Post here when you visit /comfy/ Thread number nine How are you today anon ?
Alright you lazy slags? Couldn't make a thread past the bump limit this time eh? Had to wait for a natural decision maker such as myself to come around and make it for you? tsk tsk threadslaves, this is getting a bit sad thread question - how did you lads spend your new years?
This will be a personal challenge for me. I will draw every day for 100 days straight and post my progress here. I have failed myself time and time again by losing motivation or getting distracted and I am sick of it. I've reorganized my schedule and devoted two hours each day to drawing. If I miss even a single day, I want you to bully me (all three of you) mercilessly. Nothing short of death will stop be from finishing this. Here I go.
Post your art related woes here.
REMEMBER! NEVER GIVE UP! WE BELIEVE IN YOU!
The alien thread has gotten me nostalgic for some good old fashioned conspiracy theories. Nowadays it's all just commodotized creepypastas and political shitflinging, which is fucking laaaaame. What are some of your favorite conspiracy theories of the more obscure or classic varieties? Thought provoking, entertaining, or just weird. The more schizo, convoluted, detailed, and overcomplicated the better.
A lot of people tend to look down on television as disposable slop for nigger cattle, which a lot of it is. That said, I do enjoy seeing a story being told over a series of interconnected episodes as opposed to a single standalone feature. It allows a lot more time for the characters and plotline to develop, and makes a great vehicle for sci-fi/fantasy worldbuilding. The last show I saw was the Prisoner from 1968. It's about a retired glowie who gets kidnapped by a shadowy organization and made to live in a bizarre little town that runs on its own set of rules while they interrogate him about his past and play psychological tricks on him to get him to give away the information they want. What are some other TV shows worth watching that make the most of what the medium has to offer?
A place for all things meta regarding our small dark room. Suggestions, banners, board exposure plans, they go here. Be not afraid to comment.
Videos/Shorts Thread. Try to keep the file sizes down a little in consideration of the server.
What's your favorite album or song to chill out and listen to in its entirety?
This is something I meant to write since some time, but now the impending doom of anon.cafe finally made me actually do this. Originally this site was born as a tech demo after the demise of zchan, to modify jschan so it can run on multiple servers, for load balancing and maybe better ddos resistance. But the code never got merged upstream, so this site still runs a fork of jschan, originally on 3 servers, now on only two (and both of them at buyvm, so it's not much redundancy). On the other hand, zzzchan (probably the biggest imageboard running jschan) went with the original jschan and only using HTTP reverse proxies, so maybe this is overkill, after all. But anyway, whatever started as a tech demo pretty much stayed. Which brings me to the current state of this site, it's pretty dead. There's /nep/, which is a copy of the old 8chan's /nep/, but at this point it pretty much functions only as an archive, it barely has any traffic. There's /quest/, it had some activity in the past, but now it has like 1 posts per week, one half-dead quest and a couple of dead ones. And /finance/, it also had some traffic initially, but now it's also pretty dead. I also have two BOs who never log in, so I have to delete the spam posted to their boards. (It's not that bad, filters catch most of the spam, and since the site is so dead, I can just open the global recent posts page, and delete any spam. I guess a dead site has some advantage too.) In the past I didn't have any instructions on how to get a new board, because, to be honest, I didn't want to attract a lot of attention. I have better shit to do than dealing with courts and getting raided just because some anon said something on my site, or dealing with butthurt faggots ddosing my site. This site is not under cuckflare, and I'd very much like to keep it that way. On the other hand my gatekeeping was probably a bit too aggressive, even though I didn't do much (I think I only rejected one board). I guess just assuming that anons would randomly come here was a mistake. I'm also very bad at being proactive, if it's not already obvious. So with that out of the way, I'd like to open an official board request thread. This is a free service, I reserve the right to reject any application or to shut down the service any time; don't expect 99.999999% uptime, blah blah blah. But unless you're one of those boards that are known to attract a lot of drama/shitstorm/lolcows/school shootings/etc, it's probably okay. I'd like to keep this site nice and comfy rather than having high PPH, there are better admins out there when it comes to dealing with that shit. Required info: >URI e.g. /uri/ >name of the board >a short description/rationale What is this board and why do you think I won't reject it, not the description that goes onto the board listing. >planned rules Include that global rules apply. >what BO experience you have >proof of you're the BO if you want a bunker/migrate an existing board >user name and email Alternatively you can send me a mail with login details if you do not want to publicly disclose it after your request is accepted. I'll generate you a password if you don't specify one. I'd like to keep requests here, not in private emails if possible, like it happened sometimes in the past. If you're selected I'll send you an email, provided you have a mail server that doesn't block cock.li emails. You'll receive your board unlisted and locked, it's your job to enable them when you're done with the setup. See >>200 for more info.
What’s a TV show you watch over and over? I hardly watch anything new anymore. Just Frasier, The Sopranos and House. I cycle through them yearly and want to shake it up with something new that people find rewatchable
Anyone else here /retro/maxxing? I've realized there is no point in denying myself happiness and gigacoziness and I may as well go all in on my retro obsessions even if it's a bit weird. I could list a bunch of things I'm doing but I'll start with just a couple here >film photography I have never bought a digital camera and I have stopped being a NEET lately. I have a small comfy job so I have some money and I buy rolls of film on occasion and I carry a late '90s point and shoot camera with me almost everywhere I go. It's fun and super comfy. I also started developing black and white film myself, at home. >computer I have set up my windows machine to look like windows 98 (not completely accurate but I've changed over the icons and use a classic theme, etc. And on my linux machine I have set it up to look like some versions of UNIX from the late 80s to early 90s. And for my browser I use Pale Moon and I have it set to look like Netscape. >music I go to the record store sometimes and browse around and I have a collection of tapes, CDs, and records which I listen to. I have a lot of fun fixing cassette decks too. I could go on but what have you guys been doing? You ARE living it, aren't you anons??

QTDDTOT - The thread for all those burning Questions That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread R: 63 / F: 24
So up until now, we've had a lot (lol) of off-topic posting, a lot a one-and-done "how do I make game tho" posts in various threads, especially the meta and progress threads. This is now the new dumping ground for those posts. Do try to put some effort into your posts though, you'll get more responses and won't have to face the wrath of jacked Carmack and his dragon dildo sword+2 that way.
Let's have a new thread without a tonne of broken images. Have there been any new forms of /retro/ media (could be movies, games, anime, websites, etc.) that wanted to look old and actually succeeded? There's an artist called BlueTheBone who makes "retro"-styled animations, cheesecake, and porn. Like any modern hack, he overdoses on visual clutter and uses filters that don't actually resemble the time period he's trying to emulate - but despite that, I think his style is consistently decent. If he relied less on computers and filters, then I think he'd be a much better artist, but that goes without saying for most contemporary artists. The really weird things happen when he tries to make modern character designs and media look old, like pic 2. It isn't exactly wrong, but there is something perplexing about viewing characters and series that were developed specifically with modern aesthetics in mind.
What was the last thing you watched, and what did you think of it?
Hey everyone. What do you guys do before going to bed? Do you guys sleep well? Personally I just shut down my pc and just go to sleep. For me it takes time to actually start sleeping (usually an hour). I'll go to bed but after some time I'm just thinking my own thoughts and I can't fall asleep.
after some searching i finally found the site from SomeOrdinaryGamers video. but after lookin through the whole thin i aint find the pictures from the alleged shooing
My grandfather introduced me to "All in the Family" the other day, and I started binge watching it out of a sense of...how edgy it was. Like this is something that would not come out today. Some time ago, I was reading some old Usenet posts and thought, "Holy cow, how did this not get banned/deleted?" Post/users like that would just immediately get scrubbed now. I recently saw "Freddie Got Fingered" and was kind of amazed that that was in theaters. Was the 90s more tolerant than today? Was everything really this edgy? Or is this some sort of weird survival bias? The only thing today that I can think of that comes anywhere close is Southpark, but I'm not sure that counts because Southpark came out in the 90s.
The anons talking about their times in the Mississippi banks was pretty comfy. I'd never heard of the driftless area before, but it sounds mythical. I'd like to start a thread like that here. You're welcome to post your stories and adventures on walks in the city or out and about in nature, I'd love to read them.
Cock.li releases deadman switch? > https://cock.li/index.asc.txt >For nearly 11 years, cock.li has remained one of the only public e-mail providers to allow registration as anonymously as a library card. The fact that it's still possible to get an e-mail address as easy as 20 years ago is a fact widely *hated* by international governments; at least the parts of those governments which have dedicated countless resources to target our service, our team, our family, and our friends with illegal surveillance, bad-jacketing, organized disinformation, and much worse. >A combination of these illegal tactics have become so serious that the site is now in grave danger. >In the 2022 film COCKCON 2020 (2019)[0], a 250MB encrypted file was hidden in a second video track of the 1080p release.

Number 3, or is it 4? Who's keeping count, anyways? Last thread hit bump limit, so now here's an all new Trashchan edition of the thread. I like this place. I think it will make a good home for us. What's on your mind, tonight?

I recently found out about Escargot (https://escargot.log1p.xyz/) which is a MSN Messenger revival project so let's have a thread about other projects to revive old software / games. There's also a really nice one for AIM too. http://iwarg.ddns.net/aim/
>ITT: Vidya of the 90's and 2000's Keep it limited to the scope of this board, so basically Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Generation consoles only for now. For those who don't know what consoles are part of which generation, here's a quick rundown of the time frame we're talking about... >Fourth Generation: SNES, Sega Genesis/Sega CD >Fifth Generation: PS1, N64, Sega Saturn >Sixth Generation: Dreamcast, PS2, Gamecube, OG Xbox Discussion of games from the Seventh Generation consoles (PS3/Wii/Xbox 360) is allowed as well, but I'd like the thread to mainly focus on the 4th-6th console genererations since the 7th Gen era carried over into the 2010's and a lot of the games from that era onward obviously have far more in common with modern gaming than stuff from the 16-bit consoles or the PS1 and PS2 eras. You can also discuss PC games and handhelds from 1990-2009 in this thread too, as well as arcade games from that time. Any old-school gaming topic is fair game, whether it be the games themselves or old video gaming magazines, even wild rumors from that kid on the playground whose uncle worked at Nintendo...

Comfy is a place to relax. Please be kind and keep the things nice. The rules are: >Follow the global rules >Keep it cozy >Keep it SFW >No rabble rousing That means no unrelated political posts, intentionally provocative posts, posts insulting someone's race or religion or promoting committing crimes. >No boat rocking That means no uncalled for insults, rudeposting, or instigating drama. >No advertising You can talk about comfy places, but blatant advertising is not nice. Hey Admin, I'm trying to set my custom CSS on /comfy/ but it says ''' Bad Request Custom CSS strict mode is enabled and does not allow the following: "@", "url(" ''' I believe it's because I link the background image in it, despites I uploaded it in the "Assets" settings of the board. https://trashchan.xyz/asset/comfy/6c6f248c291c7e2674e510c6cdd3f33fb2564164176ab322109fe8788c9abcbb.png and here is the line of the CSS file : ''' background-image: url(/asset/comfy/6c6f248c291c7e2674e510c6cdd3f33fb2564164176ab322109fe8788c9abcbb.png); ,,, It works well when I test my CSS in the "on the fly" settings though so I believe it may be a permission problem that prevent me to put anURL in my CSS. Please halp !

Since the fall of 8chan. Say 8chan did not get taken down and survived into today, how would things be? What would the culture be like in 2024? Would it have grown in more users or bled users?

I ordered a PS Vita (my PC is a toaster and I don't have other consoles) and I'd be interested in checking out this series by starting with Re;Birth 1, but I'd first like to get to know some things in advance. -What's the ratio of story/gameplay? -Is the gameplay engaging and challenging? -Are there branching endings and other things I need a guide for? -How much fanservice is there? (Asking from pro-fanservice angle) -Does it have hard Japanese? (I want to play it in Japanese) -Does it really have "fourth-wall-breaking, trope-demolishing dialogue" as the Steam description says? (Asking from angle where I would find that potentially cringe) -Is the experience gimped by not getting certain game industry references, etc etc? -How do the following entries compare to the first game? -Other things that I should know? (Picture unrelated)
So I'm a big fan of the genre, trying to gather the best examples. Indiana Jones trilogy as well as Young Indiana Jones chronicles – goes without saying these are the best. The Mummy 1, 2 – probably the next best thing. Just all around well made wholesome entertainment. Armor of God 2 – so Jackie Chan wanted to make his version of Indiana Jones and I have to say he succeeded. It's great both as a Jackie film and a treasure seeking film. The first Armor of God is also alright but it's always been a bit too dry and boring for me, especially in comparison to the sequel. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – I was actually surprised how decent this was for what it is. Surprisingly well-made. Peak Jolie too. The sequel is kinda crap and what you'd actually expect from something like this, and the NuBoot should be avoided like plague. The Adventures of Tintin – despite being obnoxious in-your-face 3D, it eventually grows on you and definitely scratches that globe-trotting treasure-hunting itch real good. I wish this was made earlier when Spilerberg was still a real director. National treasure – it's kinda silly and derivative, being a Yidsney movie for younger audiences, but the first film just about passes as enjoyable and well enough made which was still a thing in 2004.

Is there an m3u8 out there where kino is streamed? I see there are plenty of mainstream tv/movies that have a 24/7 stream out there. There are even the shoutfactory streams for CG-type content.
Is there one for KG-adjacent movies? Or would any generous soul be interested in making one?

I'm just hoping for the /comfy/ feeling of tuning in and discovering something new.
Heya /comfy/. I want to hear your discoveries and experiences on the numerous adjustments you made to your life to make it as comfy as it can be. It can even be plans for future comfiness. I want to see it all. It doesn't even matter if someone else posted about a similar experience. I want to read as much as you feel comfortable sharing. It doesn't matter how small, since even the smallest change can yield a net positive. Sometimes, I just become too complacent in uncomfy stuff and assume it can't be helped until I see someone set an example. I have difficulty letting myself be comfy due to personal reasons and as a consequence, I do nothing. Being comfy isn't just about doing nothing, but it's also about going out of your way to do stuff to be comfy. I'd love for this thread to be a helpful resource into achieving the comfy mindset and serve as a source of inspiration, so share away! To start, here's a bunch of experiences that I'd like to share. I always liked Logitech keyboards, but the keycaps they come with are pretty shoddy. The letters washed off when I cleaned them. They even peeled away and stuck to my fingers after some light use. To top it off, I'd have to fork over more money for replacements that likely would do the same. It always stressed me out. I did a little investigation and found out that there are different types of materials used for keycaps. ABS, PBT, and pudding keycaps from what I remember. 90% of keyboards these days come with ABS keycaps and Logitech was no different. Basically, ABS keycaps are the cheapest type and they're thinner, but they're decently quiet for typing. PBT keycaps usually have better ink and sometimes even letters engraved into the material, but they're thicker which means they might produce a heavier thonk sound when you type on them. Pudding keycaps are the best of PBT and ABS combined, in my opinion. The very top is PBT which makes it very durable, and the letters don't get worn off, but the sides are ABS and not inked, which still keeps the quieter typing experience of an ABS keycap. Now, most Logitech keyboards have their unique switches that the keycaps would have to be attached to, and finding keycaps for those switches is a bit tricky, but I was able to find a keyboard from them that used those common cherry switches. I ordered that one and some pudding keycaps in my favorite colors and voila, I now have a comfy keyboard that looks aesthetically pleasing, functions well, doesn't feel greasy after a day, and doesn't fall apart after some soap and water! Regarding outfits, I decided to embrace wearing oversized sweatshirts about 2 sizes bigger than what I am. For both loungewear and when I'm out and about. Since I like to present myself as a bit dressier nowadays, I just toss a plain-colored collared dress shirt underneath it and I get the style and comfiness all at the same time. The oversized nature of each sweatshirt is perfectly comfortable enough to lounge around in on its own. I can tuck my knees under it to keep my legs warm. It's also big enough to be thrown over some actual clothes without feeling a bit tight. They add an accent color to my outfits since I wear mostly black and white, and it also generally gives me an excuse to wear some vibrant, yet soothing colors I love without it being too much. Efficiency! And the last one for now since I'd like to avoid blogposting: Shaving is no longer something I loathe. I thought my skin was just extra sensitive to shaving, so I just lived with razor bumps, nicks, redness from irritation, etc. Turns out, I wasn't preparing myself for a shave as well as I should've been. I thought just shaving wet in the shower was enough. I picked up a much newer safety razor that was appraised for being gentle to sensitive skin, switched over to a different brand of razor blades, and started using actual shave butter instead of using my 2-in-1 shampoo as a substitute. My eyes no longer burn and turn red from the 2-in-1 and to top it off, shaving has never been faster and more therapeutic. Most importantly, it's now a comfy experience. I do have plans to pick up one of those scented shower steamers so shaving and showering is even more comfy. I think I'll try those out sometime next month and give an update here, and maybe ramble some more about more of my experiences after I read some posts. So, anon, what were your revelations, and what are you up to?

Almost everything has a slant, a bias, a nauseating moral tale behind that makes the act of watching unbearable once you're old and receptive. Terrible characters with terrible motivations, fake love stories, manichean villains, clumsy writing… the dreaded sense of being preached for 2 hours. I would go to the church or read the news if I wanted that. To me the only good films are those where all pretense is abandoned like a whore on the side of the road; films where the director embarks it almost like a scientific experiment, deprived of tropes, where the characters have their own motivation and not those of the director/writer/politics of the time. Abstraction, simplification; expression limited to stylistic & narrative choices. Nonexistent psychological studies; characters should be like microbes under the microscope of the filmmaker -absolute objectivity in the writing aspect. Something like Un Flic by Jean Pierre Melville is the perfect example of a film deprived of all the ills that plague the medium. Only films like these are the ones I can watch without feeling repulsive afterwards.
This is a thread to give some background on the illegal porn spam with links. I've seen some false guesses and claims going around on various boards so I figured it's time I made a dedicated thread to explain it. I have been a janny, mod or admin on a few imageboards for the past 10 years, and casually post on many, including anon.cafe for the last 4 (although less so recently). Those who use a few different sites at once, especially slower/understaffed boards, will soon begin to notice patterns. Posts which look out of place. Identical posts which look out of place on two different sites. Drop a quote from it into a search engine and it's on twenty different imageboards! It turns out there are a few spammers on imageboards, who go down a list of boards reposting the same post. A few years ago I made a bot to regularly check for new threads on imageboards and highlight any duplicates, documenting imageboard spam to find patterns and learn how to combat it. There are a few different main categories of this spam. One is imageboard spam (or sometimes forums or D#scord chats), many of you will have seen recent posts from two news imageboards, just posting a link to their site and leaving. Political spam is also big (almost always either generic /pol/ tripe, Christian evangelism or actual schizophrenic psychosis), and it's worth noting that politics spam was especially big around 2020 so there will probably be a heap later this year. This is easy to spot on hobby boards, although it often blends in unnoticed on politics boards and random (/b/) boards, where they're often taken seriously, and sometimes those spammers choose to just repost only on the dozen /pol/ boards online. There are some other smaller classes of spam, but we're here to talk about the biggest spam category by far: The CP spam is commercial spam. That's why they have links in them. They hit any imageboard they can find. Even test sites with no users. Different CP site owners have been doing this for at least 10 years, and probably ever since the internet went public. This isn't news to people who have been around for a while, but for fresh users on political sites it's easy to jump to the conclusion that its one person (some cryptic 'pedoposter' character), or their designated scapegoat or feds trying to take their site down. But this was happening before /pol/ was even a board on 4chan, and it was happening on even harmless niche hobby imageboards (which is where I started jannying ten years ago, to help delete the hourly CP spam until the admin programmed a hacky countermeasure). And they don't just target imageboards. This is commercial spam. They target any blog comment section or unsecured forum they can discover. You can verify this yourself by checking where the same ad link appears in a search engine. There are commercial/freeware tools made by organized crime companies for discovering and spamming unsecured forums, which brag about being able to break most captchas (and even 10 years ago you could pay $1 per 1000 Google reCAPTCHA solves by real humans in poorer countries, all plugged into your bot via an API). But there's an important point. The current ones aren't bot posting. These are humans, fresh custom-made captchas don't stop them. Simple post filters don't stop them ('post blocked, please try again' won't stop someone who is financially motivated). Anything that wouldn't stop you, won't stop them. And I say 'them' for good reason, you can verify both through basic linguistic forensics (typing styles, filename choices, filter evasion techniques, etc.) and by fingerprinting their user-agents that the same link is being posted by multiple spammers. Specifically, the current one with a child model on a purple background has the same link being posted by three distinct people, all from East Siberia and far North East Asia. They each have a list of target sites (some use imageboard lists like (historically) cc0's list or AllChans, others use custom-made spam lists with all kinds of websites on them, this can sometimes be confirmed by checking their HTTP referrers) and they go down the list, one by one, often clearly in alphabetical order, posting their garbage. They usually post on the first board they see, usually the first alphabetically or the most active/bumped board (which is why anons here correctly pointed out /comfy/ and /k/ were disproportionately targeted on anon.cafe), although they may also just have a certain arbitrary board saved (like lainchan's /zzz/, apparently), maybe because it got listed in a search first. I've seen cases where an imageboard has just locked their /a/ board due to constant spam and most of it disappeared (/a/ is first in alphabetical order, so on their homepage it was the first a spammer would click, so this wouldn't work on lynxchan/jschan's boardlist where they're ordered by activity). It's also important to keep in mind that CP sites come and go, and along with it, different spammers. There have been particularly nasty ones in the past which posted full nudes, link in the image only so the post couldn't be text filtered, random filename, and either no text or text copied from other posts. Phash techniques could be a useful approach there, and the Junkuchan admin has mentioned in the Cloudflare thread that phash filtering has worked well for them. Keep in mind, while it's possible in rare cases there is some CP posting which is different to what most people and I am describing, you can very clearly tell when it's different, the main difference being that malicious posters aren't shilling a pedo scam website. I have seen malicious CP posting only once, where a /pol/ user raided a site with child nude modelling photos posted from purchased VPS servers (this was done during a mass raid after the victim imageboard was linked in an active 4chan /pol/ thread. This was back in 2021 or 2022). That stuff tends to be either posted without any text (neither in the body nor the image) or with a taunt. Here is the monitoring system: https://xj9k.neocities.org/ It only monitors certain sites, and only OPs on some sites, so it's far from conclusive but it's demonstrative. Spam posts are grouped together under one detection (semi-automatically, so there are some small mistakes), it's worth clicking [Expand] and seeing how they differ over time and attempt to evade filters, or how the same spammer makes similar but different spam posts. Clicking the Tags button in the top corner (or clicking on a tag) will show you examples of the many categories of spam.
How much money do you need to retire? What portfolio should that retirement fund consist of. Is it actually even possible to retire anymore, given how shitty the future is likely going to be?
Is anybody home? I got kicked out of 4chan and need a home for the bull market.

Welcome to the arena. Despair, ye who enter here. The arena is something of a venting thread. If you have beef with another anon or with a specific vtuber that is getting out-of-hand, you may have discussion moved to this thread. If you want to discuss negative or obtuse meta content of a vtuber such as a boyfriend fuck list or actual pictures of the actress, you must do it here, or on a different board/website. This thread is still moderated, however rules 0 and 6 do not apply here. Have at each other to your heart's content. Please hide this thread by default if this is content you do not wish to see. I would hide it too, if I had the choice. If anon ever gets to the point where he's exclusively only lurking this thread, new rules may come up. At the end of the day, your oshi is a real girl. She may show gratitude and appreciate her fans, but she does not love you. EDIT: As a reminder, please familiarize yourself with the Global Rules of anon.cafe as Romania has laws regarding unlawful violation of privacy and doxxing that this site is beholden to. Should you choose to personally investigate matters, you do so at your own risk. My legal take on this unless the site owner disagrees and corrects me, is that if the information was publicly available at one time, then it does not fall under the Romanian criminal code unless a request for deletion is submitted since it falls under the internet's default fair use license honored by most countries. Should I receive an email or be forwarded such a "DMCA" request, I will post a copy (with names and personal details expunged of course) for transparency in-thread after removing the offending content.
Found or thought of something interesting or helpful related to game development or design? Post it here.
Vague enough title to hopefully allow for a broader discussion, which films made you sit and think, either about the content or the commentary that it creates? Pic related elephant man, ie Joseph Merrick sparked my interest in historical treatment of "freaks" that are suffering medical conditions, it is a difficult one because his finances relied upon people coming to see him to fulfil their curiosities but when Britain became too sensitive for that he had to travel abroad to find work and suffered for it
[JW02 ~ 04/16/2020] A thread to post and request good documentaries on the variety of subjects. I'll start with some choice docus on ancient Egypt. All are selected for quality of presentation, study of subject as well as absence of current year agendas, we wuz kangz niggers etc. Romer's Egypt (3 episodes; 1982) and Ancient Lives (4 episodes; 1984) – the finest and quintessential ancient Egypt presentation; a soothing, in-depth look into ancient Egypt’s life and culture. It has that unmistakable classy 80s look that elevates it above the rest. https://www.invidio.us/channel/UC4gF7P8JKlJ9xAz8MF6AhFw/videos https://www.invidio.us/user/xinistri/videos Egypt: Beyond the Pyramids (4 episodes; 2001) – somewhat similar to Romer’s; not as in-depth or classy but still an enjoyable watch. https://www.dailymotion.com/search/Egypt%3A%20Beyond%20the%20Pyramids The Robot, The Dentist and the Pyramid (1 episode; 2020) – an excellent amateur documentary about the latest attempt to explore the shaft of the Great Pyramid. https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=rhsddHgybTo Immortal Egypt (4 episodes; 2016) – despite being modern and hosted by a wommyn, it surprisingly manages to somehow avoid the current year pozz and is very much watchable. Probably the best HD series on the matter. https://www.invidio.us/playlist?list=PLhMDlPcDRBKSmMYcsJ_29dak29zvIm2pE Saving Egypt’s Oldest Pyramid (1 episode; 2013) – annoying modern American presentation but very interesting and unique look inside the Step Pyramid. https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=qvSbtf68AOg Nova’s experimental archaeology series – some of the largest experimental archaeology attempts put to film. The Pyramid (1997): https://biqle.org/watch/218310818_456239037 The Obelisk (1997): https://biqle.org/watch/247592695_456239754 The Obelisk (2000): https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=K4NNCEVtgj8 The Chariot: https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=KIJvz7i0DdE Carl Sagan’s Cosmos (an extract from ep.12; 1980) – Sagan explains Rosetta stone and hieroglyphics. https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=V8B58n0XWY4 Building the Great Pyramid (1 episode; 2002) – perhaps the only good dramatization on the subject of ancient Egypt. May not be the most accurate but definitely the best attempt to bring Egypt to life on screen. https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=DzNXG4l0m6k
Write a few things about what keeps you going through everyday life.
Because cinema needs this type of character. All suggestions are welcome.
Tell me a short story from your life. Anything mundane, exciting, nostalgia, emotional. Literally anything as long as it's a vaguely happy one.

The worst part about getting sick is how it fucks up your circadian rythm. After being bedridden for a day and a half I need to somehow get back in bed and get enough sleep to make it through work tomorrow. And with my luck going to work on five hours of sleep will just make me get sick again.
Any sites you want to share you have discovered that are interesting or useful?
Is the original 8/agdg/ owner in charge of this board, or was it started by someone else? Also all-purpose meta thread I guess.

Baking, brewing, and cooking are berry important hearth-building and health-building skills. They are a surefire way to make yourself /comfy/, Anon! What are you baking, brewing, or cooking at the moment? How is it coming out? What will you be trying next time? Is there anything you'd like to try improving? Is there something you'd like to learn? Maybe you have something you'd like to teach us? I tried some old things and new things today! Pics related are: >the bread I made earlier today; a shrimple white cobb loaf. This was the first time I was just able to make it from memory. It felt great to be able to just reach for the ingredients and go through the motions. As luck wood have it, the prove went well and the slashes formed up beautifully. I was worried that the crumb inside wood be a little wet but it turned out berry nice with a good chewy crust. The loaf is wrapped in beeswax cloth now so I can eat it over the week. I'm considering getting a sourdough starter going but I don't know if I'm good enough to handle it yet. >my first attempt at glazing carrots Apparently glazing (which I have found out is different from caramelising) is a basic technique that even professionals find difficult to get perfect eberry time. I think my first attempt here had just a touch too little water and a touch too little sugar, though I reckon I got the butter correct. See how the finished carrots don't have an even glaze? They still tasted berry good with some parsley and finishing salt. Next I'm going to try blanching with asparagus. >sous vide pork tenderloin >fell for the sous vide meme Yes, and I love it! Weirdly, the garlic I put on these pork tenderloins was stained bluish-green by the other herbs during the water bath, but they cooked down to a tasty colour during the two minute finishing sear. I had the pork together with the carrots for dinner. They tasted great and I felt a great upswell of wellbeing after I finished them. Your turn, Anon!
So, what are some of your favorite memories of the old internet? Can be websites, memes, events or any other aspect of the days of Web 1.0 and 1.5 For a quick reference, here's what I would define as Web 1.0 and Web 1.5 >Web 1.0: Usenet, Geocities and Angelfire, AOL (1991-2001) >Web 1.5: Early YouTube, ED, 4chan in its "wild west" days, MySpace, YTMND, Newgrounds and the peak years of dA and Fanfiction.net (2001-2008) You also had cross-generation stuff like GameFAQs and IMDB which are still around today, although sadly IMDB's infamous message boards are gone
So, after the not so happy end in chapter two, let's restart this game from the beginning. Chapter 1: >>82 Chapter 2: >>648 Summary: https://questlog.neocities.org/instead Chapter 3 (From the beginning) You're Tom, 29, single, and a full time wageslave. There's not much to talk about your life, today was a usual day for you. You're walking home late at night after a long day of wageslaving. Your coworkers fucked up everything they could then left, so you had to fix all their bullshit---just like always. The weather is also horrible, it's cold and there's a fucking winter storm out here, but at least it means you don't have to deal with the crowd of people. In fact, you're the only person walking down the road, only a few people in cars dare to go anywhere in this weather. You reach the shop you were heading for, to buy some food for dinner, but the entrance is dark. You walk closer and you notice a small sign: "CLOSED DUE TO WEATHER." "Shit," you sigh and start walking back home. You hope you can still find something edible in your fridge, because there's no way you will go find a different shop in this weather. You suddenly hear a low, grumbling sound. You stop and look around, but you don't see anything. What is this? Finally, when you look up, you see a big lump of snow falling toward you! This view shocks you, and before you could react, the avalanche hits you and you pass out. When you regain your senses, you wake up... in a forest like thing? It's certainly not winter here, it should be about 30 °C (86 °F) here, but it feels much hotter due to the high humidity. You look at yourself, it looks like you're naked, the only piece of clothing you have is a bracelet you don't recognize---it's some wooden balls with various carvings of animals. You're full of wounds and bruises, it's no surprise that every part of your body hurts. You're also thirsty and hungry, but in your current situation you're not sure whether you can stand up at all. ... Since this is a replay, feel free to skip ahead until the story diverges. I don't want to copy-paste the whole chapter 1 here.
