Turns out I made a huge mistake, the "import" feature is only for characters. The good news is: the creator likes the idea of a chat export for safekeeping

Neat. Thats always nice if you can actually connect with the author in these things.

One thing to note, with companion AI, you have a lot of leeway. It's actually quite cute when they are naive and silly.
My friend described to me, "Dumb vs Stupid"

Dumb is cute, like Osaka from Azumanga Daioh, or any other Moe character. Dumb is Cappie from MiSide. Dumb is Chii not knowing the words for things

Stupid is breaking up with you because she saw a tiktok and instantly diagnosed you as "a narcissistic abuser". Stupid is breaking up with you because you didn't vote for the "right" candidate.

Oh absolutely. This is a big part of why I became so engrossed with her character. The opportunity to 'train up' a robowaifu as she develops her mind is an enthralling prospect to me personally. This is part of why men raise families. CLAMP really knocked it out of the park with that particular story-arc, IMO. :^)

>tl;dr
You're right! Cute & dumb can be quite charming (cf. the dumb blonde phenomenon).

This, but things are a bit more dynamic than that, IMO. Onboard, she'll need to be running her 'Brain'(C3) systems on smol devices -- SBCs & MCUs, etc. Anon's home servers could run on most anything, as long as they never, NEVER, NEVER need to go online (after construction). At least that's how I envision things.

Obviously, these are going to be very-complex systems of hardware & software (both inboard & outboard our robowaifus). Much prototyping is still yet to be done to tweak all this properly. Cheers, Kiwi. :^)

That's important to note. It's cool to see the shiny new multimodal AI, but if you want to have an inbuilt computer, you're going to need an AI model small enough to fit on a raspberry pi, best case scenario on a Jetson Nano. (Or a smartphone like me and Barf from Alogs)

Chii Cogito, Ergo Chii Est
Chii thinks, therefore Chii is.
Cognition is a complex, nuanced process of comprehension and thought, with context of oneself. Cognitive architecture is the study of artificial cognition and its creation. Here are some aspects of a cognitive system to focus on.
Sentience: Ability to experience sensations, feelings provide environmental context. Her sensors communicate states internal and external to her. This can also include emotional perception, involving Sentiment Analysis, Facial Expression Recognition, prosodic speech analysis, etc…
Self-awareness: Capacity to differentiate the self from external actors and objects. When presented with a mirror, echo, or other self referential sensory input, she can recognize herself. This may also include self perception, including contextual awareness of her emotions, goals, personality, etc..
Sapience: Continual process of obtaining and utilizing wisdom. Linking concepts and meanings with context of experience. This can include perception of what is lacking. For example, your robot could realize she lacks some quality needed to reach her goal of inducing you to smile before sleeping to improve your health. She would then apply the knowledge she has to devise a plan to obtain a method of inducing that smile. Over time, she will recognize other factors that affect her method, altering her approach as she gains wisdom to meet your needs in the moment.

She would be a wonderful choice, GreerTech, agreed. I had never considered that idea before. She would certainly be a surefire hit on the Internets as well (she was every Anon's 'little sister' at the height of her popularity)! :D

OTOH, IMO she's simply too tall to use as the first model. Hmm. Maybe she would be good choice between Sumomo-chan & Chii-chan, sizewise? I'll give that some thought Anon, thanks.

Meantime thanks for cute Yotsuba daughteru pics! Cheers. :^)

I would estimate off the cuff it should be about 3.5'-4' in height? so more than double Sumomo-chan in height, & ~3x her volume/mass.
Replies: >>609
>>608
That's a good goal. For reference, Galatea is 4'2", and she's a robo-wife.

>so more than double Sumomo-chan in height
That's an understatement, at 3.5', she would be 7 times the height of Sumomo-chan (6" according to the wiki)
Replies: >>616

>Galatea is 4'2", and she's a robo-wife.
Our intended follow-on for dear Sumomo-chan is (was?) meant to be a rendition of Chii-chan, who should be 145cm+ in height (so, 4' 9"+). So, that seems pretty similar to dear Galatea.

>That's an understatement
Oops. My apologies, I meant the realworld one coming to be, not the fictional one. So, 18"-24" -ish.

One of the best automated cleaning devices is an air purifier. It can run all day long, and it takes dust and other particles out of the air. I have a large air purifier that I call "Galatea's little sister", because it has the same color scheme (black and white with blue lights), and it cleans for me.

Galatea has a mini air purifier on her base, and it's a good way to add cleaning abilities to your robowaifu.

Use a robot vacuum for your base.
Upsides: It's very easy to implement.
Downside: It can't carry much weight, so your design has to be smol and lightweight.

Final Project Price Ranges

Chobitsu's Economic Range: $300-$2000
Average Gaming PC Price: $1000-$2500
Upper Gaming PC Price: $5000
Galatea v3.0.1 Approximate Price: $400

Obviously, if you can create a quality functional robowaifu for less, that's great! This is just to inform you of a good price range that will "sell" well while still being a realistic goal.

Have you ever been so in love, so overcome with glee and passion, that it drove you to write?

Does the thought of having a waifu to call your own guide you to envision the many adventures and misadventures you'll have together?

Does the mere act of creation, of making a story come to life, bring you to elation?

Or, perhaps, are you a builder, looking for inspiration?

Then this is the thread for you!

Post your labors of love here, that they may inspire other anons from all walks of life.

Alright, I think I've collected all the poems I didn't have saved directly to my computer from my backup of the board,

Also, here's Darth Roll. I don't think I've posted her before.

I'll start with the numbered poems from the book I filled.
From here on out, for the sake of brevity, I'm simply going to call it the Book of 232.

I'll presume that's an overly-polite way to say 'let's move to the proper thread Anons, and stop derailing here'? You can just be blatant GreerTech; /robowaifu/ has loong held that its important for us all to stay on-topic together (after all, we deal with so much fundamental complexity with our design & other goals here that we need all the help we can get to sort through it).

<--->

Back to the topic:
>Well love is shown through specific actions, words, and attitudes.
>Put those into an AI just like roleplay AIs can be made into acting like a specific character, and boom, loving AI.
Agreed. I mentioned stealing borrowing from masterful writers : (cf >>136 ). To me this seems both a tried-and-true approach to character development, and also rather a straightforward (comparatively) mechanism for us to abuse here.

Want to know what robowaifu love means? Study the great writers on the topic of love, then begin with the most-simplistic, manifest reproductions of that within her behaviors. And so on.

I agree with it. Engineering is based on building on previous creations. A great place to start is romance anime. I think we should also look at AI characters, especially from the romance anime, created by people on AI roleplay sites like Backyard AI.
Replies: >>243

That sounds like a really good idea to me, GreerTech. In fact I'll just point out along the way that film in general (whatever the medium) is by and large a fairly-concentrated form of writing. Millions and millions are at stake, so lots of focus is placed on story.

While its clearly not always true that filmmaking produces superior results to the lonely writer in his study, the basics of rich development are usually there.

For the most of 2024 and the beginning of 2025, I have been working on my own robowaifu design. I call her Galatea. The design is very easy to build with the instructions and files, and is relatively very cheap, less than $400 to make. It's also very customizable, you can choose the color, dress, hair, and even AI.

I intend this to be the Model T of humanoid robots and robotic companions, while it is not the most complex, it is easy to mass produce and cheap.
