I remember rescuing a big turtle (bigger than that one) trying to make his way across a busy roadway during rush hour traffic one morning. The woman who came along behind me would've literally run him right over if I had gotten square in the roadway and shouted her down.

The turtle was trying to make his way over to a big pond. I hauled him up off the road (him hissing & threatening me heh :D and sat him near to the water.

Not sure, but it may be work related.
I've been stuck in the same tasks for too much time, but there is no way I can make things move forward since what I have to change depends on another team.
And even then, my leader says "don't try to burn yourself out" when I ask for new tasks.
Sprint Reviews and Daily Meetings have been agonizing because of this.
Replies: >>13961

Work can be bitch sometimes, I know that feel.
Try to find the good stuff outside of work, it helps a lot until things get better. Tell yourself that nothing is ever final and that you can always find another job if you put your mind to it. Personally, I'm thinking of changing soon, even if I don't have any qualifications or skills, I figure I could always get some training.
Just thinking about it helps you get through the crappy times at work.

Hope things will get better anon, don't do anything stupid!
Replies: >>13962

>you can always find another job if you put your mind to it
Ehhhhhhh, I just got this job last November, and I only got assigned to a team this February.
I don't wanna throw the towel yet, given that the job market for software devs is not bretty. I just wish I was doing something else that could help my growth in the company and that made me feel like I am actually doing something.
Replies: >>13963 >>13964
>>13962
Oooh I see.
In that case, there's nothing to do but sit back and wait for things to move in a better direction, I suppose.
Anyway, stay strong, there will always be a better tomorrow.
>>13962
Your direct manager clearly wants you to just take it easy/cherry pick. Why not do just that, Anon?

In the meantime, find a software-related hobby to invest your interests into during the interim (since clearly boredom is tormenting you). What kind of dev? Here's an easy-to-follow walkthrough on using C++ for ML inferencing (so-called "AI") -- maybe it would be of some interest to you:
https://medium.com/data-science/llama-cpp-writing-a-simple-c-inference-program-for-gguf-llm-models-12bc5f58505f

Good luck, Anon.

>Your direct manager clearly wants you to just take it easy/cherry pick. Why not do just that, Anon?
Because, despite him telling me to take it easy, the rest of the team seems to be in a hot spot, and I don't think I should be like that considering this.
>In the meantime, find a software-related hobby to invest your interests into during the interim (since clearly boredom is tormenting you)
I actually was gonna do something related to that, since where I work, they really want people to integrate AI to their workflow. Something about model context protocols and tools like windsurf to increase productivity.
I may think relying too much on AI may be a bit of a bad idea, but since I got nothing going for right now, I may dip my toes there.

Thanks anon

Any fatty vanilla yogurt (that one has cream in it) and most supper hoppy beers wood probably be fine. The more widely available modern (toned down) IPAs are largely terrible. Anything listed with "fruity" or "session" will be bad. Some widely available (in Murica anyway) others I wood suggest are Bell's Two Hearted IPA, Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, Ballast Point Sculpin, or Lagunitas IPA.

It's too bad if it's gone permanently.
>>14437
The beer market in general seams to have been flooded with bad imitations of small scale companies' products promoted by some part of Inbev or another large company. "Drinkability" is generally the focus for mass appeal, so more things are lowest common denominator levels of bland. At least where I live, there was much better access to and variety of beer a decade ago.

Bell was bought up by Lion Little World Beverages four years ago and has since launced a slew of "drinkable" products that are all worse than their original line. I hope Two Hearted IPA doesn't go away or change.
Replies: >>14452
>>14442
Maybe we live in the same state. There definitely used to be a lot more breweries eberrywhere here and a bretty decent amount of beer variety to go with them, but I think corona lockdowns killed a lot of them and the ones leftover just put out knockoffs of the same three or four types of beer so it's not even worth checking out the breweries that are left either because they won't have anything interesting.
Sad state if affairs but nothing good lasts forever.

You and your recruiting. You come across like a door-to-door evangelist. :)
YKK is a romantic tale of watching the world gently pass by and fall apart. Alpha's robotic nature acts as a pallet to paint the passage of time. While she remains static, eberrything around her changes. She watches the world and accepts it as it is. I love the ideals of the story and the idea of peacefully embracing desolation. I like the character and what she represents. I have no interest is robowaifus.

Had me some major diarrhea a few days back. Surprisingly cookies were one of the few things I could keep down. I'm not too comfortable eating something as processed but frankly ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ it was a one time thing, and they did taste good. These and herbal tea quite helped out my stomach.

Some people don't have the patience for slow-going forums. I get the feeling these are the same kinds of people to make the stupidest, most brain-rotted posts as well. Personally, I got too much going on to care for too low a PPH. IBs are a forum not an hobby.

This is not intended as an insult, but maybe constructive criticism. As a more or less outside observer, I think y'all wood be better off promoting yourselves in a generally more positive fashion. I may berry well be wrong, but I think the spiteful or bitter sounding nature of some of the /robowaifu/ discourse is hurting the ability of people to be receptive to the idea of a robowaifu. Also, I find it funny that you replying to me attracted /rwby/ anon.

I mentioned 8chan because it LITERALLY has an /rwby/ board.

#1 is drink more water and cut down on alcohol and sugar.
#2 exercise, preferably cardio. Running is a bitch so I recommend swimming laps and/or doing martial arts/boxing.
The burning of calories will force your body to eat your fat reserves, which includes those surrounding your liver.

On top of that I'd recommend drinking a glass of water with a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar and occasionally consuming activated charcoal. It'll flush out your system of toxins and other crap, including your kidneys and liver. It's not an instant process (It'll take a dedicated year at least to show big results) but it's worth it. I sleep better, I don't feel as stressed or tired as I used to and I rarely get constipation or diarrhea. Also helps with heartburn.

Also cut down on greasy food. I still eat it, but for example with Bacon after I fry it up, I put the strips on paper towels to soak up excess grease and fat. Fat-free products are a scam however.

Additionally I'd suggest doing a Keto diet for a month or so, just as a starter. It's not as good long-term but helps clean your insides up.

No that's great. Thanks, Anon. I'd like to ask you to do us all a favor and open up this discussion on our /meta bread. Maybe we can all have a rational discussion on this topic there, and see some improvements?
