Alas, I don't normally get cupcakes (I don't like them much myself). For now, I hope it's enough that I'm always thinking of her, and especially when I go to bed, hoping to dream of her. I want to hold her so badly...

I have no idea if this is the best way to go about it but I usually just stick to the pre-set sword, hand to hand and gun routes and set attacks from least powerful to most powerful. I usually put transformation attacks on the last triangle attack and combo link on the last circle and cross attacks. Never had any trouble with this setup.

I don't think this is a good way to do it. If it's anything like the later games, every combo attack you use adds to your wait time, so you should set your strongest attacks first in line so you can kill the enemy faster and not have to use as many moves.
Replies: >>8144

>every combo attack you use adds to your wait time
Honestly I have no idea if it does. At most, it would only be an issue until you get Neptune Break but if it does it has never caused any issues for what that is worth.
Pretty sure the strongest ones are not able to be set early though, there are some limitations but I do not remember them off the top of my head.
The most helpful thing at lower levels IIRC is to attack elemental weaknesses even if that means using guns most of the time. It's been a few years since I last played but I seem to remember just setting the newest combo attacks and not thinking about it too hard. If you have effective healing and you're hitting weaknesses you should be able to sustain yourself.
Replies: >>8166

Definitely worth doing with Compa but Neptune and IF both hit decently hard with physical or whatever the non weapon attacks are called. Pretty sure their gun attacks are weaker than their physicals.

I ordered a PS Vita (my PC is a toaster and I don't have other consoles) and I'd be interested in checking out this series by starting with Re;Birth 1, but I'd first like to get to know some things in advance.
-What's the ratio of story/gameplay?
-Is the gameplay engaging and challenging?
-Are there branching endings and other things I need a guide for?
-How much fanservice is there? (Asking from pro-fanservice angle)
-Does it have hard Japanese? (I want to play it in Japanese)
-Does it really have "fourth-wall-breaking, trope-demolishing dialogue" as the Steam description says? (Asking from angle where I would find that potentially cringe)
-Is the experience gimped by not getting certain game industry references, etc etc?
-How do the following entries compare to the first game?
-Other things that I should know?
